I went and bought my teenage daughter a 1/4 ounce gold coin for Christmas. I hope she gets the 'bug' and learns more about economics and investing.

Anyway, it was a major freakin' ordeal to buy gold bullion, even at that small amount. The bank wanted to photcopy my driver's license, get a thumbprint, and all kinds of personal info. I had an easier time purchasing a 38 snubnose in Tennessee.

It took 45 minutes and two employees to get it done. And they charged me sales tax! "Wait a minute," I asked, "Isn't this a form of currency issued by the government mint? And you are charging me 7% for purchasing currency?"

I asked the supervising Banking Gestapo, "Next time will this be a faster process?" She said, "No, Mr Kannon, this is our procedure for gold purchases that we must follow."

No wonder guys don't like shopping! :(

bar shopping for gold.

You just have to find some dude in a bar that has a gold gap tooth, pop him in the mouth take the tooth and if you do this often enought you can melt your own coin.

No paper work involved. LMAO
