I would have to vote for George W. Bush. Democrats have been making up false ideas that the draft is being reinstated. Sen. Ted Kennedy stated that one. John Kerry called the reservist that have been called up "Back Door Draftees." That is criticizing those reservist that volunteered. Only people that should be worried are those that are voting for John Kerry. He wants to hold bilateral talks with North Korea, in which Russia, China will back out of negatiating with North Korea. In which can be summed up John Kerry and the United States would be on their own if something began there. Which would ultimatly leave Mr. Kerry no other choice but to reinstate the draft.
LET ALONE, REMEMBER HOW JOHN KERRY HUNG AN AMERICAN FLAG UPSIDE DOWN ON THE IWO JIMA MONUMENT PHOTO IN HIS BOOK. THAT IS A SMACK TO ALL SOLDIERS AND VETERANS ALL OVER.
GO BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:marine: Since 2000..I'm 100% for GW Bush...for all the conflicting rethoric...untruths and ambiguious assertions of both candidates [the debate process]...afterall that is said and done...I simplify my decision to the one most courageous solution Bush put into execution...the inherent right of free Americans to declare war on all Muslim World Terrorists/Etremiests that had a mendacious hand in the dastardly PREMPTIVE STRIKE upon the United States of America on Sept 11, 2001...several...I say again, several thousands of innocent Americans and foreigners were killed in that fiery moment seared into the pages of American history...the day we Americans have to go to the stack-decked United Nations [hat in hand to declare war] galls me to no end...with that behind him, President Bush [God bless him] declared America will go it ALONE to war against it's dreaded enemies, whomever!! Friggin' "A"....Semper Fi, Mac to the whole damn world out there!! :marine:
Can't see voting for a traitor. Gotta go with Bush.

I support Bush for many reasons, some mentioned above.
But, "Who will win"? I have my worries about that.
Many in America are so ignorant of Kerry's history and what he represents and will do today to distroy the very foundation of our great country and to turn it into what HE thinks it should be.
I say, no thanks John. Go find a country that fits you. France maybe?
If you love our country, love our freedom and love the American way of life as we know it, you have no other choice then to re-elect our Commander-in-Chief, President George W. Bush!

Hopefully Bush. Not for sure how many men there were on his (Kerry's) swift boat the 4 months he was in 'Nam, but I would think there couldn't have been much more than a squad. So does that make him a leader of men? That is not to say that everyone who has been a squad or fire team leader wasn't a leader of men. But, I would rather have a Marine corporal just back from Iraq or Afgahnistan leading the men/women of this country today instead of JFK. I'm thinking he has forgotten his past deeds, and surely doesn't expect that the majority of vietnam vets will soon forget them. SF, Dale
Not much of a decision if you have half a brain......President Bush all the way. As he stated after 9/11, "your either with us or against us".
Kerry wants to first get permission from FranceGermanyRussiaChinaEU to defend ourselves!!
Dubya for a multitude of reasons, character for one...kerry has none but he is one. He talks outta 5 sides of his mouth and then would subordinate us to the corrupt U.N.

Joe Lockhart emailed me, as has the Democratic Party by mistake. Evidently there is a Rita Barela out there that is involved in the Democratic Party and receives inside info, well somehow instead of Rita they have been emailing RBarela at my other email address and I received info that called upon all the democrat district officials to get their party loyalist to call into and email all the network polls during or following the debate.
The idea was to blanket the news agencies with pro Kerry votes as winning the debate, no matter what happened in the debate.
So that rounds up to 989,043 Democrats and 3 independent that are very liberal.... LOL

10-14-04, 10:10 AM
I watched the debate very carefully. (Only had one beer during the whole show.) I did not see a clear winner. A tie goes to the incumbant.
I saw several opportunities where Kerry could 'stick to the man', but he missed. He started his statements with really obtuse rhetoric, and then went into subtance. Not too effective.
The best Bush line was something like, "More of the same complaints, and no plan." That was simple and effective.

I have yet to understand the importance of the "Debates." I dont understand why people are looking for the most eloquent speaker to be the President. This goes to show the messed up mindset of Liberal Americans. I hear liberals all the time complaining how George Bush scowls during the debates. Who cares!! He is an outstanding leader and an honest man. There is go grey area with GW. If he says he's gonna do something...he is gonna try his hardest to get it done. Screw the debates....just vote for the best leader. GW!!

awb5711,
You may have hit the nail right on the head. Somehow the lure of looking good often takes precedent over substance. Heck, our whole culture is geared (liberals and conservatives included)
for that mindset.
Some say General Ulysses Grant was a fine and decent man who would have been a better President except for the fact that he surrounded himself with ill-advisors who he listened to. It didn't help that he had a drinking problem or that he wasn't a good looker or that he was an Army guy. (How many strikes against him does that get?) LOL
What I'm trying to hint at here is that you can be an outstanding leader and still be ill-advised. The great leaders will constitute appropriate changes expeditiously. The bad leaders will remain oblivious.
Sometimes folks do not necessarily vote for or against the Presidential Candidates per se, they vote for the political and influential mechanisms behind the candidates. In a way, this is what might determine who wins and who loses this Presidential Race.

The debates mean little to nothing.
"Vote for the best leader." Yes, that covers it for me.
I'm not going to vote for a man that better represented the enemy then America in a time of war as he did in the past, and may do in the future.
Not Fonda John Kerry!
The debates? Whoever thinks that they are meat on the table really needs to re-think the menu!

Nope, I disagree. Even the sanitized pre-agreed format yeild somthing for the 5% undecided.
Personally, I think both candidates proposed budgets and spending plans are something from Disney. How the heck are we going to pay for all these promised programs!
I'm in Winnipeg Canada. I used to look forward to US payments, Canada now has a surplus while the US has a deficit. The reality is that the US dollar has less value.
If you have less political clout, and less economic clout, you are losing the Super Power status.

Have to go with Bush, Cann't stand the two faced Kerry
Basically a vote for Kerry is a vote for marxism (ok that might be a little extreme, but if you look at the democratic agenda it's pretty darn close). A vote for Kerry is giving up our sovereinty to the U.N. :thumbdown More Government involved in your life. Loss of our fundamental rights sucha as the 2nd amendment. Like freedom of speech? It was Ok for Micheal Moore to make his fake documentary but God forbid Honorable Vets and POWs make a documentary... Bush isn't perfect, but there are so many things wrong with Kerry and his ilk that I could go on for ever, like appeasing the terrorist etc.

GO KERRY GO KERRY GO KERRY!!!! You people need to look at todays issues and stop dueling in the past. The Vietnam War was and still is a totally different type of war. No disrespect to the Vietnam Veteran, but that war is over!!! We are in a new era facing crazy terrorist, and all Bush can do is make up some crazy story about weapons of mass distruction. That was just an excuse to get the US involved in something that the rest of the world (UN)knew was wrong. Many young serviceman and women have died...for what? So Bush can finish what his father started? Why am I going to vote for someone that stubles his speeches and looks like a fool doing it? I truly feel that my life as a Marine is in danger because of our so-called commander-in-chief. What a leader. GO KERRY!!!

What Constitution did you swear allegiance to? The UN or The United States?
Your boy kerry made the Nam an issue, you should be able to see that, I mean you are a Sgt. of Marines right? You would rather have a liar('71 Senate testimony), traitor(met with the commies in paris three or four times)for CinC?
Dubya's Father liberated Kuwait, did you forget that? We're at war with jihadists, are you overlooking that? Where are they, do you have a clue?
One more question, are you active duty or reserve?

Thanks for the welcome, But I carefully read almost every reply and bashing Kerry is almost as bad. We must remember that Kerry is a U.S. senator and he is on the hill for a reason. I know that Bush is my CIC but that does not mean that I have to believe in what he does. I did took the plegde to defend this country against all enemies...and I will. I have a right to believe in what I want to believe in...like the rest of you. I feel that the Vietnam vets are a great part of our military history. They paved the way for us younger Marines, as did the past hero'sbefore them. I am not worried about grief...You are all my brothers/sisters and feel that you should embrace my views instead of pushing me and others away for having their own sets of beliefs. If others can post things like, "Kerry the dumbass" or "Duffus" and receive praise. Why am I going to get grief? Is it because I am not like the rest? I always obey orders and do what I have to do for this country...but we all know that at one point in our military careers we have had terrible NCOIC's or OIC's that were complete idiots...but we never told them. We simply went along with their orders. That is how I feel about Bush. Istead of telling him what an idiot I think he is...I am going to vote instead.
I do not want to offend anyone, I love every single one of you. I just want to voice my opinion. I think that is still legal, right?

This thread started as a poll...who's gonna in November? Well, after a few posts that went into depth, where it wasn't necessary, the thread has morphed into a discussion. YellowWing, I will not let you slip your jab at SwiftBoat Vets for Truth in without countering. You've left off the '71 Senate hearings where kerry LIED UNDER OATH to the committee, you've also left out kerry's three meetings with the VC and commie leaders in paris while still a NAVAL OFFICER. You also saw fit to omit kerry's meeting with Sandanista leader(commie backed)Daniel Ortega.
Just for the record

My main point was that today, even being loyal Marines, 16% of us are not voting to support GWB. And that's is translating to 48%-51% of the Nation. That is not convincing leadership.
We've been over the Swift Boat arguments for months. I want to see what happens tonight.
