Saturday night,October 9th here in the Belleville/Ypsilanti area we lost a piece of History.
The hangar housing the Yankee Air Force and the Yankee Air Force Museum burned to the ground.
The Volunteers lost all their personal tools and equipment in
the fire which consumed the entire building.
I am personally heartbroke.There were many afternoons when I just wanted to smell a Flight line again and talk Airplane talk.
My Fathers flight gear was there in the Museum along with all his WWII era collection of "Flying" magazines.
Please,if you guys have anything at all in the way of artifacts,photos,magazines or Cash,please visit one of these two sites for information..........
