President Bush is embarking on a plan with Social Security to create Private investment accounts do you think people will actually set these accounts up and use them . How say you all on this subject??

I'm not sure but I mostly see it as a way to pump-up the economy on wall street. SS is doing ok and will for many more years because of the new to it thing that is about to go into full swing. The cash out of 401 K's. It will be like a whole generation continuing to work because of the tax and SS payments that will be paid in. It's never happened before in the mass scale that is about to begin.
Will the young people use this option? I don't think they will. The question can also be, should they?
The track record of similar (private investment accounts) schemes in England & Argentina is not promising.

How about some history on that Ivalis. We all need the input to form a judgement on what Bush is working to do.
Excellent article in the New York Times Magazine on 1/16/2004.
As per usual Bu-sh overstates the case that social security is or will be "flat broke".

Well AARP is not indorsing this change to Social Security i know that for a fact...
