best price for the sword - www.totalnavy.com - almost 30% less than some other places and the same quality - I checked the one from them against my husband's 39 year old one.

They also have the sword knots at a much lower price but with quality

Does anyone know how much the NCO sword is on a Marine Corps base?

Sparrowhawk

last month said they run into $3-400.00.

I still have one sword left if you are interested.
The price on this one is $150 plus $20.00 postage...

only got one question tho........whattup with the star of david on the sword?

Fred Pfeiffer

It is generally believed that the "Star of David" symbol was likely used to signify that the blade was manufactured using the Damascus steel method and has nothing to do with the Jewish religious symbol.

The Damascus steel method was and still is the absolute best manufacturing method for combat sword blades designed to withstand direct hits against another blade weapon. It is not usually used for ceremonial blades that are the norm for most US military swords today. Just too expensive.

There is further discussion of the subject at this URL:

I hope this helps answer your question.

Fred

In case anyone is interested, I found Marine NCO (replica) dress swords on e-bay. They would be good enough for a display.

These swords are up for bid starting around 29 bucks, ya might want to check into them if all you want is one for a display

Sparrowhawk

They are brand new and you can buy one without having to bid for only $29.00, plus $14.95 postage.

The ones I'm offering according to the son of the Marine I got these from were used by Marines in Okinanwa for a few years, that's why they have wear on them. Most are about 8 years old. That does not add value to them, just that they once belonged to Marines.

OK boys and girls. I have a special request. I have been searching the internet for a couple of days now with no joy. I am looking for stickers/decals of the NCO sword. I would like to find, or have made, two NCO sword decals. They would need to be approximately 22 - 24 inches long, no more than 4-5 inches wide at the handle and be on a clear backing.
A little about my search. I have recently started terminal leave and my retirement date is 31 March. I am looking to repaint my bike, Kawasaki ZZR1200, and I want to do it in a "Patriotic" theme. I already found the other decals I need but this one is being a real pain in the arse to find. I will need them to be opposites of each other. One for one side of the bike and the other for the opposite side. The tip's of the blades will be facing the rear of the bike.
If anyone has seen any like this or know where I can get them made, please let me know. I would greatly appriciate and assistance anyone can give me.

I'll admit it. I bought one to practice sword manual and save the dings on the real deal. They look good online but the actual appearance and quality are EXTREMELY LACKING. I would not use it for display in any way, shape or manner.

Considering the meaning behind the item, I would spend the bucks and get the real deal, even for display. You will appreciate it in 10 years.

It is German, I believe the other choice is Spanish, but the German seems to be the best...
