In northwest Indiana, my hometown newspaper only had one article in an inner section of the newspaper dealing with the attack on Pearl Harbor and other military bases in Hawaii.
Its sad that part of our history is being ignored or forgotten.
The front page was mostly on corruption of a zone authority and the high-rise fire in Chicago, Illinois yesterday in the evening.
Its sad that we come to this on 7 December 2004

There's even a bit about one Marine waiting to be processed out on a Bad Conduct Discharge. After manning a 5 inch gun to shoot back at Japanese Zeros equiped with 50 cals and 500 pound bombs, the Corps decided he was worth retaining!
