femalemarine_89
01-07-05, 02:10 PM
No.. It had to go in the shop.. It was broken into less than 4 hrs after we had put the new cd stereo in it.. They knew what they wanted cause my husband had forgotten his new leather jacket and our new camcorder in the truck. and all they took was the stereo and the remote.. Hate to say it but it sounds pretty fishy to me.. I will never have anything done at circuit city or buy anything from there as well... Ended up having over 1400 worth of damage.

Finally! I was two hours late, at 1930 I cracked the Stolichnaya

Just in time too. On Stargate SG-1 TV show, Col Jack O'Neill ordered 4 air force security thugs to cover the exits of an air hanger.

So they all covered the same exit! My wife wondered why I was laughing at them for about 90 seconds. ;)

Recruiters School is in an Diego. It is 8 weeks long. The school itself isn't too hard. You gotta have charisma, and not be shy. The duty itself, while it sucks a majority of the time does have alot of perks.

Opportunity for promotions, and awards are awesome. I've gotten 8 merit masts, a NAM, a Cert Com, and about 6 plaques in a little over a yr. I go up for the merit board in April as long as my # stay how they are now. It is a long three yrs, but it has been worth it. Don't be mistaken though 3 yrs is more than enough. When it's good it's veeeeerrrryyy good...when it's bad, well you get the idea. Also I go to concerts, NASCAR, Indy 500, sporting events for free all the time. So it is what you make of it.

habe your friend pop me an email if he/she has any q's

We had a barracks party planned. Sgt. Fugere thought it would be great to have Margaritas. Problem was we didn't know how to make Margaritas.

So we went door to door asking other Marines how to make Margaritas. The funniest reply was from that brig guard, (that one that ended up in the brig himself).

"Do you know how to make a Margarita?"

His reply, "No, but I know how to make a rum and coke!" :D

bates_iyaoyas
01-07-05, 08:40 PM
Maintain a 2.0 net apr (contracts after discharges), and you're good. Anything above a 2.3-2.5 gets you merit SSGT...most of the time. They also look at your MCRD discharge rate as well. Gotta be...

femalemarine_89

If you want a copy...that can be done..........I took a ride in the back seat of a cruiser at the end of my Deputy days..the spot beside beside the Sheriffs(spelling?) was a motor cycle parking spot....I parked my Harley there every day......was warned by a lieutenant that was not sat....biker prejudice...and he said he would get rid of me.......he sure did.....was a good set up(i know everyone says that) ..had lotsa guns pointed at me that night. They planted pot in my jacket when i went to ****.......i know...you hear that all the time.....I was being groomed for undercover work till that one LT had a bug up his As* for whaqtever reason.

I had a head on back in '66 with a Cadillac. 360 degrees in the air without a tuck. Landed with a splat. Did a deep knee bend when I was being helped into the ambulance. The paramedics couldn't believe it. Had four stitches put "down below", without anesthesia and as soon as I exited the operating room an officer issued me a citation for an illegal left hand turn. I told him that I did not see the cadillac but if I was wrong, I was wrong. I took the citation and mentioned to him that he had a poor sense of timing. Helmet saved my life.

femalemarine_89
01-07-05, 09:26 PM
Oh I know how that goes.. I remember back in NC.. I was working a 2nd job delivering pizzas at night and on weekends and I was making a LEFT hand turn and had my turn signal on and everything.. Everything coming at me was clear.. I went to make my turn and some dumb chit.. come from behind me and went to pass me on the LEFT.. and hit my arss.. The state trooper that showed up gave ME the ticket.. He told me that Its the law there in NC to pass on the left even if you are turning left.. I think he was smoking crack that day.. It went to court and I didnt end up with the ticket.. The other guy ended up with it.. The guy was buddy buddy with the trooper.. You know something funny is up when he gets out of the squad car and they call one another by their first name.. Glad I had a camera at the time.. Took pics of skid marks and everything.. It helped..

It was Harbor Emergency on the Embarcadero in SF. Flashback!
Walk into the operating area, lay down. Out comes the doctor with a pair of everyday workmans pliers and a double edged Gillette Blue Blade-the same blade that used to sponsor Friday Night Fights on TV. What the **** is going on here?", I asked. Oh, I'm just going to shave you! My body was in shock but I still managed to ask, "Without Foamy?" We both laughed like hades and then he proceeded to sew me up.

I know when I had my accident that I had a lung that got punctured and collapsed.. I can remember to this day being in the room getting ready to have a tube inserted.. I was on the phone talking to my husband and told him what happened.. I paused with him to yell at the doctor who was cutting on me to insert the tube to wait till i was off the phone.. Talk about determination..

It's friday and it's time for beer! I could use a keg right now but the honey do list that awaits me at home kind of puts the damper on things. I hope that everyone has a good friday evening. I will toast you all.
Oldest son say's that he is trying to get emergency leave back to the States to see his Marine brother (before he gets deployed...if he does. If he does it will be his third time.) He will see his Mother and then he will come down to see me before he heads back. I will definitely drink to that! I asked him about pictures and he says he has some but he doesn't want to look at them because some of the pictures show "folks that aren't around anymore". He lost his knife but still carrys a mini Glock 40.cal and an M-4 with a halogen device around with him. I'm starvin' to see him and just be around him.
Darn it! The drinks are on me! Dowse yourselves in it if you wish 'cause I am a happy dude right now. I know that I am anticipating alot but I'm thinking nothing but positive thoughts. Down the hatch!
Adios.

I don't know about that, marinemom. He say's his Mother is about to have a nervous breakdown with both her sons (one for sure and the other one a possible ) heading back "over there".
He say's that I handle it better. I would say that it just sounds like I handle it better and all he hears are the sounds. Freaking out is not an option. It doesn't do anybody a darn bit of good...no one. Thinking positive is the only way to go and I think having this frame of mind opens a heck of alot more communication channels than by being and sounding negative.
My prayers are with you and yours as well.
What kind of suds are we in for this evening? Pilsner? Lager? Malt?
