wrbones thanks about the advice with wife, they have her strap to a chair for 5-6 hours a day with a machine moving her arm up and down.
She won't let me get kinky and strap the rest of her down. Womin, who can figure them out? LOL
Barndog, I love those long drives, worst driving I ever di was between New Mexico and Texas with thunder storms and lighting that came at you sideways.
Well we finally got rain, its been since December so my grass was turning yellow. Why water when nature is suppose to do that.
Well off tot he train station b back later. With wife in bed I figure Im going to be styaing at home taking care of her for the next few days..
Humm, maybe I can hire a nurse to do that... hummm, a redhaired green eyes nurse....http://www.slu.edu/colleges/NR/images/sidebar_pic.jpg

Goodmorning
Sure can use a cup of coffee.......Smells great Bones....Thanks.....
Well our big snow storm...decided to whimp out yesterday.....I guess I should be happy...but all it did was cause us more problems and it brought back the cold weather.....LOL....
Cook....I can never figure out women.....Ellie always is changing her mind...so I can never figure which way to go.....LOL.....
Osotogary.....that looks like me in the morning.......LOL
Thanks.......
Barndog that was my life, before....being in field service...my job was traveling to accounts....It was nothing to say just for the job I drove 40,000 miles a year......Now I sit back, but sometimes they still need me...so out on the road I go.....but nothing like those years.......
Well all have a good day.............
Sempers,
Roger
Thanks for the coffee this morning. Its good to hear everyone doing well. I hope it isn't too cold. Have a nice day....

Thanks for keeping the coffee going Bones. Had a 3 hour commute this morning (rain & light snow). Have you picked out Mount Chesty yet (should dominate Rushmore).
Cartoons are great as usual Gary.
Hope you wife is well is Sparrowhawk.
Semper Fi's to you all. Lurchenstein out!
Bones,
this is the first time I have jumped in here. Usually, sit and drink my Jack Daniels flavored coffee and browse thru all the different places here. You all make my days not seem so mundane. Of course, ya'll gotta come down here to Texas and have some of our good coffee. Keep up the great work. Best to your family and to all the guys here. Gotta get more Jack in this coffee.

'Mornin' folks! COffee's on! Grab a cup and find a place to park it fer a bit! It's early yet! Relax and get yer day sorted out! Make sure yer eyes are open first! Ya hit the ground runnin' before yer eyes are open good is a decent way to get wrecked! LOL
NEWB, Joyce, and all the rest of ya, don't be afraid to speak up. But. Like I've said before, morning coffee is a good place to just kick back, drink yer coffee and hear what everyone else has to say! I hope yer comfortable here. That's what mornin' coffee is all about. Relaxin' and seein' what's goin' on and maybe if yer lucky have some decent company fer a bit before ya start yer day!
Ya know, if yer day is kinda mundane, that's a good thing. I remember too many days in my life that weren't so mundane, but I was younger then...and didn't really appreciate a good cup of coffee either! LOL. Mundane things. Drivin' to work every day. Gettin' up, fixin' coffee, readin' the paper, talkin' with the ol lady fer a bit, watchin the news. Breakfast. Havin' decent clothes to wear, a roof over yer head, a reliable car. Boring ain't it? Playin' with the kids, changin' diapers, and all of a sudden yer watchin' yer little girl kiss her ol man! LOL. As boring as life seems, there's always somethin' that seems to catch us off guard, at least momentarily. Things that can irritate ya at the time, maybe. Make ya take another look at yerself and yer motives. Maybe even make ya re-think yer strategy. LOL. Kinda like seein' more grey hair on yer head every day, maybe! LOL.
We trade one thing fer another as we grow older, I think. Hopefully we're tradin' youth and strength for wisdom and peace. Hopefully we're tradin' excitement and adrenaline for stability and strength. Damn, I'm startin' to sound like a fortune cookie again! LOL.
Warm up yer coffee, folks! It's a good day! ;) Ya got another opportunity to get things right! If yer lucky, you'll got it done better this time!
I got the comics and the front page when the paper gets here!

Mornin' y'all... I'm at work again... doing some OT to help cover a few bills and a bit of over spendin the wife did this past month. I know it was her, I don't got any money! LOL
Well, just a quick note before I get back to doing a bunch of nothing and then get my 3-4 hours sleep to come back and do it all again.

'Mornin' folks! Coffee's on! Paper'll be here inna bit! Grab cup and a sit and get yer head wrapped around the idea of wakin' up! LOL.
Got kinda interesting in here fer a bit yesterday, but it's all good now I hope. Like I keep sayin', mornin' coffee is a place to sit and relax. Kick back and get yer head wrapped around the yer day and maybe enjoy some good company. Listen to other folks visit or join in fer a bit yerself, if only to say "Howdy." Maybe just sit and have a decent cup of joe. It's a time and a place that becomes comforting. It becomes a habit. A good habit. A place to maybe think about things fer a bit that ya wouldn't normally consider or have time to consider. It's a place and a time to look beyond yer situation fer a bit and consider, thoughtfully, where yer at, where yer goin', and maybe how to get there from here. A time to share yer troubles maybe without gettin' screwed with or screwin' with someone else. A time to joke and tease, perhaps, but without meanness or malice. Maybe even a time to consider politics, religion and football! LOL.
Morning Coffee is a friendly place. A refuge from the rest of the world for at least a few minutes outta the day. It's a place out of our past...and a place to look towards the future. A timeless place between dusk and dawn. A place to consider ways of meeting that future without fear of rejection for thinking out loud ...what others dare not say in other venues.
Morning coffee is home. A refuge and what I call, " A place to get out of the weather." It is a sanctuary, however fleeting and temporary, from the storms of life. It is a place to get yer mind and soul refreshed for the day ahead. It is a place wherein you know that you aren't alone, and for a few minutes at least, you are a part of something more than you are by yerself. A place of mundanity. A place of re-freshing. A place of relative peace. It is a social and yet a private place.
Morning coffee is community and community is acceptance. Yer home here.
Leave all that stress and discomfort and pain at the door fer a bit and kick back and relax.
Warm up yer coffee, folks. It's a good day! What? Hell yer alive ain't ya! That's a pretty good start! It's a new opportunity! A new chance to get it right! A new opportunity to get it better maybe. Take advantage of it!

Good morning Bones. I see you have the watch again (perpetual Duty NCO).
We're getting drenched down here in SO CA. Needed a fording kit to get my car home tonight. (Headlights were submerged in 1 dip near the house.) Over 3" of rain in the last 2 days (annual rainfall is about 8"-10" here).
Lights out here. Best regards to you there.

Morning folk. It's 4:22 AM here in Texas. The weather is nice and the coffee pot is on. The smoking light will go on in a few moments. Now a days I seem to wake up earlier and earlier. I want to comment on why Russia, France and Germany are supporting us. We save their butts as it is written in history. But we really don't need them. It make me angry for them to hold out. We know they have a vested interest in Iraq. With them or without we shall prevail. Our nation is a great nation. We are a super power and we don't go and invade and take over countries like other have . Remember, the United State got hit by cowards . We always announce what our intentions before we go and settle the score.
I would like to post a question to you all out there. Do you really think that Turkey, a moderate Muslim state, will get hit with scud missles from Iracq?

time to complaint a bit, thanks Bones for the coffee, needed it this morning.
Yesterday was a busy day, because of the rain... need to back track a bit....
Tuesday night my daughter Deborah is off on her way back to college in Santa Barbara. She came home to check on her mom after her mom's shoulder operation. Remember operation I mentioned before and how they have her strapped to a chair with mechanical device exercising her strapped arm, up and down and sideways, remember I was complaining because she wouldn't let me strap her down other ways, LOL, but that's another story. Anyways my daughter called to say she's been involved in an accident.
Of course I woke up from a dead sleep and was out the door and on the freeway in about three minutes. She's a good hour away in Glendale, and she sounded upset, on the phone.
Rebekah my oldest daughter was the first one out the door, and is driving me. Before leaving home I remember my other daughter Serah, second oldest looking at me and wondering what I was dressed up so funny for. White socks, levi's, green plaid jacket, black beret, high top shoes and a black t-shirt.
By now I am coordinating grid cordinances, air strikes, and calling in some back up forces from the neighoring area.
Actually all I did was asked my daughter if she was hurt?
She wasn't. Is she out of harms way? She's off to the side. Her left front tire blew and she spun out in traffic striking the guard rail. No other cars involved.
She has called the triple "A" Auto club, they will be there in about twenty minutes.
Meanwhile my daughter that is driving is calling on friends near by to come and wait with my Deborah until we get there.
Deborah calls back and says Highway Patrol is stopping to see about the accident. She calls back shortly to say they moved her off the freeway and there is no accident report, the tow truck driver is there and cant get the trunk open because of the damage. he wants to know if I want the car towed to Riverside, 60 miles away. Yes, we have extra coverage that will cover up to 100 miles. then he'll have to return with a different tow truck.
Deborah however can get to her emergency packet in the back of the trunk through her back seat and gets it . Remember the emergency packets I made up for all of them right after 911.
Water, food, warm clothes blanket, P-38, cans of peaches, etc, all there in case she is struck someplace when a national emergency occurs.
We get there and the tow truck to take her to Riverside calls he will be delayed until 4:00 so we wait.
It seems like my daughter Deborah had struck something in the freeway as three other cars had done the same thing and were all disabled and damaged alongside the freeway. While we were there another car also struck something out in the freeway that we couldn't see because of the rain storm, but no one is seriously hurt.
We get home wenesday morning just in time to go meet with community members at Starbucks for my morning coffee.
The rest of Wednesday is taken up with having the car towed to the garage, arranging for a rental, calling insurance company, then that evening I drive deborah to school and got back early this morning. Then off to take Joannah to train station, at 5:00 this morning.
Thursday morning and getting dressed to see wht this new storm will bring... But I love the rain.

This is a good thinking. I've been thinking and dinking about this question of yours. Wish I could tell the future. It is my thoughts, right or wrong, that anything can happen over in the middle east.
My suggestion is to spray valium over the entire region for an entire week. Get everyone to calm down. Turn them all over to a drug treatment clinic (Hey Betty - got enough rooms?) and let them make amends to each other and they can all start to live life all over again in one of those 12 step groups ((I am powerless over Saddam and my life is unmanageable) (Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity (The US of A)).
In lieu of those flights from reality. If the Great Saddam is willing to test on his own people the grade and quality of his biological and chemcial weapons, who is to say he wouldn't use a weapon on a neighbor muslim state. But he must be careful, otherwise, the other muslim states would be able to justify attacks against him. These are turning into desparate times for good ol'Saddam. His days are numbered. He knows it. He feels it. Will he "crack" under the pressure? Too bad he doesn't enjoy the wise counsel of his soul mate, Jane Fonda.
Well, my brain is shot. That my use of brain power for this month. Need some good coffee. Perhaps some real creme instead of the cheap store bought power stuff.

I am NOT powerless over saddam and the ragbags. I do NOT accept that the idiots are going to wreak havoc and discontent upon my Nation. I will NOT accept that pantywastes who are unwilling to fight and cower behind their money and power will beg for people like US to defend the Homeland, while they throw missles and spew political hatred and cowardness across this world.

'Mornin' folks! Coffee's on! Ya better grab a cup and find a squat somewhere! Paper'll be here directly! We'll worry about the rest of the world then!
I haven't been thinkin' of too much today. Just had that alert on my mind like most of us I reckon. There ain't too much I can do being a poor country boy tryin' to become a town kid again! LOL. I don't figure I'm in a place that's gonna catch too much terrorist attention til summer hits anyway. There'll be tourists around by the tens of thousands and Mt. Rushmore just a 20 minute crive away. There's better targets anyway than some piece of rock. Plus they got it sealed off pretty tight. Yer gonna play hell climbin' up there and get away with it! LOL.
I do think about folks who can't affard that duct tape and plastic who're livin' in places where there might be more of threat. They're the ones who can't afford to put food back or extra containers for water or such. Like others, they don't have the cash fer NBC gear of any kind unless it's given to them. On and on with that sort of thinkin'.
Me. I seen and heard the beast in other venues than some around here. He don't worry me too much. Like stayin' inna motel. When it's time to check out, it's time to check out. Let 'em make up the bed and clean up the room fer someone else to get some use out of! LOL. Ya do what ya can to put that day off of course, but once ya done all ya can, ya done all ya can! LOL.
Some things are worth the effort, I reckon. But we all seem to forget that we're not gonna be around forever as individuals and there ain't a damn thing you can do about that! Ya face the facts, deal with it and move on. Keep livin'. Keep motivatin'. Keep doin' everything ya can to make things right for the yerself, yer family and the next guy so that hopefully, when it is time to check out, ya made things a bit better than they were when ya got here.
Some things don't get me too excited. I ain't like some when an emergency happens. I get all calm and ****. Freak out later sometimes, LOL, but in the middle of it, I don't get too excited, usually. When it comes to that terrorism and duct tape and plastic stuff, well, don't let these things mess with yer head too much. Prepare best ya can. Do what ya can ahead of time to be ready and worry about the important things in life. Lovin' yer family and friends and doin' the best ya can to give the next guy a hand up so that he's able to deal with things on his own. Makin' sure what principles ya have are stiill doin' the job for ya, that sort of thing...and...
...warmin' up yer coffee and gettin' yer day sorted out before ya head out the door. ;)
It's all good, folks. We'll get it sorted out. One thing at a time, first things first, settin' priorites....sooner or later we'll get it right. Might even do it better! It's a new day, folks! A new opportunity! Take advantage of it!

See....
A couple weeks ago, I was just another ******* tryin to figure it all out.
Bones says he don't compete? Hey, I figure it's good intellectual stimulation. What works for 1stSgt Mike or Dirfter, or Bones, may not work for me....... like Earle and I were talkin about 12 step programs - take what ya need and throw away the rest. It's all about what seems to work for you. Hell - just because it works for the person you might be married to - doesn't mean it's gunna work for you.
The key word here is 'perspective'. Mine gets tainted - sure. That's life as an ADHD person. That's also sometimes why I miss the discipline of the Marines so much. Same for the inherent focus and demands of aviation maintenance. You don't have time for your mind to wander around aimlessly.
That's the primary reason you can put me in a hangar with a boatload of Hueys and OH-58's and I'm completely at ease. It's just like being home for my BHG.

'Mornin' folks! Grab a cuppa joe and cop a squat somewhere! Coffee's on! Paper'll be here inna bit!How the hell ya doin' this mornin'! Well, that's what's coffee's for! Gets yer eyes open and yer brain to workin'! Ah, artificial stimulants! What would we do without them! LOL.
I ain't thought this through yet. I had visited about it before...I think. When we was talkin' about bein' transparent awhile back, but the thought came up again yesterday when I was foolin' around watchin' some of the kids on the site.
Anyway. I had some things goin' on and folks talkin' nice about me and I got to thinkin'. Not bein' real comfortable with compliments I do my best to be nice and say thank you if I can force it out, 'cause I know myself a bit. Been livin' with myself fer awhile now and some things I kinda regret. The last eighteen-twenty years I been tryin' to make up fer some of the stuff I screwed up when I was younger. You could say I just learned better...finally. LOL. Some folks are blessed with knowin' better to start with, the rest of us have to sort it out for ourselves! LOL. So another topic we've visited about before comes up and ties into this. Knowin' yerself. Ok, Ok, I'm gettin' there, just hold on fer a minute! LOL.
Al in all, it's just me. The grumpiness, the good stuff that I happen to say now and then, the regrets, the strengths, the weaknesses, it's all me. I try to see the balance of all of that I've said and done and I try to do my best to be a bit better person the next go 'round. Bein' real as I can be. Overall, it ain't a bad way to live....
...but it is kinda scary sometimes. Bein' transparent. ;) Part of growin' up. When ya stop growin', it's just the same as stoppin' yer learnin'. When it happens, I hope they're throwin' dirt in yer face...'cause yer dead already. Be real. It's an interesting way to live.
Warm up yer coffee folks! It's a new day! a new opportunity! Get yer head wrapped around yer day and go take advantage of it. We'll get it sorted out one of these days! LOL. Maybe! LOL.

Good morning or should I say, good afternoon.
I have been on vacation all week and have had the wonderful opportunity to read the morning coffee greetings all week long. Great stuff, better than what I just paid 35 cents to read.(Miami Herald). Had to hit the road at 0800 and didn't get a chance to enjoy the hot brew that was being poured. Instead I'm having a brew, a cold one and with it I toast you all and wish you a good day.
Additionally:
I heard that coffee was first discovered in Yemen by a shepherd. He saw his sheep munching on some sort of berrylike bush and then noticed how his sheep were getting very active. He boiled some up and virtually discovered coffee which turned out to be the ideal way for a moslem to get a buzz without alcohol. But hey, don't let this unsubstantiated tid-bit of info.destroy the morning ritual. The coffee is great here, no matter who discovered
it.
Adios from South Florida.

'Mornin' folks! How the hell are ya! Coffee's on! Ya better grab a cup and try to get yer eyes open! It's Sunday! Ya gotta get ready fer the afternoon nap! LOL.
Personally, I think takin' naps oughta be an international law! Things might settle down if more people took naps. If nothin' else they wouldn't have as much time to get in trouble! LOL.
You know. I don't have a thing to visit over today! I ain't been thinkin' about too much, just kickin' back fer once. That damn easy chair of mine is what got me to thinkin' of naps. I spent four hours sawin' logs in the dang thing this afternoon! On the other hand, I didn't get into any trouble, either.
That easy chair ain't much to look at, but it sure is comfortable. Near every one who sits in it goes to sleep. Got one or two folks who stop by who've learned to sit up straight and sit on the edge of the seat if they don't want to nap out! Got some who drop by who insist on sittin' in the kitchen! LOL.
I take that as a compliment when folks are comfortable enough in my house to relax that much. They feel safe here. Ain't no one gonna jump them or mess with their heads...'least not too much anyway! LOL. When the biggest risk someone runs in yer house is nappin' out in the living room, you might be on to something. I can't put my finger on that something, but it's around my house somehow, somewhere, someway. Ya know what. I don't mind havin' that 'something' around mt house a bit.
Warm up yer coffee, folks. It's a new day! A new week! We'll get it right this time. Might even do it a bit better! After all,it's a new opportunity. Enjoy yerselves....but take advantage of it.

Morning all...
I can't believe I'm up late enough to get back on this site! Been a hell of a week - I'm killing myself. Don't worry, it's slow and painful, so it's gonna be a while before y'all get rid of me! Did an 80 hour work week - Sun thru Sat. Been a long while since I've done one of those. Then, to top it all off... near the end of my 16 hour day - the last one of this 80 hour work week - I get two knucklehead who wanna fight in my day room. I don't really care if they fight - but ya take that to the yard! Had to close up the day room, quite a bit of blood on the floor. One guy got his nose split open pretty good - the other had minor scratches and bruises on his face and upper body. The one with the split nose had to go to medical, he was a bit woozy.. walkin like a sailor near midnight in Olongapo... LOL Anyway, it's all that aftermath stuff we gotta do... clean up, pick up property.. 'course, I got to misconduct reports to right... wrote 'em good. I always let my inmates know, ya screw me over on my Friday, I'll make it worth my while. Nope, don't lie on 'em, don't need to... I just use some of them important words and phrases that catch the eye of the hearings officer.
So now, I've got another trade coming up, so I'll be goin' back to work right in the middle of my weekend to work graveyard tomorrow night. Well, I figured if I gotta be at work on my weekend (I'm doing another one of them trades) I might as well see if I can make money, so I signed up for some overtime as well. Yeah, glutton for punishment - but it pays well. Wife was gettin a bit agrivated that I wasn't home so much and cramped her style some - having to take the kids with here when ever she went some place. Then I told her what the approximate extra take home was gonna be, she ain't griping too much anymore - go figure. Yeah, I know... why do it if I'm gonna complain about it... well, I don't do this too often and this past couple weeks I've hit it a bit hard and heavy. Besides... If I ain't gripin, something must be wrong! LOL This does, even beyond the paycheck, get me a few extra days off to spend with the family and not use any of my vacation time up. It all works out, I suppose.
Yeah, Bones... gotta love them comfy easy chairs. Got one myself, it too is a bit ugly... worst thing about it right now is, ain't no room in the living room for it! Puts a damper on things, for sure.
Well, y'all take care and have a great day...

Having a cup of coffee with a batch of Hershey's kisses (almonds), brought them cheap 50% off yesterday in Phoenix, the check point guy on the California State line was asleep when I drove through at 2:00 am this morning, so I didn't have to declare the almonds, smuggled inside the Hershey's kisses.

'Mornin' folks! How the hell are ya this mornin'! Coffee's on! Ya better get a cup and get yer eyes open! LOL.
I ain't really got anything this mornin'. Just somethin' I been wonderin' about from a couple weeks ago. I said somethin' about youth and old age and such and I didn't really get said what I wanted to say, so I thought I'd go back and look at it again fer a minute or two. Of course, I never really get things said right, but wth! I like to try! LOL.
There's a strength that comes with youth that we lose as we get older. Physical, even mental strength to some extent. We've learned that we can't do everything as we get older. As a matter of fact, there's a helluva lot we just better not even try! LOL. But like I said before, what we get in exchange is some wisdom and experience and we've learned some life lessons that we really didn't pay as much attention to when we were younger. We gain a strength of soul. A strength of spirit. A strength of peace and wisdom. That is what I meant when I said previously, " The strength of youth." and "the strength of age." So no matter where we are in life, we have strength, it's just that the strength is not what we were once used to. In time we come to recognize this, but only through many trials, life's experiences and lessons along the way.
I wouldn't trade what I know now fer bein' young again...although I would like to have the younger version of my body back....someone's kidnapped it or something.....
If they want a ransom, I'm screwed!
Warm up yer coffee folks! It's a new day! We can get it right this time! Who knows, we just might get it done better this go 'round!

Have to share this one folks - it just goes to show that there are folks in the world wh appreciate the Corps the way we do.
My next door neighbor is an Afghan who came here several years ago - and he thinks my son walks on water because he is a Marine and, according to him, "the Marines saved my country".
I gave up on the snow shoveling about 2 hours ago - had the car half way out and said enough. About 10 minutes ago there was a knock on my door - and when I opened it there was a guy I did not know - who said " Are you the Marine's mother? If so, please bring your keys and come start your car."
My Afghan neighbor had gotten some of his friends - and my car was totally shoveled out and cleaned off - path to the street made for me, too. And when I said thanks, the reply was "This is for your son" - not a bad world today, folks. Not bad at all.

You buncha whine asses. 21" Thats flurries fer gawds sakes. SHEEEEEEEEESH. 2 years ago, 2 weeks before Christmas we got 42" of snow in 4 days. Ran out of our salt budget before the end of the year. (LOL) THAT wasn't funny. When I lived in the Western UP with my Bro Leroy, we got 280 " that winter. I drove from his place in the Western UP ( Upper Pennsula of Michigan) to Milwalkee and BACK in a blizzard of 30+", in a 1982 Chevy Citation. We called it the 'Cancermobile' - there wasn't much left on the vehicle body wise. It was 100% reliable and sound, everything worked. We had to weld floorboards into it...
1967......... Blizzard.... I remeber drifts 12-14' high
we couldn't get out for 4 days trying.

'Mornin' folks! How ya doin' this mornin'! Coffee's on! Grab a cup and get comfortable somewhere! Paper'll be here directly...'cept fer you east cost types. It might be late today! ;)
All this talk about snow, the next thing you know, you'll be out havin' snow ball fights and buildin' snowmen and snow forts or something! LOL. Ain't a damn thing wrong with that, either! Fergettin' to have fun once in awhile is just like learnin'. When ya ferget how, it's time to be havin' dirt throwed in yer face! LOL. Well, a snowball anyway! LOL.
I been thinkin' a bit today! Yep! Here it comes! LOL. No, I'll keep it kinda short today. LOL. I've run into this one a few times lately, and I've kinda touched on it over coffee before, but today, it hit home. I got kinda aggravated! Shut up and drink yer coffee! I'm tellin' this! Anyway, I asked a kid a question today and he came back with "Well, blah, blah, blah." I said, "Wait a minute. That's not what I asked ya. Answer the question I asked ya!" I'll give the kid credit! He answered me that time! LOL. Some won't or can't, fer whatever reason. It ain't just kids, either, fer cryin' out loud. I do remember bein' that way when I was younger...until I got to MCRD anyway! LOL. I don't think I was as bad as some, but we all think that way, so I reckon I can't hide behind that excuse, can I! LOL.
We sometimes get so involved in ourselves that we don't think about listenin' to other folks or what they're sayin' or tryin' to say 'cause we're too busy thinkin' about what we're gonna say next! There's a lot of things behind that that I won't go into today, not in any depth anyway. I ain't no expert but I do have some thoughts on the subject that made sense outta it fer me. It took a few years of psych classes and such to give me a glimmerin, but I got an idea.
What? A hillbilly who can't build a paragraph and takin' psych classes? Well, some things should remain mysteries don't ya know. One of these days I just might tell ya! LOL.
Where was I anyway....
Oh, yeah. Gettin' to the point. I learned to pay attention to every word that folks say in every sentence. The way they say it, their body language and all that, too. Women can still buffalo me, but I'm learnin'! :D I'm kinda slow on the uptake sometimes so I have to do that. I still 'miss it', but not as often as I used to. LOL. I'm not thinkin' about what I'm doin' next or what I'm doin' tomorrow or anything like that. I'm listenin'. Now if ya catch me when I'm busy as hell, it's another story. Communication skills work both ways. Ya gotta pick the right time to speak to be sure yer understood! There's two sides to this story! LOL. Ya can't expect good communications if yer hammerin' on someone who's busy as hell. Ya gotta get their attention first! LOL.
I ain't sayin this right, but I think you get the idea. We're back to payin' attention again! LOL. When someone's askin' ya a question, it might be worth while to take a second and pay attention to what their sayin' so that you can answer the question they're askin'! ;)
Now I went and forgot what the question was....
Oh, well! Warm up yer coffee, folks! we'll get it sorted out! One of these times we'll do it better , too! In the meantime, get yer day sorted out before ya hit the road! We got a new opportunity, folks! Take advantage of it!

'Mornin' folks! Glad to see ya! How the hell ya doin' this mornin! Coffee's on! Grab a cup and get yer eyes open! Paper'll be here directly! Until then, kick back and get yer day sorted out before ya get rollin'!
I ran across a bit of one of my old bits of scribblin' today by accident. I was lookin' fer another old bit of scribblin' I'd done! LOL. I found the one I was lookin' for. Bad doggerel...well It wasn't meant to be that way, but when I see it now....Bad? or doggerel? Both dammit! LOL. Anyway I ran across somethin' else. I wrote it fer quite another venue, but I can make some changes so that it'll work here and say what I want it to. Now come on. I hadda change it. You don't want me preachin' here. That's what it is. An old sermon. Didn't know I did some preachin' at one time did ya! LOL. Don't look so shocked! We all got things we don't talk about! LMAO. Don't worry. I never took money for it. If I ever did that agin, you'd have to trick me into takin' money fer doin' that. But I digress...
Anyway. It kinda hit home fer me. So without prayin' or takin an offerin' I'll just start with it. Somethin' like that was on my mind anyway today.
There are times when we become so caught up in work that we often neglect the more important aspects of our lives. We've lost perspective. We have trouble resting. Truly resting. Oh, we sit and watch the tube. Get on the net and chat. But we're always either doin' somethin', thinkin' about doin' somethin' or gettin' ready to do somethin'. Eventually, we reach the point where we're so stressed that we start makin' little mistakes. Becoming angry too soon, and too heatedly angry over things that shouldn't really bother us so much. Indeed rest becomes a bondage and a torment for us. We know that there is so much to do and so much that needs to be done. It's not that we mustn't work, just that we need to take a rest from it. All that we do has become some sort of competition to us. We must do something. Our work has entered into our rest. We have lost the abilty to stop and consider. We've forgotten how to relax and just enjoy.
That's one of the reason's fer morning coffee. To just stop for a minute or three and visit for a bit over little things...or nothin' much at all. Just to relax for a minute. To be reminded that other things are important in life as well. To seek a place of balance. A place of relative peace. A place to think of nothing or of everything as needs be. There's no pressure here. It is a special place. One of companionship and understanding. A place of balance. Perspective.
A place to warm up yer coffee and get yer day sorted out before ya hit the road! ;)
It's a new day! We got another chance to get it right. Hell, who knows! We might even do it better this time!
Sorry, but copies are not available in the lobby for any price!

Bones very sound advise....there....and I hope all think on it....
Yes I can loose my temper:D , but I can say Ellie has helped me to control it as much as possible.....If not, she will sit on me and make me count to ten......LOL....After I can think in all views and then come up with a conculusion......
Well back to work again......
All have a good day......

..at least not here in this neck of the woods. I wanted some coffee but the all I saw was what looked like pavement attached to glass.
Anyhow, I had a thought (uh-oh, another cartoon) and thought that I would share it with you all. Who knows ..this may have happened...at any time of the day!
Additionally:
Thank you all for the wonderful welcome you gave to my son Sean. It was a blast seeing his posts.

'Mornin' folks! How the hell are ya! coffee's on! Ya better find a cup and grab some! Paper'll be here directly! I got the front page and the comics! LOL.
Osotogary, yer not tryin' to tell me anything are ya! LOL. I love those cartoons! That one with the 'puters struck home! Well done! LMAO. You think I'm puttin' a caption on that one yer nuts! I get enough trouble around here! LOL.
I was busy today. Fer awhile there this morning I had two IM’s going, one chat, trying to do my job around here and waitin fer the phone to ring., cat hollerin’, news on TV. It was startin’ to get distractin’! LOL. I didn’t have anything in mind about what to visit over. Wonder what we’re talking’ about today? Let’s see….
…Well…I suppose….I hate to think about it but here we go…
Ya ever get to doin’ something’ and ya know ya done thought of everything and ya got all the bases covered! Yer just damn sure yer on top of things! Not a doubt in yer mind or a cloud in yer sky! THEN!!! Something pops up and ya say to yerself. What the hell? Where did that come from? I never thought of that happening? LOL.
Arrogance. Kind of a strong word, but that’s what it boils down to. We all suffer from it at times. We all figure we’re pretty independent! We can get anything taken care of! Just give us the resources and off we’ll go! Actually that’s one of things that’s made this nation as big and good and great as it is. On the other hand, it leaves us with a blind spot. We don’t see our weaknesses as well as perhaps we ought. Oh, we’ll get back on top of things as individuals and as a nation, but….we think we’ve got everything covered. We don’t plan for the worst case. Even when we do, it’s from a position wherein we think we can handle whatever comes up!
That kinda thinking’ is where all of our laws come into play. The man who thinks he can build a house, although he hasn’t done it before, builds a house. Good for him! But then it burns to the ground with him and his family in it. Next thing ya know: building codes! Now ya can’t build a hen coop without a permit! Ya gotta appreciate a can-do attitude…but, (there’s always a ‘but’ ain’t there! LOL.) ya gotta know yer limits and know the extent of yer knowledge and abilities. We must acknowledge the fact that whatever our plans are, our plan will have some holes in it. Now, sometimes that can be overcome with experience and training, but there will always be something, maybe even just one thing, that we will not be able to predict or to allow for. We never thought of it.
It’s good to go it alone, but it’s better to have asked fer help when ya need it, or to get another opinion. Another point of view. And that’s what I try to provide while yer drinkin’ yer coffee in the morning….
Warm up yer coffee, folks! It’s a good day! Hell, it’s Friday! If nothin’ else, you can get rested up this weekend and try it all again on Monday! New opportunities folks! New chances to get it right! One of these days…..we’ll do it all better! ;)

Its not fun to go it alone when 'it' hits the fan. 2 years ago on a picture perfect New Orleans afternoon 'it' happened.
A local was man-handling his old lady right in front of everybody. The tourists were frozen stiff. I began trying to tell the dude to calm down, and I was thinking "Why am I doing this? Somebody else do this please!"
This went on for an eternity with the dang tourists clumping up and just staring! I kept trying to keep between him and his wife. Still no sign of help anywhere! Finally the guy got an angle on his old lady and clocked her on the jaw.
Click- went the battle instincts. I really can't tell you what happened. I remember leaping through the air and knocking the idiot halfway into the avenue. The first thing I thought was, "Crap, he is going to be hit by a car, manslaughter for me!" But the tourists in their cars had stopped to watched the surreal spectacle.
Out from the crowd my 'buddy' (gee thanks) yells out, "Get out of there before the cops get you too!" I made my exit while the wife-beater just lay there. The dang tourist finally wake up and hold the guy until he is arrested. At least my 'buddy' bought me a drink to take the edge off the adrenalin.
Happy Friday! It's payday too!

Mornin' folks! How ya doin'! Coffee's on! Grab a cup and find a squat somewhere! It's Saturday! Ya got a chance to kick back, go skiin', shovel yer sidewalks, or some of even got lawns to start worryin' about! It's the weekend! Relax and enjoy it while ya can!
I got to thinkin' a few minutes ago about something we all appreciate.! Beauty. Yep, beauty. Sometimes the simple kind. Watchin' a kid play with a toy. Watchin' yer better half sleepin'. That's the good kind there! When they're sleepin' ya don't have to think about what they're gonna be up to when they wake up and get to motivatin'! LOL. Watchin' snow fallin' in the night. Watchin' pups playin' around in the yard. Watchin' family and friends havin' a good time. That sort of thing. There is the kind of beauty where, fer me, when I see a good lookin' woman, I see beauty and nothing else enters my mind. When ya see a job that is so well done, there aren't words enough to describe it. A sunset over the ocean. Sunrises over the Superstition Mountains. The smell of the pines in the spring and the wind in those same pines in the Black Hills. The wind in yer face and the feel of a Harley under ya as ya hit the road for whereever it's gonna take ya. Pullin' a move on yer sensei that he didn't see comin'. Knowin' ya got the move absolutely perfectly executed. Teamwork. When it's done right, that one word says all that can be said about workin' together. Fer me, there's some kinds of beauty that just leave me breathless. The kind where ya ferget to breath fer a minute or two. I've listed some of them that do that to me at times.
Other things that I see that amaze me are words, perfectly executed and tellin' a story wherein I experience the words and know the layers of meanings behind them. Excellence in any endeavor is beauty to me. Someone attempting something daring. Pushing their limits and exceeding their abilities heretofore. Someone who so enjoys what they are doing, that you cannot but enjoy seeing them doing it. I've seen furniture that was so well made, that I didn't know I wasn't breathing until I had to! Craftsmanship. Professionalism, when it's done right. Pride in who they are and what they've done, those who enjoy seeing you enjoy the fruits of their labor.
A smile on an old woman's face can get me that way, too. When real and certain beauty takes yer breath away, ya know yer payin' attention! It means yer alive! Just open yer eyes and look for it. It's there, damn near all around ya!
There's beauty out there folks. It surrounds us every day. We need to stop and look at it now and then, and acknowledge it, and acknowledge to ourselves that we appreciate it.
Wow. I got to talkin' and fergot to tell ya to warm up yer cups, folks! It's a new day! we got another chance to get it right! We got a new opportunity! Take advantage of it, why don't ya!

Mornin' all... True words of inspiration, Bones. Dang if ya don't get it right (at least damn near close to it) most every day. Beauty... Ya hit it on the button. Never knew what it was till I saw the wonder and amazement in my baby girl's eyes as she takes in every new thing, new event and new experience. For her to find enjoyment in slamming a little empty box on the floor for 10 minutes or to try and grab my nose and do the same with it as she did with the box.. LOL How, at such a tender age, she knows how to call mama - cry some and look around, cry some more, look around. Don't matter that daddy is there to comfort her.. she knows who she wants and she's damn stubborn to get it. I've seen the sunsets and sunrises... I've seen a grouping of a few well placed rounds that would give any Marine wood... I've been out in the woods and let nature overtake my senses... Seen a majestic deer, the bold badger the regal elk, even a stalking cougar... None of these things compare with what I get to witness each and every day with my child. Not to take anything away from my oldest... she is a pain like no other and, at the same time, a great addition to the family. She shows athetic ability that he father only wished he had posessed in his younger days. Her eagerness to please.. her willingness to be helpful... and, let's not forget, her lack of hearing when her favorite cartoons are on! LOL
Y'all have a great and wonderful day...

Yep.... like mine says the other nite.... 'Dad, can I stay home this weekend (with Mom) so I can go out with my friends?" Sure, you don't have to ask me, but I'm glad you did. Hey, shes 16 going on 17 now, and has to make her own decisions. I told her 'ya went to the UP with us a couple weekends back, were sick all weekend , so yes - go hang out with yer pals'. "Thanks Dad" - 'No problem Kiddo - just be careful okay' Remember the Jarhead rule.
(In case yer wondering what the Jarhead Rule is:)
Between her and I: If she gets into a situation she can't get out of, all she has to do is call me - no matter the time, I or my wife will go get her no questions asked. End of story.
Hey I think it's a damm fine rule. Especially for a 16 year old who has been to all 5 Great Lakes. I've known people who have lived in Michigan all their lives and haven't even seen more than 1 of the Great Lakes. She does alot with us..... cause shes a damm good kid. Funny, her Mom always promises to do stuff with her, only it never happens. I've heard for 5-6 years now about a trip to Florida, and she still hasn't gone. Maybe I'll take her. I'd take her to DC with us in May but she has school, and that's more important.
Priorities.

True enough there, Barndog. My dad had about the same rule with me when I was that age... He never called it the Jarhead rule, maybe it is and some of us just didn't know it! LOL He told me that if I was stuck (or drunk) and if I was unable to get/afford a cab, to call him - any time. He may be mad but I would not be punished. Took a lot of pressure off. With rules like that, I think, a kid tends not to try and break 'em. I never did get drunk - I just brought my drunk friends over (who's parents were not as understanding) and my mom and dad would feed 'em and we'd get 'em home.
I got some of the same problems with my kid in school. Though, for a few "family" days - since my weekends at the time were while she was in school, I'd get her out for a day and we'd go do stuff. She's got a good teacher who understood our situation and what I was wanting to do as well, and that helps.
From what ya said, Barndog, ya got a good kid there - a reflection on the parents, for sure! Good for you and yours.

'Mornin' folks! How ya doin' this mornin'! Coffee's on! Grab a cup and get comfortable! It's Sunday! You can kick back and not feel guilty about it! LOL. Paper'll be here directly! I get the funny pages first!
Well, you know I been thinkin' again, don't ya? Well, it happens time to time that with all the thinkin' I do, I actually come up with somethin' almost worth sharin'! What! Well, you oughta consider some of the stuff I don't share with ya! LOL. Scares even me sometimes, and I ain't scared of nuthin'... 'cept a woman with a butcher knife, but that's another story and happened years ago. I'm pretty glad she missed that second time, though. Well, I took it away from her the first time and was fool enough to think she'd calmed down some, so I put the knife down and then...well, it aint' my fault she didn't have a sense of humor! They oughta make bedroom doors a little thicker anyway...she almost got me that second time!
Anyway, I was thinkin' about pride today. Mostly it's a good thing if it don't get in yer way. When yer wrong ya take the hit and move on best ya can. Here's one place where pride can get in yer way. When ya been proved wrong and ya keep blabbin' about how right ya are and why yer right. Them peace activists come to mind right now, fer example, but that's a whole crowd of people and I was considerin' one people at a time so to speak. Like you or me fer example. Pride can get ya places ya wanna go, too. It helps in yer career. In yer relationships, in yer day to day livin'. Ya don't go around with yer head hung low over nothin'. Ya know what ya can do and ya do it well and ya take some pride in that. Ya stand up fer friends and family and help folks out the best ya know how. Pride can be a good thing. Some other way of lookin' at it might be to say that ya don't have false humility, but that's a topic fer another time maybe. It means ya readily acknowledge what ya done that was good and ya don't denigrate yer own abilities or accomplishments unjustly or falsely. False humility is just another form of lyin', really.
Now the bad thing about pride is that you begin to start thinkin' you can do anything without the facts or ability to back it up. Ya start justifyin' and rationalizin' everything ya do 'cause ya don't want to be wrong, and ya don't want to change or grow up one way or another. Ya start gettin' into false pride as well somewhere in about that point, too. Ya braggin' and ya ain't got no way of backin' it up. Ya start thinkin' yer better than everyone else, even yer peers, and ya got no reason fer bein' that way about things. Ya start treatin folks different who aren't as well off as you are. Ya start holdin' back on folks, maybe thinkin' they're not as good as you are, yer too good to be associatin' with such as they. Things like that.
The bad part about pride is ya can start underestimatin' yer opponents and overestimatin' yer own abilities...it's a type of blindness, both the good kinda pride and especially the false kinda pride.
We're back to seein' things as they really are, instead of how we would like for them to be. We've visited on that before, I think, haven't we?
Kinda like me thinkin' that woman wouldn't take that knife to me again and if she did, I'd just damn well take it away from her agian. Because of pride, things didn't go quite the way I'd figured! LOL. Because of pride in my own abilities, I didn't see things as they really were.
That ain't said right at all, but it might give ya something to think about and discuss fer a bit, maybe.
Warm up yer coffee, folks. It's a good day. We'll get it right one of these days. Spend some time with the family today. Relax fer a bit. We got Monday to get started on that other ****, don't we.

And you accuse me of havin' too much time on MY hands, Bones? I sure am not blind, but I do need some new glasses - LOL. Oh, hell. Hey, I even got things around the house done - thats why I haven't been around much. Shop is all cleaned out, tools organized (I think this medication is working finally) I feel pretty damm good - so fer the couple weeks worth of BS I went through in the beginning, I guess it paid off (even tho I'm off it currently - because of a sinus condition)
I've decided to turn the shop into the full-time dedicated office for the business - complete with DSL. I sat and figured out what it would generate to do this cost-tax wise....... I figured, better get motivated. I'm wasting money here. For the amount I have to put into it, for what I can get back.... sheeeeesh.

'Mornin' folks! How the hell are ya! Coffee's on! Ya better get yer head sorted out before ya start yer day! Paper'll be here in a bit!
I guess I gotta say it again. I just start spoutin' stuff inna mornin'. I don't really spend to much time gettin' things organized, really. I don't really spend a lot of time gettin' my thoughts organized on this stuff. I figure it's a bit more honest this way and I say what I'm thinkin' at the time. Some call it stream of consciousness. It's just an interestin' experiment on my part and maybe, hopefully, it's a bit different than anything else on the net by bein' that way. If we all stop and think about things along the way...well, that works fer me, too. It's a palliative fer me as well. Makes me think I'm doin' some little bit of good inna world, maybe. Gettin' folks to think fer a minute and maybe to remember a few things they mighta fergot along the way. If I'm lucky, it's all worth readin' and visitin' over, but bein' an experiment in progress, there's bound to be times when I don't get things said as clearly as we'd all like. I will, however take the hit fer typos and mis-spellin'! Life is. ;) LOL. As far as my grammar is concerned, don't even go there! LOL.
I was thinkin' about love today. Specifically, love songs and how much they can get to ya. I posted a couple of those on the site earlier, Meatloaf's "I will do anything for love" and Aero smith’s "Don't wanta miss a thing". Another I haven't posted is KISS's "Beth." The one song they did that's worth listenin' too. I like Shania Twain's "Breathe" as well. To me, they're some songs and a very few poems that take yer breath away fer a minute. Yep. Beauty again.
If ya been havin' coffee with us in the morning for awhile, you'll see that we almost always come back again and again to similiar themes. The topics we visit about overlap one another in their impact upon us and in the areas that they cover. Inter-related, as all things in life are inter-related. One thing leads to another. A circular regularity is eventually exposed in our interactions with one another and with the world at large around us. A simple example of this is to spend some time listening when yer in a group of people and paying attention to the topic that they begin to speak of. I will guarantee that sooner or later they will get around to that same topic again before they are through and that everything they speak of along the way will be related and/or inter-related to the original topic and the ending topic of that conversation. Stability. Balance. Maybe even habit. Not all habits are bad for you.
We need stability in our lives, and fer a few minutes in the mornin', I try to help to create that sense of stability here, for you, and most especially for me.
Warm up yer coffee, folks. It's a good day! We're on track! We'll get it all sorted out sooner or later! It's a new day! A new opportunity! Now go out and take advantage of it!

Morning all... Guess I'm up too late again.. Oh well, the way it goes when it's all nag nag nag 'round here... 'course, I ain't done nothing wrong! LOL least, she ain't told me what it was - yet! I'm sure I'll hear it before too long. Always do...
Tomorrow I've got to get with the secretary at my daughter's school so I can make sure all the right paperwork is filled out so she can go skiing. Last two events got cancelled due to lack of participation. This time, they say it's happening no matter what. Well, I worked all them hours the last couple weeks so I could get this time off and so that I'd be able to afford taking her up in the mountains. Friday, I may have mentioned this before, I'm looking to take her up to a buddy's place so she can see how the circle of life starts... will be helpin him with his cows that are calving right now. Then Saturday, I'm lookin to see about going to the other end on that circle of life. I hear them whistle pigs are out and about - should get the .22 sighted in and, if they ain't out, blow some dust out of the sks and 12 guage.
Y'all have a great day. Monday will be spent getting ready for the rest of the week. Not a busy day, just one with some things to do.

Yes, the songs of love move us to the very soul of our heart.
They seem to complement the essence of life.
Each day should begin with a love song. At least adding it to the other morning starters will set my mind in a mood that makes me feel that I can again succeed in all that I do. The songs somehow conjure up memories that bring a smile into my heart.
I feel so full of love!
JChristin come over here, I want to give you a hug! LOL
You do motivate Bones! LOL

'Mornin' folks! How the hell ya doin' this mornin'! Coffee's on! Grab a cup and find a place to squat fer a bit. Git yer eyes open before ya start yer day! Paper'll be along directly! I git the funny pages!
I remember one day I let the ol' lady push me to get goin' before I had my eyes open. We was livin' in an apartment buildin' in Mesa, Arizona at the time. Had a carport out back. Well, the old caddy I had barely fit in our spot. I pulled out and didn't have my eyes open and scraped the whole right side of the car on the post fer the carport. I was too tired to be ****ed. That's just so ya know, I been there and learned the hard way! ;) LOL. Didn't get no damn t-shirt either. Make sure yer awakle before ya hit the road, folks! LOL.
Make sure yer awake....we seem to miss a lot in life, at times. We get busy bein' who we are or tryin' to be who we'd like to be one day. Sometimes we ferget to slow down and open our eyes to what's around us. We get self-involved. Tied up in our own little world of make believe or just simple survival at times. Worryin' about this or that when we really have it pretty good overall. That worryin' stuff will close yer eyes to other things. Ya ferget to pay attention to family and friends. Ya spend more time worryin' about career and houses and cars and ferget to spend enough time with yer family to keep things workin'. Ya ferget to keep up on current events. Ya get so tied up in yer own little world that you gerget that there's more out there than what you want to think about or to believe in. Then when ya get yer metaphysical car all scraped up in the carport, ya wonder how it happened and why. Have a cup of coffee, folks and get yer eyes open before ya head out....might be worth the time ya don't think ya have to do that.
Warm up yer coffee, folks. It's a good day! It's a new opportunity! We got another chance to get it right! Hell, we might even get our eyes opened up a bit and get it right this time! LOL

'Mornin' folks! How the hell are ya! Coffee's on! Get a cup before it's gone and we gotta make some more!
I'm thinkin' about ramblin' a bit this mornin'. No. I mean more than usual! LOL. I haven't got much on the back burner right now to visit over, so I figured we'd just ramble on a bit. No pressure, no lesson, maybe. Well, there's always a lesson in things if yer lookin' close, but I don't mean to 'put it to ya' today at any rate! LOL.
I was goin' thru the Gallery on the site earlier. Some pretty good picks in there. Brought back a lot of memories, seein' some of them. Made me feel good to see them. Folks from different eras, and you see the same indefinable something in nearly all those pics that says, "Marine!" It's worth the effort to go take a gander at them. Might even be an education for the kids. There's some pics of POOL-ee functions that might give some of us old farts something to think about as well!
What else was there....Let's see, my notes....nope, did that. Posted somethin' about that already. Got the pop-up killer yesterday. Damn pop-ups got so bad, I spent half a day tryin' to use my computer and get it all cleaned up. What a pain. If I ever find out who invented those things, I might end up in prison.....
We've got some ladies runnin' around the site who're Marine wives and such. That MarineMom is somethin' else. I admire that lady. She's got bottom. She'll be there when ya need her. Well, Mom, we're here here for you, too. Just holler. We'll do what we can if ya ever need us.
I've been gettin', to some maybe, kinda maudlin in a few of my posts lately. Well, maybe. I've been wantin' to remind a few folks of what we do and why we do it. A few of the Marine wives been kinda down with their ol man over playin' in the sandbox, so I thought they could use a little encouragement, too.
'Cept fer a couple kids, there's been some good things happenin' on the site the last few days. I'm proud of ya. Proud to be one of ya. A United States Marine.
Warm up yer coffee, folks! It's a good day! a new opportunity to get it right! We'll be ok. Don't worry about the small ****.

Morning all....
Bones, seems like the heart attack is FREE... however, there ain't no snow here lessin' ya want it - 'bout a 1/2 or so drive up into the hills. Bright and clear days out here, friend. So, if ya need see what the sun looks like, just come out this way!
Well, short work week - yesterday was Monday (for me) and today is Friday. Hard to beat that! Gotta get up too early tomorrow - takin the kid on her first ski trip. She's excited. Then Friday we are going up into podunk nowhere to help out a buddy of mine - the cows be calving. Saturday, gonna get with some other friends and see about blowin' the dust out of the long guns, maybe a few of the short ones too and see if some of them fuzzy critters are popping their heads up yet.
Next week I have inservice. I hear they are stressing cognitive skills and work style on us this year. So, I intend to become a Cog. ;) ... as well as a thorn on my way there. Best part of the yearly inservice is the last day. Pistol, shotgun, mobil (that's where ya drive, jump out of the truck and shoot the shotgun and pistol) and the rifle qualifications. Nothing like getting paid to shoot things. So, if'n ya don't see me for a while, don't be worryin none, just got a glitch in the routine.
Have a great day and Semper Fi!

'Morning folks! How the hell are ya this mornin'! Coffee's on! Grab a cup and get comfortable for a bit! Get yer day sorted out before ya get rollin'! Paper'll be here directly!
I been thinkin' a bit about somethin' Was wonderin' how some of you folks might feel about it! We've all heard about rose colored glasses before. One time or another anyway. I was thinkin' about takin that thought and goin' a little further with it. Well, we've covered some of it before, but this is takin' a look at it from a different direction.
With rose colored glasses you see everything in a 'rosey' light. You see nuthin' but the good in things. Which kinda leaves reality outta yer worldview. Reality is sometimes harsh and ya gotta be prepared for that in yer day to day livin'. Things ain't always rosey, so to speak. Would that they were, but they ain't and that's what we gotta live with.
Now, what I was thinkin' about is that we all see the world through different colored glasses. We experience things through our own lives. What we've lived through and what we've done and seen goin' on around us. Environment, if you will let me get away with that loaded word for this visit over the topic at hand.
Which is: how we all see things from a slightly different perspective.
One sees more good in those around him, another sees more evil. One sees opportunity, another sees only despair. One cannot fathom the true evil in the world, while another sees the threat for what it is. One sees only the color of yer skin, while another sees only the person who happens to wear that skin, whatever color it is. One cannot fathom hunger or want or need. Someone else lives with it every day. One lives, surrounded by love, another really doesn't know what it is or what it means.
These are just a few examples and extreme examples at that. In any case, these experiences and others like them form who we are, how we make decisions, what we do or become, and how other percieve us through our actions and words and deeds.
The Book says to examine yerself. Truth. Honesty. Love. These are the things that matter and they will overcome all manner of other ways of seeing things. Another way of saying the same thing is; Honor, Courage, Committment.
Just something to think about while you warm up yer coffee this morning.
We got a new opportunity folks! Don't screw it up on me! ;) LOL.
Go take advantage of it today. We can get it right.

I just came here from posting something along these same lines. So this one caught my attention. Bones put it much simpler and more effective than I could/did.
I don't think anyone could argue with Bones on this quote. I will add one thought to it. Have you ever picked up someone else's perscription glasses and tried to look through them? Squint too long, and you'll have a headache.

Starbucks anyone?
CAS is buying!
And I hear she's going commando style today...LMAO
Bones, you always hit the nail right on the head.
The glasses I have chosen for the past few months were more or less sh!t colored. Everything I touched turned to crap and yesterday was the icing on the cake... I had a little accident because of this freakin snow. I was on my way to work, hit a tree and turned around and came home. I have not left since!
Today, a new day, I am home and having my coffee. Reading your post and realizing...could it be worse? Maybe but I am at an all time low. Not really sure how to get out of it. I miss my husband and my kids! I am buried at work and still training someone.
Think I will have some more coffee and just relax for a while!
