Mine was $344.10 back in FY 75. It didn't seem like much back then, but it was alot to a young 17-18 y/o Marine!

Heck I though we did it for fun.

Humm 1967 Dont remember, but I think combat pay was about $13.00 or $33.00 more. Wish they would have paid us per quota. But then they would ahve deducted the price of the ammo used.

From the paychart for 66 that was $96.90 married so that would have made it $152.10 ~ Then son was born while I was in nam so that would have made it two dependants.. for a total of $180.00

Plus combat pay I'm sure it must have been about $33.00 or close to that amount so.

Hey about $225.00 I musta been rolling in dough...LMAO

In August 1961 I got a blazing $83.00 a month, was higher than most because I had one year Active Reserve.

In '69 when I went to Nam the combat pay had jumped to $50.00 a month with critical shortage MOS's getting an extra $100.00 a month.

My faded and clouded memory tells me $68/month as a new E-1 in 1962. I left active duty in 66 with a roaring $250/month E-4.

Funny thing was that change seemed to go as far as $5,000 a month today ! And I was getting laid a lot more then too ! Hmmm what does that say??

Semper Fi Marines !

Seems like it was $81 and some change for a new E-1 and after 4 months it went to$83.00 per month in 1961. Also seems like combat pay was $50.00 per month in 65 and 66.
