I haven't been on the board for about a week now. I have two additional questions...

I was home-schooled during my senior year of high school (went to regular public high school before that) through a distance education program, who awarded me a high school diploma when I finished the last course. I've already taken & completed 10 credit hours of college-level courses. I was wondering if I'm still eligible to enlist under such circumstances... I asked this because I heard from < http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningthemilitary/a/enlstandards_4.htm > that home-schoolers may be considered "Alternative Credential Holders" and that they only allow a few to enlist at any given year. One of you all I remembered said that you have a son who was home-schooled and he enlisted without a problem. Can you describe the procedure a little bit? Do the recruiter just verify that your son has a high school diploma?

The second question I have is about the weight requirement. I'm about 5 ft 5 inches and weigh about 110 lbs. I dunno that would categorize me in the underweight bracket. I heard about the "pork chop" platoon. But I've never heard of how they deal with people who are underweight...

Double-Rats. They stack your tray up as high as it'll go, and you pack it in.

As long as you have a high school diploma then you're going to be fine. If you're too skinny, don't worry your recruiter will help you out. Doble Rats is right though.
