MOVIE QUOTE:

What we have here is a total lack of respect for the law!

IT'S A MAD,MAD,MAD WORLD

MOVIE QUOTE:

If ever this mad, mad, mad, mad world needed "It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world" it's now!

Released in 1963, the film became not only one of the longest comedies ever filmed (nearly 5 hours
in its initial cut), but boasted the most impressive casts of Hollywood comedic legends ever
assembled: Sid Caeser, Milton Berle, Phil Silvers, Ethel Mermen, Jonathan Winters, Buddy Hackett,
Terry-Thomas, Dick Shawn, Mickey Rooney and Spencer Tracy. If that weren't enough, the film boasted
nearly a dozen additional cameos by Hollywood legends that included Don Knotts, Jerry Lewis, and even
The Three Stooges.

Clerks IS a classic!

not sure if I would call Smokey and The Bandit a cult movie though.

Evil Dead and Army Of Darklness are also great!

p.s. I've seen ALL of those movies you listed. Of course I am something of a nut. I went to the movie theatre 83 times last year, and have already been 72 times THIS year. ( I keep the ticket stubs)

Anything in film noire that stars Robert Mitchum - and of, course, Blade Runner ( especially the part when Harrison Ford is at the sushi bar and says 'My wife called me a cold fish), and The Rocky Horror Pixture SHow - anyone for doing the Time Warp - remember it is just a step to the left..............

If there was EVER a cult favorite, it should be "Rocky Horror". There is NO OTHER cult movie with such a devoted following. (Yeah, I went to UC Berkeley - so what?!)

For you oldies fans, "Auntie Mame" may ring a bell; "Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?" is another, and "All About Eve" is the prototype of ALL soap operas ever (and I HATE soap operas.)

For you oldies and political thriller-types, "The Manchurian Candidate" beats them all. (Angela Landsbury was kinda hot in that pic; Janet Leigh was a babe!) Oh: Sinatra was OK in it.

For you REAL oldies fans, you can't beat "Metropolis", "Nosferatu", "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari", and "M" - all horror/sci fi, but full of social commentary.

And, for a Marine audience, two films stand out (and no, not "The Sands of Iwo Jima", either):

"The D.I." with Jack Webb
"The Great Santini (The Ace) with Robert Duvall

"Gawd, what a DUMP!" - Bette Davis in "Baby Jane"

What was that spy movie with Orson Wells where he said, "the only thing Swedish democracy had prodiced was cuckooo clocks." (paraphrase) It ended in East Germany in a carnival?

All his movies were cult status.

Eddie and the Cruisers. I never get tired of it.
And Full Metal Jacket.
I get embarrassed watching the D.I., maybe because I was in it.

kentmitchell,
This movie may never rate as a cult favorite but my twin bother and my Karate Instructor were in it. Title: The Killer Elite with James Cann. Alot of guys I knew were in it. It was filmed in the San Francisco Bay Area.
As memory serves me, I believe the tech. crew showed up late in China Town (they were suppose to be there early in the morning to film the Tai-Chi and Shaolin exercises being performed in Portsmouth Square.) Since the crew had arrived late and the extras, including my brother, had been waiting for about two hours, the crew decided to invite one and all for an early lunch, alcohol and all. When filming began everyone was somewhat plastered and when the extras had to do a scissor kick... they all landed right but wobbly. LOL I watch to movie because of my brother, friends and location.

The other film I really enjoy is The Sand Pebbles (China Sailor) with Richard Crenna and Steve McQueen.
