For over 30 years, I had been wondering where my former VMO-3 squadron mates where and what they were doing. About 1 1/2 years ago, after finding a web site (www.popasmoke), I found the names of a few of these men and contacted them. It has been a wonderful experience keeping in touch with many of the guys through emails and phone calls.

After initial contact, I learned that several of them had been looking for me. Unfortunately, the timing wasn't the greatest because I learned that the semi-annual reunion had taken place in Pensacola just a few monthw beforehand.

I have been waiting 1 1/2 years for this year's reunion to see my old buddies and share lullabies, legends and lies. The 2004 reunion will be held in Reno, Nevada July 8-11. I am now 59 years old and have an excitement and anticipation for this reunion that I haven't had in years. Guys that I haven't seen in over 35 years - I feel like I'm going home.

Welcome Aboard to the Best Marine Site on the net. Also welcome to your home away from home................
We have a great crew of Marines in here from WW II to the present............
Throw your sea bag in a corner, pull up a footlocker, sit and chat awhile.........

"AGAIN WELCOME ABOARD."

POPASMOKE is a great site (Not as good as Leatherneck.com) good history and great pics.

Have a blast at the reunion. If you go! And if you do, stop by the sunset cafe tent. A guy (cobra type) heads it up. His name is Dan DeBlanc.

Sempers,

Mike
