Biloxi Miss Defense Sec Donald Rumsfield should be replaced sometime in the next year according to trent lott (Rep Sen.)

I am not a fan of Mr Rumsfield lott told the chamber of commerce on wednesday at a meeting. I dont think he listens enough to his uniformed officers.

Rumsfield has been under heavy fire since a soldier asked him last week why the combat vehicles used in the war in iraq dont have the proper armor. Both Rumsfield and President Bush have said more vehicle armor will be shipped to Iraq.

The Mississippi Republican doesnt think Rumsfield is the person to carry out that plan.

I would like to see a change in that slot in the next year Lott said. I am not calling for his resignation but i think we need a change and very quickly..

On Monday sen John McCain told the associated press that he has no confidence in Rumsfield what so ever with his handling of the war in iraq and the failure to send more troops.

McCain a republican said his comments were not a call for rumsfields resignation explaining that Bush can have the team that he wants around him. McCain also stated Rumsfield needs to make sure all this equipment is being fitted right before going to iraq and that rumsfield needs to stay in the united states and quit his so called Morale booster trips.

McCain said he also expressed lack of confidence in Rumsfield when fielding a similar question a couple of weeks ago.

Here (http://nyjtimes.com/cover/12-14-04/ArmorEffortGoodNewsForTroops.htm) is the full transcript of SecDef's meeting with the toops.

Personally I think he handeld the armor question very well, go with what you got.

But if you look at the transcript you can easley pick out that there were more than Liberal media interjections. The Right had some planted questions also.

But the one Question that all of the media missed:
Q: Mr. Secretary, Lieutenant Colonel Alan Kronolog (sp). I’m the Inspector General for the 116th Brigade Combat team. We’re helping – or trying to help about 150 soldiers get their contingency travel pay.

We’ve gone through the chain of command; we’ve tried IG channels. These soldiers have gone – some since July – without getting travel pay.

Thousands of dollars, they’re having creditors call them at home, call their spouses at home, threatening collection action. We have a big problem. There seems to be a problem with the Defense Finance Accounting Service. Can you help us to understand that problem, Mr. Secretary or even better, can you point us to a resource that will help us get these soldiers paid?

Something is seriously wrong when you have to go to the SecDef to ask about pay due issues!

What bothers me about Lott is that when he should have spoken out--against Clinton--he kept his mouth shut. He's a weasel.

Rumsfeld is simply a puppet of George II, I find it amusing/ironic that one can support the prez and call for his mouthpiece's removal.
