The United States Postal Service believes it is fitting to honor the Muslim community by creating a postage stamp:

However, they do not believe the 241 Marines killed in the Beirut, Lebanon bombing deserve a postage stamp. If you disagree with this, please support our Marines by signing a petition to honor the Marines who gave their life at the hands of muslim terrorists.

Signed the petition. It's about time we start taking care of the people who put their lives on the line every day as opposed to making other people feel good about themselves because they are "politically correct"

Signed and Sealed... after spending time with some of the 1/8 Marines (plus one heck of a Devil Doc) at the 21st, this has some real significance to me now, more than ever.

Signed. I was on active duty at that time (Oct. '83), going through MP 5811 training at Lackland AFB in San Antonio. I'll never forget how news of this terrorist act impacted the Marine Detachment at Lackland. It was very sombering. I didn't have the same combination of anger and sadness until 9-11-01.

Gentlemen, there will be a stamp out in late 2005 honoring four Marine heroes - according to the Postal Service Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, John Lejeune, John Basilone and another as yet unidentified Marine will compose the "plate blocK" - set of four linked stamps - for this set.
But I also signed the petition.....
