How do you pick out a Marine in a crowd? Is this possible just by observation? I was asked to do this just the other day. No words were spoken and I picked him out. How do you tell?

Got the same deal. I've bought a beer for every person I thought was a Marine. My only slip was when it was the dad of a Marine. Can't explain it. It drives my coworkers crazy!

You don't need a sign, it's that air of confidence. The walk, the talk...in most cases, it's just the way a Marine carries himself.

All of the above...Young or old the self confidence and pride shows thru...For me...I look at the eyes...seem to stare right thru you...they have seen beyond no doubt.

I agree with Toby M & gbudd.

You can see it in the way a Marine carries himself and how he looks (squared away).

It's how they the individual carries himself. I can spot a Marine in a crowd all the time drives my wife nuts.

Simpe - it is the bearing, the pride and the confidence that just oozes out.

Military bearing, pride, confidence can sometimes be confused with arrogance....well it's hard to be humble when you are a United States Marine.
