So I sell my car to this guy a few weeks ago, well I really missed the car, and I sold it to him for a really good price. Like a "I'm getting divorced let me get rid of this quick price." I found out its just sitting in his yard, he hasnt bothered to replace the clutch or anything its just sitting in his "junkyard". And I offered a price that would cover his expenses of getting the vehicle.

He emails me back with a price DOUBLE what i offered, then has the balls to say yeah thats before i fix it, if i fix it its triple. How shady are you to do that? Both of us are enthusiats that belong to the same car group, we both love these kinds of vehicles. And he is ready to give me a price thats high above the average for these vehicles. But this really got me to me, and I think I know why he did it. Like I said same car club, and some other members who are friends of mine were talking about my next contract job coming up, which i have now declined on. So he is under the impression that i would be making a 6 digit income and would have the cash to spare.

If i had any idea i would miss my car this much, i wouldnt have sold it. Oh well guess I'll just have to find another, back to the history thread. :)

I know how you feel.. I helped my dad restore a few old cars. we did a 48 chevy fleetline sedan, we did a 66 corvair and we did a 56 rocket 88. the guy that got the 56 got a hell of a good price cause of my fathers health.. but when it went for sale i wanted to buy it back as i did help restore it.. well the guy that is selling it told me what the price was and there is no way that i could afford that, but i was totally willing to give him what he paid for the car plus an additional 2,000. but he still declined.. i guess you can say the reason that i want that car was it was the last one that we had done together.

Thats the thing its not like this car is a collectors item. Its an 83 RX-7, picked it up for $900, drove the hell out of it, never replaced anything on it. Everything was good to go. Oh well, I know a guy who has an 85 RX-7 with a Ford 2.3T putting down 400hp and 4?? lbs of torque for a cheap price. :)

In MCLB Albany, a Marine was shipping to Okinawa and was dumping his car for a quick $800.

I caught up with him and said, "I got cash in hand right now!" And he said sorry, "I already sold it to L/Cpl so-and-so."

I knew the L/Cpl was married and just looking for a second car, so I catch up to him and offer him $200 cash to back out of the deal.

The L/Cpl goes to a car lot and buys a better car for $1,000 down, the Marine bound for Oki is happy with $800 in his pocket, and I get the car.

Sweet deal for everyone!

oh and dont buy something you have to make payments on, CO's dont like for younger marines to have payments to make each month.

Do not go to a buy here pay here kind of place either. You can find nice used cars for not too high of a price.. depends on how much you want to spend as to what to get.
