Knowing that all Marines support the Commander In Chief while on active duty (although this Marine was not in the All volunteer Armed Forces), I have constantly heard from the civilian side, but not the Active duty forces, and I guess if Vietnam was a "for instance" I can understand that. What are active duty, reserve, Army, Navy, Airforce, National Guard, Coast Guard's feelings about the war in Iraq, and Afgahnistan, and has anyone been approached as to how they would vote in the 2004 elections for a poll by any of the News agencies? By the way, if you can vote in an old SSGT. and think you might like to see how fast this 53 year old jar head can lose weight...please contact your nearest Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, and or the Commandant, President Bush, or the Afgahnistan, or Iraqi government. Life is real boring being a civilian, and the sounds and sights of tracer rounds across the TV screen don't lend credence to the real thing. Besides Bush is backdooring the draft anyway, and I want to see if my 5 years 10 months and 24 days counted for anything. Start a Poll!! Semper Fidelis Marines, and the other branches...? Semper Fi to you too! Dale

Dale Glasscock,
Even though I am a civilian I get asked by civilians all the time about how my Marine son and my DOD contracted son feel about the war in Iraq/Afghanistan. I tell them I don't know and unless they, my sons, say something to me about it I won't ask. It's frankly their business. This reply usually satisfies the questioning parties.
I am curious, just as you are, about how our Armed Forces personnel feel about the war but I also carry a general distrust of how the media would handle this kind of information at this time.
Hope that everything is going okay for you in Oregon.

Hello,
My two brothers and I have served in the military. I have just recently finished my 4 years active duty in the military. I have been out just about a year. I feel that G. Bush can offer the steady leadership that our troops need. In a POLL given to our troops, they voted for Bush instead of Kerry with a ratio of 4 to 1. Both my brothers just returned from Iraq, and they have both told my family to vote for President Bush. Older brother is in the Marines as I was, and has been nominated for a bronze star for his heroic efforts in Fallujah. My little brother is in the Army and is just returning from Iraq. There are times that the media can be so liberal and one way. They twist this way and that way. It is funny, because when John Kerry came in to Wendy's in North Carolina and told some Marines he was proud of them and that he supports them and the war. The Marines after he left made fun of them after they left the Wendy's. That is what their feeling is toward John Kerry. It is a disgrace when John Kerry can hang a flag UPSIDE down on the Iwo Jima monument(shown in a picture in the book called "The New War") and disgrace the troops who are still fighting and that have fallen.
