Now, as patriots and loyal subjects of the nation, I figure it is our duty to kknow as much about our past as it is our future. Also, I am bored again, and I love history. what with the advent of the internet, this game won't be nearly as challenging as it should be, but I want to play ANYWAY.

so, first question:

What are the Signifignce of these dates? April 19, 1775 April 12, 1861 November 11, 1918 and finally December 7, 1941?

( those last two should be gimmes, and if you have to look THOSE up, you should be ashamed!)

ok, who's got it?

TRLewis
12-22-04, 12:52 PM
April 19, 1775- battle for lexington and concord. Also known as the shot heard around the world.

April 12, 1861 Beginning of the civil war.

November 11, 1918- cease fire of word war 1

December 7, 1941- Pearl Harbor.

In the front parlour; Lee got there first. Grant refused to accept Lee's sword.

The owner of the house at Appomattox Courthouse (actual name of the town, btw) was the same owner of the house at the intersection of Rt 234 and Hwy 29 in Manassas when First Manassas broke out. His family got caught in the crossfire when the battle began.

As far as the first target in germany of the 8th air force. The original target was a sub. facility at Vegesack. Weather caused the target to be changed to Wilmenshaven.
