I think I'm going to send "The 5 Star General Eric A. Lake" some mail!;)

I just hope they don't thrash the boy to hard! lol My uncle who is a Marine Master Sgt. did that to me while I was at Boot Camp. And I still remember the thrashing I got for that, and if Lake gets even half of what I got. I feel real bad for him.

Well I will for about a half second, but that's about it!

Semper Fi Lake, welcome to our world!

lmao @ HardJedi!

He'll make it. His Grandfather and father did, so I'm sure he'll have no problems.

The olny thing that could possibly stop Eric short of his goal will be if his shin splints come back again in full force, and even then he knows he will have to push trhough the pain. Good luck Eric! (Sgt Dan)

I'm thinking of printing a 4th RTBN pic on the back of an envelope. That should get the quarterdeck nice and wet....

Dear Eric,
It is still not too late to reconsider your enlistment into the United States Army. While the marine corps is a sister service, the selection of MOS (Military Occupational Skill) or job selection is limited. Here in the United States Army, you have over 214 MOS designators that you can choose from.

Please consider this offer and feel free to give us a call at 1 (800) USA ARMY on one of your breaks during the week. As always, we support our troops.

Post cards work wonders.

If you want the Drill Instructors to read anything and everything you have to say, just send a post card.

Looks like Lake is going to be getting thrashed a whole bunch, considering he'll be getting a lot of mail from Leatherneck.com members. And he has CrazyBrave83 to thank for his mailing address being posted to all of Leatherneck.com! lmao

Who needs enemies with friends like that? JK

I'm going to do what my aunt sent to me, a package of condoms. I reluctanly got them out of the box before the Drill Instructor saw, but I did turn them in to my SDI the next day.

I really hope that this is just a lot of talk. Something like these ideas happening once would be funny. If it happens over and over like people are suggesting here we would all just really look pretty stupid, inmature, and petty. Think before you send.

nah, I don't think I would do most of it. simply because of the lack of a control factor, much like you say Echo. though, when I was in boot, I got stuff with half the girls names in high school on the outside, letters on navy stationary telling me they loved me, army envelopes telling me Marine Corps DI'S sucked, and a ton of other things, including a letter from a good buddy of mine asking me on the outside of the envelope why i wanted to kill babies.

after MANY MANY of these things, my DI'S simply asked me why my friends wanted to make me so strong? Were they masochistic? knowing I was gonna Graduate and come home and kick their tails with all the strength they had "helped" me aquire?

I went through my share of it as well. I did receive an honest to goodness recruiting letter from the Navy (Have to love the USPS for forwarding mail I suppose... I don't know how else it could have ended up under my nose on the quater deck), plenty of porn pictures from buddies already in the fleet, a couple of letters addressed to PFC Bell, and the like. But, if we all decided to jump in and play, that would be nothing. Poor Lake may get 100 a day. Nobody needs to be that strong.

I was on the quarterdeck almost daily for letters sent to me, doing something foolish like playing the platoon clown for the day or just straight up making my SDI mad as hell. It's all in fun. I DID GET STRONG THOUGH!

If I can handle the quarterdeck daily, any man can. Then again being thrashed by the Drill Instructors killed the monotony. So I didn't mind being thrashed more then any other recruit in my platoon. I actually started to enjoy it, and they knew this so they quit doing it to me in 3rd Phase. After that was over it was cake. And I have my fine Drill Instructors to thank for that!

All Gulf War decorated combat vets too. Still to this day I try to live my life by the lessons they taught us. Very good Marines they made us!

They got their games. And us recruits had ours. lol
