The mail will only move slooooower now.
Its all about demand. leave it to the goverment to increase the demand for stamps buy raising the price. I swear common sense should be issued at birth. I for one am glad that technology has put a choke hold on the US Postal Service.
Let em' keep on raising the price. I do all my coorspondence through the web and email.
I wish it would cut down on the junkmail

I agree.. I use email now with most of my mail and letters, the mail isnt worth 41 cents to send anything. Its totally outrageous... Let them keep raising it.. i dont need it anyways. That is true about being the reason people are turning to different ways to send stuff.. they are getting tired of USPS.. and I dont blame them..

What do you want for 41 cents? A can of pop, pack of smokes, bottle of beer, hamburger or gallon of gas? Yes, they all USED to be less then that but no longer are. Just as a stamp is no longer 3 cents.
Every time that gas goes up 1 cent per gallon it costs USPS 1 million dollars per day. Gas has gone up a bit, many cents for many days. Wages and machines and trucks and everything has gone up.
Want to send a Christmas card to a friend across the country? Well, that will cost you 41 cents. Not a bad price! Do the math per mile.
The USPS is not funded with tax dollars, all of its revenue comes from the sell of stamps.
Your tax dollars pay for other services such as the VA, Wellfare, roads, etc., not for mail delivery.
If you don't like the service of the USPS you have a choice, don't pay for it. Don't buy stamps.
Not so for government funded agencies that you don't like or do not benifit from---you will pay no matter what.
So, pay 41 cents and we will pick up your letter or card and take it to a processing plant, run it across a high tech machine to sort it, take it to an airport, put it on a plane, fly it across the country, unload it, truck it to a Post Office, sort it, put it in a carrirer's truck, have it delivered to someone's house.
Or you can just have a coke. Got a buck?
I'll take a coke greensideout! I guess your going to tell us now that the USPS is highly organized! ????
Everything goes up^......except what I make.
It is a virtual free-for-all out there.
Every excuse in the book is used to dig deeper into your pockets.
Everybody has experienced increases.
Heating oil alone will cost me about $200.00 more this year then last.
Whos pockets do I dig into to cushion my increased outlay ?
It's gotten so that I really don't care to hear all the excuses thrown my way as to why basics (like food, heat, gasoline, electric) go one way (UP).
They certainly won't listen to why I cannot afford their increases.
Let em eat crow, tighten their belts and do without.....like me !!!

Hey---lol---I'm trying to make working for the USPS sound like a respectable profession because I work there---lol.
We don't make money, (we take a loss) delivering a letter or card across the country but we make up for the loss by earning money with advertisers, (the "junk mail" that you receive).
That is why you have the cheapest stamp costs in the world.
Send granny a letter or card, who lives down a dirt road in tim-buck-to and we will get it to her. Send her a sweater for Christmas and we will get it to her.
I work weekends, sat and sun. That's so you get your mail on monday.
Is there ANYONE here that has even one good word for us?---lol

I WILL NOT EVEN TRY AND SUGARCOAT THIS SO HERE IT GOES! That's some F**KING BULLS**T! Just another way for them and our Governmen to line their pockets even more. When will it stop, once stamps are up to 50 cents or even a dollar?
KISS MY ASS UNCLE SAM!
laugh all you want... I still the the USPS is the most unorganized system in our entire government, and that doesn't paint a pretty picture. I am not targeting you Greensideout... I am just simply saying the demand for the USPS is dropping because we are coming up with better technology. Sort of like the car to the horse and buggy. Enough said on this topic. I don't mind paying for what I use, and I'm sure I will purchase some of the higher price stamps, but guess what.. the bills I didn't pay online before, I will start. I will pay all my bills online and I will only use your mail system on a last resort basis. Maybe I will just say screw that and fed ex "Granny" (TO BAD SHE'S DEAD!!!) and damn card. At least I know it will get there then.

You are right Sgtj---new ways of doing business, to do it better in a different way is what brings progress---and yes, the USPS is a slow learner.
Snipnowsky, have you NO RESPECT? LMAO!

I got a legit question! When criminals that are convicted and fined for Mail Fraud, who gets the fines?
If the D.E.A. can confiscate drug dealers' cash and property, why can't the USPS?
That'd be sweet to see greensideout delivering Christmas Cards in some criminal's Mercedes S600 ;)

That would be a nice ride indeed! :)
Thanks for being the incouragement to go to work tomorrow, Sunday, so that America and the world will get their mail on Monday.
My personal feelings about your mail on Monday? Roll it up and stick it up your----------------coat to keep it dry if there is a chance it might rain.
:D
$.41 to pick up a letter at the house, deliver it anywhere in the country w/in a couple 3 days, sounds like a deal to me.

A lone voice out there is heard---lol.

41 cents? Sheet! I'm losing 26$ a pop each time a business client FedEx's me a payment. x4 is $104 bucks each month.
What would you do with $104 bucks of 'walking around money'? That converts to $126.53 in Canuck. That would be enough to pay my TV cable/internet plus 2 large pizzas a month!
mmmmmm....pizza!
