Welcome to the club, I've have had my hands slapped a few times, as well...LOl
Most of the time if I post something that I think is gona cause a concern, I delete <strike>CENSORED</Strike> myself, LOL.
I do like to push the button every once in awhile. Had one post I put up, stayed up all the time and nobody censored it, heck I would have CENSORED it in a minute...LOL
Its going to be a good day, its Friday, glad you had a some what good day, when you consider the alternative, I guess its better getting older, meaner, uglyier, and an old fart. Need to fnd out when one becomes an old fart. All I want to become is a dirty old man, but don't know what age I have to be, before I qualify and then it'll be okay to say and do things like that.. LOL
Well looks like you been busy all night. Coffee smells good, I'll pour me a cup.
Well, today is a good day, to stay out of trouble...LOL

Goodmorning
I'm glad we made your birthday a little more enjoyable.
Well we didn't get all the rain that they told us...seems it slipped out toward the ocean...Well a least we had a little...
Well it is the final swing of the summer season...Everyone will be enjoying their family picnics, going to the beach, going to the mountains, camping, whatever you enjoy...We all get an extra day off, this Labor Day Weekend....Well now come the real shock, no more Holidays for awhile, kids are back in school...cool weather will be around the corner....and no more fun and games that you really enjoy during the summer...
Well at least I can say football and hockey season is arriving...LOL
So to all, Have a Happy and Safe Holiday.....

LOL.. My wife's been calling me an Old Fart and a Dirty Old Man for quite some time now. I'm only 36 but I have had instruction from the best. My dad (a very proud Former Marine and Dirty Old Man) told my mom, "... when I stop lookin', that's when you should start worryin'..."

Good mornin' folks! How are ya! It's good to see ya this morning! Coffee's on! Come on in and get a cup! Paper ain't here yet. Figure that paper boy's been sleepin' in lately!
What's on my mind today? Danged if I know! I ain't looked! LOL.
It's been pretty nice lately. 80's and 90's during the day and 60's and 70's at night. A little warm fer around here this time of year, but still nice!
I've been busy lately. Pretty weird fer a feller with no job and no kids at home! LOL. Haven't even been working on the yard or garden much. One thing I'm gettin to like about flower bulbs! LOL. Not much work involved to get good results! All I have now are green stalks and leaves! Gotta get the dead stuff trimmed off them, though. Yards still green. Haven't even fertilized it for over a month!
I figure some of you folks are doing the end of the summer stuff. Family reunions, "Last minute" vacations. Getting a few things ready for winter. Maybe gettin that last couple a barbeques in before it starts coolin' off a lot.Watching the kids and grandkids play little league or tennis or some such. That's a good thing!
We got a couple folks in the middle of some changes, too! New kids inna family! One gettin married! One or two with new grandkids! One Marine's going to DI school, another gettin' transferred, and yet another gettin' out! Transitions! Change. New things to see and do, always something different. As much as we want things to be different, we're always a bit put off when they do get different! LOL We be a perverse lot sometimes! LOL.I always found myself from time to time being bored to tears and wantin' some action, then when life gets too busy to take a deep breath, I want things to be nice and quiet again! LOL.
Change is always a good thing, though, we may not like it, but it is good for us. Gets us outta our rut if nothin' else! LMAO! It gives us a chance to learn and experience something a bit different than what we're used to. It gives us a chance to grow a bit. To reach for that ever elusive level of maturity wherein we are comfortable at last in our own skin, and able to finally get along with the voices in our heads that tell us all that we aren't good enough. LOL. We all deal with the insecurities. No use denyin' it! LOL. After you've survived a bit of this and a bit of that and lived through enough change and grown thereby, you finally realize that maybe , just maybe, you're alright. You learn, too, that sometimes ya gotta cut the other guy a bit of slack until he's been through a few changes his ownself! After ya live long enough, you've maybe learned enough that someone else might finally be interested in what ya have to say....maybe! If they've lived long enough to learn that listenin can be a good thing! LOL.
Change brings us opportunity, also. Opportunity that we might not otherwise have had. Opportunity to live at peace with yerself and others, perhaps. Opportunity to learn from others, so that you don't have to learn the hard way. Opportunity to gro in every way you can think of, even financially! Opportunity to learn that makin' a business deal doesn't always mean that the two parties are out to screw each other. Fair trade for services rendered is an adage as old as mankind. Ya learn that honesty is a good thing. Like one or two around here say, when ya honest, ya don't have to remember so much! LOL. For you lazy folks, like me, that means honesty is the easy way, and therefore not as much work! LMAO!
Well, that's not all I have to say about that, but it is enough to get ya thinkin'! LOL. Not that any of us necessarily like thinkin' any more than we have too! LOL.;) It's gonna be a good day, folks! Look forward to it! Anticipate change and opportunity! And maybe...just maybe, you'll have another chance to do it right this time! Hell, if nothin' else, you'll have a chance to do it better this time if yer lucky! Change is good for ya! It's a part of life and livin'. Ya ain't gettin outta it either! Life Is, boys and girls! Learn to get along with it and things'll probably be a lot easier for ya! ;)
Coffee's in there if ya need a warm up! Don't wait on me to get it for ya! That's one thing that won't change very damn soon, I'll guarantee ya! :D In my house yer home! Get it yerself! I'm goin' out on the deck fer a bit! Join me when ya get yer cup warmed up, why don't ya! It's nice out there!

Goodmorning
Well I see the sun for the first time in 5 days...We did have a little rain, mostly cloudy and cool weather this week....Makes it good for the folks doing their thing this weekend....I don't do too much this weekend, I save my energy for the weekend of Sept 19-22. It's Wildwood, NJ 's 9th Annual Boardwalk Classic Car Show - Irish Festival Seafarers Celebration - Model Aircraft Beach Fly-In and Fireman's and Policeman Festival, mixed in with a lot of Vietnam Vets Weekend. Just think a bunch of drunks watching and drag racing classic cars you Cruise, muffler rappin', flame throwin', burn-out competitions....can't ask for anything better....My son is working on his car now purple motor, neon blue lights and all....He wants to put it in the show...These cars over 3000 come from all over the US just for this event..We enjoy this event every year and it seems to be getting bigger and better..
Well I need more coffee, and I didn't take your paper either Bones...
All have a good day.........

'Mornin' folks! How the hell are ya! Come on in! Coffee's on! It's workin' good this mornin' too! Well, you know where the cups are at! Go get yerself some!
Got to thinkin' again! I know, I know! Well, get some coffee in ya then! Wake up! LOL. Got to thinkin' about makin' mistakes! I know you fellers never made any, but here and there ober the years I have. When I pay attention, I always learn somethin', too. If nothin' else, I learn not to do it quite that way again! LMAO! I usually learn a bit more about myself, seems like. Learn to take a longer look at the situation before I jump in and do. Sometimes ya just gotta do and go with yer first thought on the situation, but most generally, there's time to look things over.
Some of the things I've learned the hard way! Well, electricity is inherently dangerous.....only took one time with an outlet to learn that one. Some things I gotta do the wrong wat two or three times or so before I get a handle on it! LOL. Now one thing I have done outta that is to figure that maybe a few other things in this life are as dangerous as electricity! Like scared folks with weapons! LOL. Or just plain scared folks! Don't be scarin' folks without due cause! They get real unpredictable real fast it seems like!
What else just off the top of my head.....Don't **** off the guy who fills out yer fitness reports... or yer job evaluations if ya ain't active duty anymore. It's counter productive! LMAO! I never did learn that one right! LOL.
Another one....think about what yer saying to folks if yer trying to get them straightened out. What's the best way to say it, and how would you be if someone was saying the same thing to you the same way! I still end up eatin my words now and then, but it sure don't happen as much as it used to! LOL. Eatin' crow sucks!
Women are different! They're built different. Period! When a man and the woman he's involved with fully recognise this for what it is- a good thing- then they might be on to something. Men should never act like women are worse ...or vice versa. We're just different from each other, and that, my friends, is a very good thing. Strengths and weaknesses on both sides of that ledger. When they workin together, and acknowledge this fully, it is a wonderful thing to see in a relationship. I've seen it. Me and my Ol Lady are still workin' on it! Me and my first wife didn't. We kept tryin to force each other into molds we weren't designed for!
Remember, all the bumps on the two sexes are different for a reason, and it ain't just sex, as much fun as that is!
Always, always keep a few tools in yer vehicle. Including some jumper cables! If you never need them, someone else will!
Never put a wet cat and a wet dog in the same room. It's really gonna be a mess then! Get 'em dried off and calmed down a bit first.....
The sun comes up every day, whether I like it or not! Took me awhile to get used to that....Some things ya can't change, no matter what you do. Figure out what they are and do yer best to work around them...or with them.
Well, enough of that stuff fer one day. Warm up yer coffee! Paper'll be here shortly! Hell, if I ain't careful, I just might get it right today. At least I'll try to do it better! LOL. If nothin' else, I'll do it different this time! ;) It's gonna be a good day folks. Spend some time with the family...and if that don't work, find a few Marines somewhere and buy 'em a drink....if yer in a dry county, ya might just have to settle for coffee! Do somethin' good fer yerself today! Relax! It's Sunday! Monday'll be here soon enough.

Goodmorning
Well we had a great day yesterday, sun shinning, not real hot, that we can do things outside without falling over from the heat....LOL...
Bones, you do have to know a little about electricity....or you could another type of juice going through your body which you didn't plan on....LOL...
I work with electricity and electronics.....and it's not fun getting that extra jolt of juice, which we were not planning on having....LOL....Even though I know about electricity I learned to respect what it can do....I have had some good adventures with them, which you can say would scare the sh!t out of some folks, but that is my job....Hell Ellie has very good insurance on me, just for that reason....LOL....
Well need to get some more coffee, and start reading the paper....
All have a good day.....

"Mornin' folks! How ya been! It's good to see ya! Coffee's on, come on in and get some! Make yerself to home!
I was gonna come off with some Ooo-Rah Motivational stuff this morning, but I got to thinkin'. Ya want the motivational stuff, go read that thread on my low self esteem! It's all me folks! Just being me! I get to thinkin', or doin', or just a state of being. It's all me. Good, bad and indifferent! Now and again, ya need to take a good long look at yerself, and even knowing that other folks see ya a bit different than ya see yerself, ya got to know yerself, too. You're the only one livin in yer skin, and for the most part, yer the only one can look around in there and see what's what. Takes honesty to do. Brutal honesty. No excuses, no rationalizations. Just look and see. Some things ya see, ya might haveta get help with. Just like around the house. Some things ya just don't dare do if ya ain't got the tools or knowledge to get it right.
That's yer Semper Fi Motivation this morning, Marines! Honesty. Self assessment. Strengths and weaknesses. We all have them. Find yours, make them better. Adapt, Adjust, OVERCOME! It'll be more of a challenge than you think. Much more. 'Cause while yer doing that, ya gotta take care of yer mission, whatever it might be for the day. Don't dwell on the weaknesses, acknowledge them and work on gettin' things sorted out and made right. Work around them. Seek peace in yerself, then you will be strong. Only by knowing yourself fully can you do this. Many of us learned this in the Marine Corps. Some never learned it at all. Most, like myself are still working on it. Who you are isn't who you can be or will be. Only by knowing yourself can you begin to know others. It can be painful to do this. This is where the saying comes in, "Pain is weakness leaving the body!"
Whatever your weakness is, face it every day. Work to make it better, work to make it work for you. In doing so, you will find strength. By facing it every day. Not dwelling on it, but acknowledging it, and working it so that it is not a point source of failure for you. This is how there is strength in weakness. When you know yourself, no one can use your weakness against you! You will be ready for them !
Somebody keeps movin my soap box on me! I get going like this and look around, and all of sudden I'm on it again! LOL. Once friggin' more, I didn't get it said the way I wanted, but I think you get the idea.
Warm up yer coffee while I sit a spell. I'm talked out fer a bit. Paper'll be here shortly. Looks like a good day today. Maybe we can get it right today! Hell, we might even get a chance to do it better! Ya never know! It's a new day after all! New possibilities!

* pours a cup* Then, nails the soap box down to the floor for Bones, so it stays f*#@$%g put. If I'm yer captive audience of 1, keep goin, brother. I'm still learning to find the peace within. Then, I also can honestly say, Wheatland this week - is a large portion of that peace in my soul. All those people. All that music. I can't wait for my fingers to hurt from playing music so much. That unconditional love and sharing we throw around each other. The hugs. The friendships that we only get to work on 4 days a year. Truely an amazing thing to put 15,000+ people of different backgrounds on a 160 acre farm for 3 days, add booze (and all the rest) music and food. No fights. Dancing, singing, playin, laughin, eatin, drinkin.......(other stuff too LOL) In this my 14th Wheatland Festival, I have seen 1 fight. Pretty amazing accomplishment considering. Now, stop and think about that for a minute. 15-20,000 people on a 160 acre farm for 3 days. Upwards of 65-70% drunk and/or otherwise wasted.
No fights. We're all there for the common good, the music that binds us to our roots, these 'traditions' in which our ancestors shared with each other. Don't think for a hot second there isn't politics there, because they ARE. And, this is one place I shall continue to fight the battle - I have fought and won battles there already, and in the name of all my 'Wheatland Family' - I will continue to stand Marine tall and fight for what is right and proper. I do not tolerate hypocrits real well. The people who run this beautiful place are by and large, just that One of my 'inside' spies emailed me, saying he went to 'visit' this weekend (work weekend) saw a truckload of ppl driving around drinking etc etc etc. and Board Members in the truck too. Well, WE have been told that this is not acceptable as it is a liability issue.
Apparently, if yer a board member - it doesn't apply. WRONG.
Glad he has a polaroid camera.... LMFAO
What 2 things ya do when you have a p!ssed off Marine on your arse? Pray.
Pray when you find out, and Pray he doesn't find you.

Good mornin' folks! Come on in! Glad yer here! It's always good to see ya! I always have a good time when ya come over like this! Coffee's on, come on in and get a cup or two! Paper ain't here yet, so let's visit for a bit and relax and enjoy things before the day starts on us! LOL.
I've been thinkin' again...OH shut up! LOL. Ya get to thinkin' after we have coffee it's yer own fault! LOL.
I've been noticin' a couple of the new kids runnin' around. I ain't figgered out if what I'm seein' is pure ignorance or pure innocence! LOL. One of 'ems got me pure tickled he's so enthusiastic! LOL. Kinda fun to watch 'em when they get like that! I envy them in a pretty bad way. They got a lot of experience and knowleged on the net that most of us didn't have. I'm glad to see that they do. The ones who get serious about the Marine Corps will be way ahead of the game no matter which way you look at it. That gives me a bit of hope! They can have more of it learned before boot camp than we ever knew existed when we first went in. I can go on about that, too, but I wanted to look at something else a bit more.
Well, don't wait on me, warm yer coffee up!
Those new kids got a chance to see what it's like now. They got a chance to see what it was like in every conflict and practically every MOS and how it shapes people and affects their lives afterwards. They have the opportunity to join with their eyes wide open. We all know that until ya been there, there is no real knowing of what it's like, but the basic knowledge can be theirs. That's the good thing.
Another is that they'll see what we've learned. The pain, the wisdom, the peace, the attitude, even the broken dreams and broken promises made. They might have a chance to learn the only reason to do it is to protect others, and if they can pick up a few benefits, like leadership and maybe even some time in a field that'll transfer to civilian life, then good. But they will see from Marines like you and me that things of that nature are a far second to doing what is right.
They will know that our lives are full of loss and pain and sacrifice. They'll see the pride, the joy, the grace...and the rage. They have the chance to see our poise and our loss and our inherent love for one another no matter what we put each other through.
They will see our Brotherhood and they will strive to attain to that. They see the good that is in all of us, and until they have experienced it for themselves, and all the reasons that we are who we are, they will be envious, and lacking the full knowledge of the price we have all paid for our initiation into the brotherhood that is the Marine Corps, they will still seek to be as we were and as we are.
We are Marines and we have each set the standard for them to follow.
I do envy them, but I woudn't do bootcamp again for anything in the world! LMAO!
Keep yer eyes on those kids and don't let 'em get into too much trouble! They'll be a few of them who will one day be our brothers!
If that ain't motivation enough for ya, ya need another cup of coffee! LOL. Get some more, folks. Plenty over there. Looks like it's gonna be a good day! New possibilities! Might even be a chance to get it right this time! If we ain't real careful, some of these kids just might do it better! ;) I'm gonna go sit on the deck fer a bit.

Bones, yes these kids have more knowledge of the Corps than we did...The internet is a great way to read and learn what they are expected to know about the Corps...Hell most of us went in cold, the only ones with a little knowledge is if they had someone they knew in the Corps...

coffee's good....
Yep, these new kids coming on have alot of kowledge, what they need is wisdom to go with that.
Some have their MOS already, when they go in.
Heck when I went in, I had to wait until the drill instructor, measured the length of my arms, those with the longest arms got to carry the M-60.
Those with the shortest arms, were M-79 men ...LMAO
If you had big strong arms, you got to carry the rocket. If you couldn't keep in step in formation, they made you an Air Winger... LMAO
Well, folks now that everyone's caught up with me and knows a little about what it means to have a few days off, you all get back to work...HaHahahaheheheheh
Be leaving soon to take my daughter to the train station, its gona be a warm day again.. but it'll be peaceful around here, everyone will be gone for the day..

Got a little relapse on the ribs over the weekend, pain pills can sure make ya late :)
Dogs been walked, kids are starting to stir (after a good kick), and coffee is just starting to kick in. Has anybody figured out how to MAINLINE coffee yet ???? Sign me up.
Spent the weekend traveling with the CO, she had some work to do down in Mobile. Went to the USS Alabama while down there, stopped by the 'Nam memorial at Battleship park, shared a prayer for all.
While there, they are just NOW building a Korean Memorial. Feels kinda sad, that we STILL have to refer to it as The 'Forgotten' War. Reminds me that we have to make sure our lives are kept open to whats going on around the world. If our children are in the loop, then they will ALWAYS remember. And they are the next layer of our society, the next building block, ontop of the cornerstone, that was laid over 225 years ago. They need to remember the good, as well as the bad, lest History repeat itself.
(squeezing last drop from cup) But, it's another beautiful day in AMERICA. The land of the free, and the home of the brave. I'm thankful to be able to sit on the patio without full body armor, and run out of coffee, knowing that there is more to be had.
Ya'll have a great day, week, month, and indeed, a great life. That is my prayer for each of you, and my thanks to EVERYONE who served, before, with or after me, for making every sunrise free to behold.
Gods Speed
Been reading the coffee posts for a while and enjoying them. Decided to join and throw in the two cents worth. My coffee mug is one of those with the emblem and comes with a lid. I like my coffee hot and black. I see Sparrow Hawk lives in Riverside, we lived there for ten years from 68 to 78. Lots of nice folks there. Would probably still be there if the smog weren't so bad. How is it now? Spent 4 yrs in the corps as a radio telegraph operator with the airwing and aboard ship. Proud to be a Marine.

'Mornin' folks! How the hell are ya this mornin'! It's good to see ya! Come on in and have some coffee! Of course the coffee's on! It always tastes good when I make it! LOL. Some of you folks been awful quiet all along! It's about time ya spoke up! LOL. Now, I didn't mean nothin'! I can't even stand my own company til I had a couple cups of coffee! LOL.
Talkin about some of the new kids bein so enthusiastic yesterday. Well, I hope we can get through to 'em without breakin' their spirit! They ever start listenin', that kinda motivation might stand them in good stead later on! I kinda laid it on the line yesterday, didn't I! Wasn't real mad, just trying to get through to 'em is all! LOL. "I'm gonna be a scout-recon-fighter pilot with jump wings who blah blah blah!" LMAO! If it wasn't so aggravatin', it'd be cute! LOL. More than willing to help if they'll listen though. Had one in chat fer a bit last night who seemed alright. Admitted to bein' ignorant and was askin' fer help. Everyone who wasn't busy went outta their way to offer him resources and help, hell, even a few who were busy jumped in and helped! I guess it takes all kinds!
Makes me think of a line in O Brother Where Art Thou "Take Delmar for example." " Yeah, lookit me!" LOL. I like that Delmar! Tim Blake Nelson stole every scene he was in! Takes real brains to play someone that stupid! LOL.
I haven't really got anything in particular I was thinkin' of this morning, 'ceptin' I was glad to see RadMaw speak up! Lots of folks like you got a lot to offer around here. Wish a few more'd get their coffee in 'em and speak up inna mornin! I'm startin to run outa things to talk about!
Well, I guess if ya pressed me, I could think of somethin' if I hadda! LOL.
That damn Drifter won't let me take a day off! LOL. That's ok. Don't think I'd trust his coffee anyway! He'd throw togrther some of that C-Rat stuff and put enough sugar and fake creamer in it to choke ya'd be my guess! ;) Of course, if that was all that was handy, I'd drink it and be glad to have it too! LMAO! I ain't that spoiled yet!
Paper'll be here in a bit. Get some more coffee and let's sit on the deck fer a bit and watch the sun come up! You can see dang near sixty miles straight East from here. It's quite a sight!
It's a new day folks! We can sure as hell get it right this time! If nothin' else, we'll get it better! Oughta be a good day! Well, what ya waitin' fer, written orders or what? Get yer coffee and join me in a minute!

Fellers on that coast think the world revolves around them! LOL. Well, I don't like to mess with a man's illusions. I do have some grace! As long as they ain't hurtin' anybody, I'll play along!;)

'Mornin' folks! How the hell are ya! Good to see ya! Coffee's on! Come on in and get some! Beautiful day yesterday wasn't it! Paper ain't here yet, so we'll just haveta visit fer a bit til ya get woke up! LOL.
Been havin' a pretty good time in chat the last couple days. Folks are startin to straggle back in from their trips and such. There are some seriously funny people runnin around here! LOL. Now if I only had a sense of humor, I could keep up with them.....what are you lookin' at! LOL. Ya get a chance ask IV about his fishin' trip! He said somethin' 'bout lightning inna bottle and bein' a bit confused fer some reason..... BarnDog gots his hillbilly jamboree this weekend so we'll be missing him fer a few days. I hope he has a blast! Gotta admire folks who can play any kinda instrument! I especially like women who can make bananas dance! ....What!.....LOL. Blame it on Rumble! She got me started again!
JAMarine is back from his trip and he's on evenin' shifts, too. So we'll be seein' him in and out as usual! Man had a chance to spend some good time with his family. I'm glad fer him! Even though we did miss him around here! Rat's new baby's doin' good and seems to be gettin along with his older daughter really well! I'm proud of him fer that! Means his daughter's being taught right! Man must be doin' something right even if he is a bit bent here and there! ;)
Been seein' some pretty damn good posts, too! Folks are havin' fun, but still payin' attention to what's goin' on. Lots of good info and reasoned opinions on the boards. You folks oughta be proud of yerselfs! Doin' a helluva job! Disagreements are bein' dealt with pretty much in private, and we don't see any personal attacks at all to speak of! I can appreciate that.
Well, folks, the word of the day is keep on doin' what yer doin'!
Hell. I think if we keep it up, we just might get it right someday! And if ya ain't careful, yer gonna do it better next time! LOL. It's a new day, folks! Lots of new opportunities! Warm up yer cup! Lets go out onna deck and watch the sun come up! Let's sit and relax fer a bit before we get started!
Its the p.m. now but some of us like to have coffee more than once a day. Tried to join you all for a cup yesterday morning but the "puter" told me there were too many marines on the net. Must of all been drinking coffee and nobody on work details.

Howdy folks! Come on in! Coffee's on! Good to see ya this mornin'! How ya doin' anyway! Paper ain't here yet, so we'll just haveta visit again! LOL.
I had somethin' to ask ya about, but I fergot what it was, so I'll just ramble fer a bit if ya don't mind! Hell, even if ya do! LOL.
I was visitin' with a couple folks the last two days about this and that, and it seemed like they was just wantin' to b itch and moan and carry on. Didn't matter what I hadda say about things, they always came back with a good reason why it wouldn't work. Finally got kinda harsh with the one just to get their attention, and it worked. In the course of the subsequent talk, I let 'em know why I got so harsh. Just to get their attention! They listened fer a bit and finally agreed with me, but really, I had missed the point! I keep fergettin' that sometimes folks don't really want advice or help, they just need someone to listen while they blow off some steam is all! Hell, sometimes they don't really need help, they know what to do already. It's just that now and then we all need someone to listen while we blow off a bit off pressure before we go deal with whatever it is ourselves. You'll haveta forgive me when I keep tryin' to help. I can't seem to sort that one out! Someone has a problem, I do my best to help whether they want it or not! LOL. I probably never will learn how to recognise when to listen and when to help! LOL. I'm a little thick about some things I figger! So if you folks wanta unload on me sometime, that's well and good, but don't be a bit surprised if ya find me tryin to help ya sort things out whether ya want me to or not! LOL. I just don't know any better! LMAO!
We all need someone to unload on now and then, that's what we're all here for! Figure there's been a few of you listened to me blow off steam a couple times. I'll tell ya now, thanks, I needed that! That's what it's all about, though, ain't it? Semper Fidelis! Always Faithful, whether we want to be or not, and whether we want the other feller to be, none of us can help it. It's a part of who we are. United States Marines!
Now if that's not some motivation for ya, they oughta be throwin' dirt in yer face about any second now! LMAO!
It's a new day folks! We got another chance to get it right today!
We get a chance to get it better this time! New opportunities folks! New chances. Look in the book, you fellers that be religious types, it's called redeemin' the time! ;) Hell, I been preachin' to ya all this time and you didn't know it did ya! LOL. 'Cept fer Sparrowhawk! But he be sneaky, too!
Warm up yer coffee! It's tastin' pretty good this mornin'! Sit down fer a bit and get yer day sorted out before ya get started! Stay ahead of the bastards! Ya gotta have a plan! LOL. It oughta be a good day today. I'm gonna sit on the deck fer a bit. Join me if ya want. I'll try to listen this time!

Goodmorning
Well I figured to say hello while my server is up....Been having problems since Tuesday....Verizon DSL has major problems and replacing some things at the time...Ellie has been fighting them, for the last few days...they knew they were having problems, but since it is only a so called few of us, they think we have no rights...Wrong move on Ellie....She hates it when these large companys try to take adventage of you...We pay for their service and deserve all the rights just like a large company...They were first trying to state it was our problem...Our computers all were no good...Ellie said you are trying to tell me, all three computers were no good all at once...We are on a network at my home...With 4 children and us on we needed that many and need more..LOL...In their data, they did not have us listed we were on the network system...Great notes....After finding out that, they decided to have Ellie check out there system..which had Ellie run around to all the computer...there is 1 on each of our 3 floors...LOL...so she could not keep running around so she said would call back when she had help...She and my son called a little later and did all their game play....Surprise its their fault...Would be another day or two till they fixed...Well Ellie decided to see, yesterday how things were going and ask a question, which was do I get a phone call, when the system was up....The so called tech...stated there was no work order stating there was no problem, well wrong words for Ellie she blew, wanted to speak to supervisor since this tech was saying again it was our problem again...Supervisor asked Ellie to do a few test again, which she said she would do but no repeating of the any test that was done...so he handed her back to the tech...well this so called tech knew Ellie was mad and she was still insisting it was our fault, all the computers are no good and our cordless phone was causing us problems...Well that did it Ellie asked for the supervisor again and stated to this woman you call yourself a tech...The tech hung up on Ellie....Now that was really a stupid move, they don't know Ellie....She was steaming, and I'm being nice guys...LOL...No more games, she called a few top consumer groups, and than called the top tech over all the other ones and the supervisors...Explained the story what all happened while this woman was reading all the notes on our file, After hearing everything and reading she states to Ellie, she did one simple test, while they were talking, and proved the problem is theirs and it is in the Main Central Office...she than gave Ellie a work order, and it was already sent to the right people which can take a few days to fix since it is tier that is out...It's costing them money....LOL...She also stated the tech that hung up on Ellie and the supervisor will get written up, because they did not do their job right...Well guys, we do have rights so make sure you fight for them, we can get what we are paying for...and the best part for all the trouble we are discounted for all the trouble...So they will be working on it, and calling Ellie to saying when it is fixed...So will keep you posted....just don't know when...They said 48 hours, if not Ellie already told them she will go to the FCC on this situation...No More Games....She doesn't play games either....They don't know Ellie....LOL...
Well all have a good day.....Hope to talk soon.....

Good Morning Folks, missed u all yesterday, went out to the desert needed some time.
Rog, that's all men were put on earth for!
To listen to women!
You ain't suppose to help them fix anything, just listen...LOL
It works best when you do it on the phone. You'll bees talking to them and when they start you can put down the phone and every three minutes or so, just pick up the phone and say, hum, hummm, yes and then you can put the phone back down and go on about your business. Gee, I though they taught that in Marine Corps Boot Camp 101... LMAO
Well it sprinkled yesterday, just enough to tease us.. Hopefully it'll rain if I can get the Man upstairs to listen to me, but sometimes when I calls all he seems to say is Humm hum, Yes....
Maybees I needs to do some of that repenting stuff...

'Mornin' folks! How ya doin' this mornin'! Paper'll be here in a bit! Come on in and get some coffee! It's good to see ya! How ya doin'? Are ya awake yet!
It's been hot the last couple days here. Nice at night and early in the mornings, though!
Someone check on Tex, I understand he's havin' a helluva storm down there. prmama gettin' ready to to move to NYC. She needs a change of pace, I think. Somebody check on USMC0311, too! Haven't heard from him in a couple days. There's some others we need to visit with. Haven't seen them lately. Folks like troop901 and SAAD65 and GaPeach and a few others. I know folks been busy but some of them might be MIA or UA, we gotta make sure! LOL.
Now that that's outta the way, I figure I oughta remind ya that fall is gettin' here! Start gettin ready fer winter! Get plenty of coffee stocked in in case ya get snowed in! LOL!
Kinda loosen up a bit this weekend if ya can! We got enough to deal with without folks not takin' a break now and then. Do somethin' with the family, do somethin' fer yerself this weekend! Trouble'll still be there waitin' on ya on Monday, now, so ain't no sense worryin' it over on the weekend! Set yer plans up , and then take the day off! Go fishin', go to a movie, take the Ol Lady out fer dinner, hell, flirt with her a bit! You'll both have fun!
Take the kids fer a walk inna woods, or down to the park and play some softball, or horseshoes or somethin'. Have a little bit of fun, and try to remember what it was like when you were little, long days, the taste of an ice cream cone, or a hotdog! Soda pops under the elms or maples, and maybe, if yer lucky, yer kids will remember it for the rest of their lives, that the family played together and had a good time on Satudays! They might even remember the time ya gave their Mom that yechy kiss! Give you and your family something to remember. Good memories. You gotta build them! No one else will do it for ya!
That's what fall days are for! That's what Indian summer is for!
In a few weeks, don't forget to play in the leaves ya rakin' up!
Just remember......no matter how good your memories are....make better ones!
Well, warm up yer coffee! Sit a spell and figure out what ya gonna do today! Relax! it's the weekend! Ain't no hurry today! It's a new day, folks! New chances to get it right! Always another chance to do it all better this time! I got faith in ya! ;) That coffee tastes good don't it!

Good mornin' folks!Come on in and set a spell! Make yerselves to home. Coffee's on, make sure ya fill yer cup up! I really like that French Roast. It's tastin' good this mornin'!
I've been havin' a helluva good time havin' coffee with ya in the mornin', even if ya don't say too much! Sometimes it's just good to sit and listen ain't it. Bein' around folks who've been down some of the same trails and such as you have. I understand if you don't say much. Bein' around folks like you, I call it "gettin' outta the weather." Sometimes you just need to step inside out of the weather this life throws at you and sit a spell, and know the folks around ya understand. That's a real good and peaceful feeling ain't it. It's called companionship. When everyone around understands and words ain't necessary.
Why do I spout off so much then! LOL. Well, sometimes I gotta do it fer myself. Put things in concrete form that don't really have form so to speak. Maybe help you understand your own thoughts and feelings a bit better. Hearin' someone else say it helps us to better know what's goin' on sometimes. Sometimes like wtih me, if I hear myself say it out loud, I know the truth in what it is better than I did before. If nothin' else, I give someone else a chance to get me straightened out! LOL. I need all the help I can get some days, too!
Maybe I just spout off so ya know yer not alone, too. Sometimes the mornin' watch is a long and lonely mother ****er! It gets dark if ya ain't careful. Kinda scary sometimes, too! Sometimes hearin' another voice dronin' on helps ya to know yer not alone, and that everythings gonna be alright, no matter what happens. I hope I been givin' ya a chance to get yer head right before ya walk out the door in the mornin'.
I know it doesn't seem like it sometimes, but it's a good life, folks. There's beauty in all of it! There were times when I was in the Corps, that what I saw around me just stunned me into silence, and all the best pictures in the world couldn't catch it! Sometimes it was the people around me that did it. Marines like you. My fellow Marines. I hope in some small way that I've returned that to you and re-opened your eyes to some of that wonder, some of that beauty.
Lord willin' and the creek don't rise, I'll keep doin' it til ya get tired of hearin' that voice drone on in the dark of the mornin' watch. Of course, I'm stupid stubborn, I'd keep dronin' on whether ya liked it or not! LOL!
It's Sunday, folks! New week ahead. Time of year for endings and gettin' ready for new beginnings in a few months, too. Maybe if you think about it, ya just might get a chance to do it better this go 'round! Maybe get it right! Paper ain't here yet, but I got the front page and the comics, you folks can have the rest! Coffee's tastin' good this mornin', get a refill, and let's sit fer a bit and see if keepin' outta the weather fer a few minutes'll help us get our heads right! It's a comfort havin' coffee with ya!;) Semper Fidelis, folks!

Well bones, good seein' ya. I don't do coffee... seems I've got too many vices already :) So I'll just have some hot chocolate.. ever notice how hot chocolate starts out too hot (need a donut for dunkin 'til it cools off ta drinkin temp.) and ends up too cold? Never did figure that one out. A coke will do me now and then, warm or cold, don't matter much to me, long as it's wet and tastes good. Weather here's been coolin a bit, got highs in the 70's and low 80's with night time getting into the 50's and low 60's. It is nice. I could smell Fall coming on. It's gonna be nice cuttin the wood up for the winter. Wife had a good batch of corn come up in the garden. Course, me hittin it with Miracle Grow 4 times this past Summer didn't hurt any. It sure was sweet. She's got all sorts of stuff coming up. Bak choy, tomatos, jalapenos, snow peas and various squash. I grow grass.. no, not that kind, just a yard. But a green yard is a joy. Kids play on it, dog lays in it and the damn gopher digs it up. Shot him with the BB gun a while back, ain't seen him since. Perhaps that's all it took. Or, it's hybernating and gonna come back next year with all its kin. It is good to have conversation with good company. Every now and again it's really nice to just have silence... can ya hear it? The sigh of the wind in the tall pines... The squirrel gatherin the nuts for winter... The Western Meddow Lark sings a pretty tune... Just as you believe you've found perfection and it just can't get any better than this ... DAD DAD DAD DAD DAD ... Make me some french toast and sausage. LOL. The calm is gone, but it's still perfect. It won't be any better 'til tomorrow. After some breakfast, the ladies of the house will have to watch LMN on the lil' TV upstairs. Dad has a big screen TV and it's now football season. Don't really care who wins (unless the Cowboys or the Seahawks are palyin) and I don't keep track of the stats. I just like my football. I just like a good game. May take part of the day and hit the hills, there's some deer up there and they need to be eaten. We'll see how that goes, but even a bad day of hunting (never had one of those) is better than a good day at work! Y'all take care... Good sharin a mornin with ya.

It sure is nice to sit down with Friends and Fellow Marines and enjoy a good cup of coffee or two. Barrio_Rat, yes it is funny about hot chocolate. Life is full of mysteries, but along the way we find some of the answers, than again the people we meet have some more answers for us. We all should take a little time to stop and look around, there is so much beauty and good around us. The media always plays up the ugly and bad, often forgetting about the good and beauty.
It is Friends and Marines like you that keep us going. Helping each other when we faulter. Our wivies are special, because it takes a unique person to understand us and be there for us.
Paper is late as usual, already on my second cup of coffee. It is a nice morning, having Ellie sitting next to me, enjoying a quiet morning together without the kids.

Good to know that it wasn't all in my head. Just Bones talking and setting me straight.
Going to church this morning, putting on my Sunday-go-to-meeting suit and tie and all that and do some repenting for all of us. Especially for that Drifter fellow.
Was talking to the Lord the other day and I said to him, you know Roger and Ellie on Leatherneck.com and he said, I know Ellie but who's Roger. LMAO
So, I moved Rog up to the top of my prayer chain, especially once the Lord had one of his angels look Roger up on the heaven Internet system. But then the Lord started comparing Rogers chart to mine. Almost got him to eyeing me differently. So, I figured I might be in trouble again, so I figured I'll get Rog to back me up..., that way I don't look half as bad..........LOL
Its always good to see words of wisdom on this line, to come in early in the morning and know the East Coast is up and running, and checking in on Sophora in Tucson, MillRat and Linda in Indiana, Socks in Tennessee, Barrio-rat and Nelson in Oregon, radmaw in New Mexico and Tex-Mark in.... heck I don't know what state he's in. LMAO
Good coffee this morning, but it taste funny, smell reminded me of the French women I used to date...
Ooooophs, more stuff to repent about.....
I wonder if the Good Lord says "Semper Fi," every once in awhile. I guess he must, him having to check up on those Marines on Gate duty at the entrance and all....

Good morning! How are ya this morning? Coffee's on, folks, get some! Paper'll be here after a bit. Coffee's tastin' pretty good, too! Have a cup and a sitdown before ya start yer day.
I don't have too much on my mind this mornin, I guess. Just kinda scatter brained. Haven't got in gear yet myself! LOL. You could say that fer now, I'm content. Sometimes you do all you can do, and then sit and wait. Learn how to wait, folks. Most anyone who's been a Marine knows how to wait, but I'm talkin' about the kinda waitin where you've done all ya can, and there ain't no more to do. There's peace in that sometimes. Ya gotta look for it.
It's difficult for me sometimes and I know better! LOL. It's the kinda peace where you know you've done your best, and you've considered everything that you can to make sure you didn't miss something. It's the kinda peace where the end result is taken out of your hands and becomes someone else's responsibility. Yeah, you're gonna wonder, and you'll be there to help out, but there's really not much more you can do.
You've trained and schooled and yelled and hollered and cajoled and rewarded and punished and picked them up and carried them and taught them and now it's their responsibility. It's not really yours anymore. Watch and see if they don't make you proud!
Kids or FNG's. The same principles work and the emotions are quite the same. Ya done yer best, now let them make ya proud!
Goin' to be a beautiful day today! A new week! If you're lucky, ya got another chance to get it all sorted out. Maybe even get a chance to get it done a bit better....Warm up yer cup! Coffee's pretty good this mornin'! Let's sit on the deck and watch the sun come up! This time of year that's a real pretty sight!

*pours a cup* Man, whata weekend. Got home from Wheatland festival last nite..... think I slept about 10 hours in 4 days. LOL What a damm good time. We had Camp Marine right behind Performers Camp, musta, had 30 Jarheads come thru over the weekend. Great time. Well, lmfao, that little 'political battle' there at Wheatland...... found out one of the board members decided upon himself he was gonna 'birddog' me. See, with the new haircut, it wasn't until Sat afternoon when I put on the tie skirt (kilt) that most of them (the board members of wheatland) didn't even know I was there. HAHA. Sunday around NOON, Charlie and I marched up to main stage - he with the American flag, I with the Marine Corps flag.
We gained immediate attention by our presense alone - 14,000 people going damm near silent tend to do that (as we should) and when the Board Members turned around and looked......abeit in horror as we stared- unflinching as Marines are supposed to do. They have set the lines for battle - we shall meet them on our terms of battle. I have already taken one board member out myself..... I'll take out the other 15 if necessary, then we can start over.
I really got their attention when I marched back in front of the stage - and got lots of 'OHHH RAAHHHHHHS' from the crowd. They (the crowd knows what's happening..... LOLOLOL)
Politicians tend to screw everything up don't they? Isn't it my HONOR to keep them in check???? Hold them accountable for their actions????
I thought so.

Before I start let's pour the coffee......ok.....
Weather no big change still hot and humid, with no rain....ok...not as hot as it has been all summer but still hot and above the norm.....The leaves on the trees still green as ever...no change yet to say fall is around the corner....Hell the leaves look better than the lawn, which has a brown tint to it from the lack of water...Can't water the lawn much, since we are suppost to conserve water...Hell they have a dye that we can sprinkle on the lawn to make it look greener....LOL...what are they going to come up with next....The birds and the squirrels are still doing their summer activities....another sign the heat is still going to be with us....Well when I see them start preparing for winter, then I will start doing my winter chores....
Great you had a good time at your festival Barndog....It's nice to do something different which you enjoy....

Barndog, get some!
Great, that's what’s good about politicking, putting them entrusted with those duties in their place. I love it.
Used to be a time, sometimes it still happens when I walk into a school board meeting, the board members began to visibly quake. Public knows it and they laugh their heads off.
Newspapers have called me among other things a community activist! LMAO
All I did was called them stupid in a round about way, and it took awhile before they realized what I had done.
Good morning and tks for the coffee. Had a bit of rain last night and believe me it is much needed here in Santa Fe. Speaking of politicians you should see some of the solutions they propose to solve the water problems around here. Anything to accomodate their political angels. Its alway good to sit in on the morning coffee hrs and partake in a little give and take. Wish I could remember the location of the little coffee shop in downtown Riverside. Used to go there when I worked for the Riverside County Supt of Schools. I have to go and workout, usually do this 3 times a week if I'm not out on the golf course. Have a great day.:)

Howdy folks! How ya doin' this mornin'? Ya awake yet? Get yerself some coffee and set fer a spell! Cooled off a bit finally, then we got some rain. Looks like it's gonna be a good day. Paper ain't here yet, so we'll haveta wait on it.
You know, when I sit and have coffee with you in the mornin' one thing comes to mind pretty well all the time. Peace. It's gettin' comfortable to set up coffee for ya in the mornin' and have ya visit with me! We all have little habits that we get into and it's nice sometimes to have a few of those habits. They often bring us some bit of comfort.
Continuity some people call it. We all need some of that.
We don't like too much change all at once, but life is change, so we turn to little things, like coffee in the mornin', or when we get home from work, we all have those little things we do that help us to relax a bit as we discard the cares of work before we take on the homelife. It might be kicking yer shoes off and gettin' a cold drink and watchin' the news or something similiar.
The trick is to know that we cannot always rely on the time or resources to be able to do this. Too much comfort and habit can get us into complacency. Once in awhile this is alright, but even complacency can become a habit. Do something different today, just to be doin' somethin' different....It might be time to hit that refresh button again! LOL.
Continuity is a good thing! But now and then.....be different!
Warm up your coffee folks! Work out your day, think ahead, but do something spontaneous today. Have a little fun. Ya just might find a litle peace in it. Maybe you'll see a chance to get it right this time! Might even set yourself up to get it done a bit better! ;). I think I'll sit on the deck and watch the sun come up. Join me if ya want. That ol' sunrise is just a bit diferent every day, ain't it.....

Bones, good to see you got the coffee going. I can use a nice strong cup of coffee.
Life is!
Had a wonderful day yesterday. Colleen gave me a call early in the morning so, I cleared my schedule. My secretary showed up for work so she got to meet her.
Then we were off, stopped at my wife's work and CAS got to meet her. Both being Irish they hit it off right away. Then we were off to meet Ladyleatherneck for lunch in Anaheim. We sat and talked for two hours, and found out where Laura gets pulled over by the police on 1st street. Come to think about it, seems like there were other ladies standing at he corner there, talking to police officers…..LOL
After lunch we came home and my wife suggested CAS get some sleep, she was tired after droppings off her new husband at midnight at LAX. He's on his way to Okinawa. She slept for about three hours, and then she was also able to meet three of my five daughters.
Funny how you meet folks on the Internet, here at Leatherneck.com. I'm really not the one to seek to get to know folks, but you always wonder about the folks your talking too. As soon as CAS got to my house, and came running out of her truck, I knew she was a great lady. We hugged and I know she was glad to be somewhere where she could relax for awhile. When my wife got home from work and Colleen awoke from her sleep, they of coursed talked, and talked as women tend to do. I’m glad men folks are not like that.
Greatest compliment Colleen gave us, was when my wife asked her if she was able to sleep alright, and Colleen said, "Yes, its like being home."
That's what these morning posts are like. Like being home.
Good morning Bones and troops. Its always nice to sit and drink coffee with you especially on a morning like today. We had some San Diego type weather this a.m., a little foggy which is unusual here in Santa Fe. had some more rain around 3 a.m which is much appreciated. I guess that in order to do some spontaneously we have to do it without planning. Lets see if we are able to seize the moment when it presents itself. Soon the wife will be off to the hairdresser and I'll home babysitting a couple of the grandkids. Might as well have another cup of coffee before she leaves.:classic:

Can spontaneity be planned? I guess not. Yesterday was a good day. Went out hunting for the second time this season. Don't get much time to do it, so gotta make it worth my while when I go. Buddy of mine and I headed for a different area. Lots of land out there... Had to take some switchback trails. On one side it wasn't too bad.. Just a steep hill going way on up.. On the other, well, there was nothing.. LOL. Sharp drop and a long way to the bottom. Had to use 4 wheel drive for a part of it. Was worth it though... Found some right nice, rarely seen by human eyes, country. Saw a few deer, good size too. Stopped a bit to see what they'd do. Doe's, but seeing ‘em is pretty good any o' way. They were a bit skittish and we attributed that to the cows being skittish. Seems the ranchers were roundin' up their stock for the winter. Had ‘em all jumpin' around a bit. ‘Bout mid day we got spontaneous, I suppose, and took a nap. Much needed as neither of us had slept much the night before. We figured we'd head on through, buddy said he knew of an area with plenty of trees and green grass that them deer were sure to be hiding in. Came to a sign that read, PRIVATE PROPERTY BOTH SIDES OF ROAD FOR NEXT 12 MILES, NO HUNTING. Well, we just figured to drive on through and see what was on the other side. Let me tell ya, 12 miles of dirt road is a long way. That's a lot of land too. When we got through the 12 miles we came to another ranch! Don't it just figure. Just beyond that, the freeway. We were about an hour, by freeway, from home. Covered a good bit of ground that day. Buddy said he knew of another area so we went out there. Found a lot more posted private lands. Saw a few more deer too. So we headed home to be on the freeway before it got too dark out. By the time we got to his house it was dark. Saw some stars I ain't seen in a while. Too much light in town and I am a bit lower in elevation than him. Even saw the Milky Way. Ain't seen that in quite a while. It was a very good day. Would have been nice to get a shot off and even to have some meat to bring home. For me, that ain't the point of hunting. Hunting is a man's excuse to get out there and do a bunch of spontaneous nothing.
No hunting today. Wife has to be at the hospital soon. They gotta run some more tests and such. She had gestational diabetes and they wanna make sure that she's over it. That's a long time of sitting and thinkin' about hunting! LOL
Y'all have a great day. I should be on later. Take care and Semper Fi.
By the way, wasn't it nice of the Dallas Cowboys to let the Houston Texans have a win. Might neighborly of ‘em. Ya just know a New Yorker wouldn't be so kind to his neighbor. :)

*cleans up the place a little* Man, a guy takes a few daze off and you slobs just take over. Might have finally recouperated from Wheatland festival. I usually only sleep a couple hours a nite there, so when we get home it's a couple of really zoned out days and nites. Then (YAY) right into the hygentists chair at the dentist. Then I go over to the jobsite..... to find nobody there and my 8' ladder sitting outside..... $110 worth. That kinda p!ssed me off. Nothing like coming back to work, and finding tools out and nobody there. Then NEXTEL is down - has been for 4 days now here.
Is it Monday? Or, did I miss something while I was gone..... Anyways, Festival was great as usual - abeit for the political crap. But, I am taking measures to rectify that issue. Unfortunatley, some of the people responsible for the 'triumph of power over principle' (as I call it) have never heard of what happens when you p!ss of the Marines.
By next year's festival in September, they certanly will know.

Mornin folks! How are ya this mornin'! Coffee's on. Why don't ya get yerself some! Paper ain't here yet of course! Well, come on in!
Don't have a thing on my mind this mornin'. Some of you fellers might think that's a good thing! LOL. It's cooled off a bit the last few days. Might have one more stretch of warm weather before first snow. Beautiful fall weather right now. Couple more weeks, the leaves'll turn on the trees. Everything up here turns a golden color 'cept for the pines of course. Don't get the splash of color some places do, but ya get these beautiful vignettes as yer drivin' down the road or walkin' through the woods. Spearfissh Canyon is a popular drive around here in the falll. Lots of other places all through the hills just as beautiful.
There's always folks every year who miss such sights. Marines who'll be scattered all over everywhichwhere. Some of those folks'll think what we talk about in the mornin's is a waste of time. When I was a kid my Dad used to go fer coffee in the mornin'. I remember wantin' to go with him. One day he actually let me! LOL. I was bored to tears.LOL. Some ways, now, I wish I'd known to pay more attention. On ocassion, I've since found that thoses fellers havin' their mornin' coffee weren't really so borin'. I was just pretty self involved at the time. Those old farts always seemed to know what was goin' on without ever leavin' home 'cept to go for mornin' coffee!LOL
As I look back, I realize that's why my Dad always seemed to know what was really goin' on around the area. Who was neededin' help, who was job huntin' and who was screwin' up. Sometimes it was me! LOL. Those old timers were enjoyin' each others company and learnin who needed help, and just exactly what was goin' on in their world. For what was goin' on in the rest of the world, they watched Walter Conkite! LOL
Pay attention kids. Even old farts'll surprise! . One of these days remind me to tell ya about the Grey Beard Battalion in the Civil War.
Well, warm up yer coffee folks. Set a spell before ya start yer day!We got another chance to get it right....maybe even do it better this time!
(;) Did ya notice how I challenged you ol farts to pay more attention to what's goin on around ya! LOL. And lettin' the current crop know that maybe...just maybe....us old farts might still know a thing or two! LMAO)
If I gotta explain it to ya, you ain't payin' attention! LOL

Morning folks, CAS is still on the road she hopes to stay tonight at her in-laws home, seems they have taken a liking to her.
LOL
Well gotta go water the lawn before I take daughter to the train station this morning.
Good Coffee this morning...
I know what you mean Bones about coffee in the morning. When CAS was with me, I showed her Carroll's where I go for coffee most mornings with the menfolks from around the area. We sit and talk, politics, religion, about neighbors, relatives, weather, cost of food, property, and the liberal newspaper.
I was there last September 11, shortly after the planes struck New York City. Sat in the main section of the restaurant and watched it unfold on TV before us.
You sort of form a bond with folks like that, cause you know someone will show up for coffee in the morning and sit and talk awhile.

Coffee's on folks! Glad to see ya this morning! Grab a cup and get yerself some coffee!
Yesterday was a bit weird for me all the way around. Had a conflict with the wife of a disabled Vet, but I won't go there. Caught her lying and being rude, and her old man is too busted up to know what's really goin' on. Figure she'll get an earful from me one time or another that I see her.
Other than that, I had absolutely nothing to say about yesterdays except for one thing, and Sparrowhawk pretty much addressed that issue. It's about making sure that those who attacked the United States are never capable of doing such a thing again. Period. I don't want to see good men from my Marine Corps die. It is necessary that individuals with affiliations to corrupt and tyrannical governments be stopped using every means at our disposal. It is necessary that they be stopped now and stopped permanently. Period.
I have heard many things from civilians and Marines concerning what to do, or what not to do. One thing I have heard that makes me wonder is Marines who say no we shouldn't go. To me they have put themselves with other foriegn governments who say that the US had it coming, or that the US deserved it. These words have come from Europeans as well as Arab states.
These people say that there are other ways to handle the situation Peaceful ways. These ways were never considered by those who attacked us or encouraged and allowed those attacks. The option of discourse was ignored by those who attacked us. The option of diplomacy was ignored by those who attacked us. There were many other options available to them including financial options, if only symbolic in scope. None of these options were considered.
These states and individuals attacked without provocation. without remorse.
They have declared war, not us.
They came into our house.
They killed indiscriminately.
They destroyed lives indiscriminatley.
Now we defend ourselves.
Period.
Just something to think about. Warm up your coffee. Set a spell and enjoy the sun comin up. Think about folks like yerselves doin' what they got to do over the next few years. Be thankful that there are others like you who are keeping us free in our own homes today. Maybe we'll get it right this time. I hope to hell we do it better.

Told ya I don't do coffee...
But then, the taste of politics in the mornin' ain't so bad either. Like what you had to say there, bones. Well done. 'Bout time you got it off yer chest too. While I do agree with you, for the most part, let me take devils advocate for a bit. What states or countries actually did sponser this?
So far, we only know it was Al Queda and they've been ousted from Afghanastan and disrupted greatly (though not completely). Of course there are other ways. Peace should always be attempted diplomatically. That's why we have a civilian president and not a military leader (oh, to have Chesty Puller as president!). Personally, I think that our current president has tried these diplomatic means. I also think that, like his father, he did it in ways that made the opposition (Hussein) think of us as week or unwilling to fight to the finish. I do think it is wrong for the United States, in defense of itself, to have to go before the UN for permission to strike at someone who has openly stated that he would and will attack us. I also think that Europe is full of complete idiots in believing that this is only our fight and that containment of Hussein will result in some kind of victory. I would not be suprised if another attack by the Al Queda network (or one from Iraq) happens soon. Either in Europe or again here in the United States - perhaps even an attack in the Middle East. It would bolster public support to continue and step up the war effort. It would also gain allies in the war effort.
I know I said I'd take devils advocate and I have tried. I can usually do it, even if I don't agree with it, when there is a logical thought process to it. For me, there really is none here. Some would say, violence never solved anything. Well, there's some things to let those people know. It was violence that created this great nation of ours. It was violence that stopped Germany two times from taking over the world. It was violence that turned back Saddam Hussein the first time and it will be used again this time against him. Violence has been used a great deal in history, for both good and bad. Violence, when put to order and discipline, can accomplish a great deal.
I love this stuff (ya know what word should really be there! lol). Open discussion of politics and world events without argument. To hear a rational side to all aspects of current events. To have valued and informed opinions to the world around us. It is a great thing that we can do this. It should be practiced and participated in, often.

Well new day new start....hey I'm starting to sound like Bones....LOL...
Well my internet service has been on for almost 24 hours...That's a great way to start out the day...LOL...They are coming today to fix the line now to my house, since they keep replacing lines and the tests keep failing....LOL...I'm trying to keep a sence of humor, but this is making me angry, since I'm paying for a service, and had to fight my way to the top to make them see they have a major problem...Well I should say Ellie, she is a fighter and will not tolerate people walking all over her...She has been on the phone with them for hours on end doing test after test which was failing all the time...We now have all the top techs baffled...LOL...They are finding out there is a few major problems with the service with us...I wonder how many more...Some people don't fight, because the first words out of their mouths is your computer is no good....Well I have a few computers, and it isn't impossible, but not all at the same time...Right now they have me hooked up with their system, too keep me going, till they fix the system..LOL....
It is cool morning this morning, but it is a least confortable...just need to wear a long sleeve till it warms up soon...Well better let you go for now, they should be here soon to fix the lines...

Talking about politics...
The Arabs remind me of the kid on the block that was a bully and you pinned him down and asked him to submit.
To acknowledge he lost by saying "Uncle." He would say, "Uncle," but as soon as you let go, he would strike you again, or come up with some lame excuse of why he was still superior then you, or he could still whip your butt.
Ishmael's descendants, the Arab's are perfectly described in the scriptures by God.
<b>"And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren."</b> Gen 16:11-12KJV"
Right after Israel's "Six Day War victory" against overwhelming odds, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria, a general armistice agreement was signed. But shortly thereafter the defeated Arabs claimed full belligerent rights, including the right to renew active hostilities at will, and they further denied Israel any form of legitimacy or recognition.
Defeat at the hands of the relatively small, formally disparaged Jewish Army only redoubled their humiliation. Some of them after that defeat, sought revenge not only against Israel, but against the inept Arab rulers it had humbled."
The Arab pride and arrogance will always prevent them from having peace in a world they refuse to live in unless they are in power.
What I would Love for Bush to say, is to the Arab world, so that the "the Arab street," understands, America's resolve. Is this...
<b>"If there is any terrorist act against America, where lives are lost then Mecca will be gone as well as Saudi Arabia's Largest city. We will then take over your oil fields." </b>
<hr>

Coffee's on folks! Come on in and get some. It's good to see you this mornin'! We'll haveta stay inside this mornin'. It seems to be pretty wet outside! Been rainin' pretty steady all night and most of yesterday. Well... ya could go outside in yer poncho and drink lukewarm C-Rat coffee I guess...;) LOL.
Once again, I have little to say this mornin'. Just a good day tp stay inside for me. Don't haveta worry about waterin' the yard anyway...
I have a couplea things on my mind, but they haven't come to a point yet. Things about Bush's speech and a couple things around here. I figure to go on a rant in a day or so about all of it. Soon's it all makes sense to me.
Been havin' a couple folks slippin' religion into things here and there. It's supposed to be a free country. I figure I'll have my say in a few days on that, too. Don't like goin' after politics or religion much. Folks seem to think that their own opinion is the only one that matters. They get all upset if ya don't adhere to their way of thinkin'. It's all about freedom. I can pull that one outta the Book, too. When you begin to force your own thinkin' on others, you are attempting to force your opinions on them, and in the process replace them with your own. You become, then, a tyrant.
They have the right to be wrong! LOL.
Actually, I'm kinda upset about something that's been coming to a head for me. I'll think about it some more and let ya know where I'm at with all of it pretty soon. Promise.
I might not get it right this time and I might not do it any better, but I will damn sure try. It's a new day! I will have another chance! LOL.

Had a few drop fall on Sunny California the other day and the weather channel issued a <b><i>Storm Warning!</b></i> LOL
Took on one of my daughters teachers yesterday, she ****ed me off when she said that its mandatory for them to use a computer at home to access their classroom assignments then refused to write the assignments on the board.
Emailed her and send her a letter...
Don't like to be told that I must provide a computer and an Internet connection for my high school student. When the school doesn't provide it for all students, I guess that was my grip, other students unable to access the class assignments because they don’t have access to a computer.
Well got an answer from her this morning and she was covering her ass. Not at all what my daughter says happens in class. Daughter knows that I will respond quickly to help them out. Hope that she does now what she says she does in her response.
Anyways glad to have that out of the way, now about religion and politics, I don’t talk about that. LOL
Guess when it’s all part of you; it’s hard to not compare politics and religion with what is going on in the world. Had I lived during the 1st century I probably would have been one of the disciples, one that the good Lord would had had to pray extra hard for and would probably had me walk point so that I would be the first one to get stoned...LOL
We would have had a heck of a time with his winemaking abilities, and can you imagine a grunt among a bunch of fisherman?
I guess He must like us, if He has Marines guarding Heaven's gate. If I get that assignment when I get up there, and I see any of you coming, just remind me we met on Leatherneck.com, I'll put in a good word for you and try to get you all in. Maybe we can have a reunion in the wine room section of heaven?

'Mornin' folks! Coffee's on! Get some! We went from runnin' the air conditioner to runnin' the heater all in one day! LOL. Cooled off a bit here. Might warm up a bit before Halloween, but it usually gets COLD the last week of October.
I figure the VA thing fer me is lookin' pretty good right now. Still got some things to do, but that ain't nuthin'. Told the local VA honcho that I changed the way state law was interpreted concerning Veterans, and I'd go after him and the Feds the same way if I haveta! We'll see how that works out. ;) They about to get under my skin if ya know what I mean! LOL.
I'll just learn their rules and such and make them adhere to them! Then when they say "We got you taken care of." I'll let them know that's no longer the point. Then they'll be after fixin' at least one thing....whatever it is! I'm fixin' to get mad at 'em!;)
Anyway, what's been goin' on in yer world today? Ya got the wood ready fer the winter? Sophora, Sparrowhawk and LL just gotta change to a different sunscreen! LOL. TexMark and cbt1371eng don't know what winter is I don't think...just those Blue Northers...and they don't count! LOL.
Only thing been on my mind today is a little check is all....How's yer thinkin' been? You know, the kinda thing where ya jump all over someone else, but then find yerself doin' the exact same sort of thing?
It happens to all of us, no matter how hard we try. Thing is, to do yer best to examine what yer thinkin' to make sure ya makin' sense! It kinda slows ya down a bit when ya considerin' what ya say before ya say it. Gives ya a chance to sort it out, then address the issue. Folks just may figger ya fer bein' a tad slow, but if ya make sense, they might figger ya fer a deep thinker, too! Just somethin' to think about....
Well, It's a new day. Weekend and all. Do somethin' with the family today! Make some good memories! We got another chance to get it right today. Maybe if we're lucky, we'll do it right this time! I'm gonna sit and watch the news. Paper ain't here, so we gotta wait on it. Warm up yer cup and join me fer a bit if ya want. It's gonna be a good day!

* pours a cup* Man what a week from hell. We come home from Wheatland.... the usual musical/family high sorta thing. Wife is sick with sinus infection, coughin and hackin all nite. I finally got my voice back. Then, I discover one of the guys I sent on a job, decided to 'take' it all for himself, then lie around it. Sucks for him that the homeowner called me. So, I have been avoided the job he's been on all week due to concern for his continued health ( I woulda ripped his head off and sh!t in the hole)... So, I did bids for other jobs, and decided how to handle it.
So, my other guy calls me last nite askin to get paid. I told ihm to come over for a beer. Sat and explained to him what happened. Needless to say, he aint really happy either. But, the nice thing is, he knows whats going on. Still dont make me feel any better in the long run. We came to a collective decision, and that's that. The really bad thing is, this guy (the one that ripped me off) 'was' a friend - lifelong at that. The really ugly part is, that he assumed I was either stupid or kind hearted enough to let this one slide. HUH? No. Not f*&#ing even. This is my business - this is, hence, my life.
And after all the second chances I've given him, he turns and does this? The other things he has done are minor - didn't involve money or property.
This time, he has to meet one p!ssed off Marine

'Mornin' folks! How ya doin'! Good to see ya this mornin'! Coffee's on, get yerself some!
Had a good time in chat last night. Felt like bein' in the barracks! LOL. People talkin **** and givin' each other ****. Had a Brand New Marine in there night before last, too! Just graduated Boot! Bein' called a Marine instead of a recruit was a new experience to him! Hope he gets used to new experiences pretty quick! LOL.
Later on last night we had a few new folks in. Good people, too. 'Cept for the one Young Marine. Typical. 14 year old trying to tell us what Honor was and such. USMC0311 called him the worst thing imaginable too! "****ing Liberal!" LMAO. I finally called the kid down, and then the whole buncha us got booted at the same time! LOL.
It's been good to see more of the active duty Marines around too. I'm proud of them! They all seem to be good folks and good Marines!
Well, folks, I'm gonna start that little rant I promised ya! Keep yer eyes open! LOL
Coffee's pretty good this mornin'! Have another cup and set a bit before ya start yer week. Hope ya got things planned out! Ya gotta have a plan! ;)
It's a new day folks! we can get it right this time, I figger. Might even do it a bit better if we hold our mouths right! LMAO! Paper ain't here yet, you can join me on the deck fer a bit. It's been nice out there lately....

*pours a cup* damm fine lifer juice Bones. Man I been tryin chat, but never see anyone there. I wanted to talk to Shaffer to see about getting the chat onto an IRC server (which is alot more user friendly). Someone see's him, tell him to email me pls.
WTF does a 14 year old know about Honor anyway? First thing I wanna know, does he know the difference between a p!ss hardon and a real one yet.
Yesterday was my boot camp anniversary. I shoulda went and got hammered, but I stayed home and did alot of reflection. Instead, I searched my soul for the meaning of this Eagle, Globe and Anchor that I earned. I found myself drifting into periods of time on active duty where the significance of that emblem made every single minute of my enlistment worth it. The long hours. The 23+ mile force march on the main page where the Marines stopped and reflected on 9/11 at Red Beach. Did that same march plenty of times. Got some emails from my old Top at HML-267 the other day - included was a picture of General Phillips : I was promoted by him at one point in my tour.
Reading those emails from Top A - I can hear that booming voice of his still to this day. He said to me... ' how in the hell can you still remember the good old days at 267........' it's easy. It's the Marines you serve with. It's those few that make your time worth it. The one's that won't let you give up, those same ones that will yank yer ass off the ground when yer down and carry you when you can't carry yourself. Top, Gunny V, Gunny Clayton, Gunny Godshall - these are guys I looked up to each and every day. Not because I was some pee-on - because I had respect and admiration for them and what they had done in their time.
Top also said....... " make sure you keep in touch - the '04 Popasmoke reunion in Las Vegas will have over 2000 Marines. I don't wan't to miss you..." (www.popasmoke.com - Marine/Vietnam Helicopter association)
That made my whole tour in one short sentence.

It's good to see y'all makin' it in here. Good to have good company. Bones, I like yer rantin'. Funny though, yer there rantin' and all of us are watchin', noddin' our heads and sayin', "yup, that's the truth, bro!" LOL. If'n yer gonna rant, it would seem you'd wanna stir up somethin', get peoples panties in a bind and make bark back. But, sometimes, a rant is good as it can cleanse the soul.
That 14 year old had more than just bones in a bit of a bind. He went on about what OUR oath was and how WE should interpret and conduct our selves under it. That we gave an oath to God, Country and Corps. That we made the oath to the Flag. I let him know, just because he didn't seem to get it, that the Corps is older than the Country. That, for me, it is God, Corps and Country. That the Constitution is what I gave an oath to defend. The Constitution that stated from the people the Government would have powers. Those same powers that could be taken away. That it would take an act by this Government to take away the Corps and that would be of a Constitutional matter for which I would fight. I would fight this Government to preserve the Constitution and the Corps. He also went on about the uniform and how the uniform is just clothing. He just didn't get it. I think I know what he was getting at. He didn't seem to understand that when we say uniform, it's not the cloth, it's what the uniform represents. All those that past before us. Who tread in places we hope no one else will ever have to embark. How it represents those who will come after us, who will do us all honor in wearing it proudly. All of these people who have ever worn the uniform have a bond that no one, who has not worn it, understands. He also went on a bit about how we should be there to support the Army and other armed forces. This seemed a bit strange to me. With few exceptions, I don't think we ever left the Army hanging nor did they not provide help, when needed, to the USMC. I guess, for him right now, it's that all the military is wonderment and should be as one. I guess he didn't know a good BS session when it was right in front of him. We dog the Army and Navy, they give us a ribbin' back and we all dog the Air Force. Just the way it is. Come war time, we're there for each other. I don't see it any other way. I posed this in the chat. That near every Marine wanted to go back into Mogadishu and take care of business after what happened to that Army Ranger. And, to this day, I think we should have.
Sorry, guess I'm rantin' a little more than bonse. It's his tirade, I'll let him continue on. LOL
Sparrowhawk, a bit nippy? In SoCal? LOL. Must be what... all of about 70 degrees? LOL. Give me a call when it gets cold!
This is my weekend. Had a couple extra days off - Sat and Sun. Now I still got Mon and Tue left. It's good to be a state employee! Gotta clean out the van, now that I went and put the stereo and speakers in it. Need to mow the lawn. Wife has another Dr. appointment today. Nothing really goin' wrong, just it ain't all goin' right.
Y'all have a great and wonderful day, hope the week turns out as good. Semper Fi!

Coffee's on......pour yourself one.......and I don't want to hear anyone complaining it's not as good as bones.....He still didn't teach me all his little secrets yet......LOL....
Where the Hell are you bones......that will be 20 push-ups now....
Well it's a nice day here,....not fall weather yet, still summer, but at least not hot........I can handle this type of weather.....
They say there is rain on the way....but they keep telling us that....and we only get a little trickle.....LOL...I'm starting not to believe them weather people again.....LOL.....
Well I was looking out my window at the trees we have, maple oak..etc....and I still see no change in the color of our leaves....By now we are starting to see, the leaves going to yellow, red, brown and fall off the trees....That is a sure sign our fall is coming...Hell I don't even see our squirrels running around hiding there damn peanuts, which I always find in the garden and flower beds....LOL...
I do believe most of us have been having unusal weather this year...hot and dry....So now that is making me wonder how our winter is going to be....
Well I do hope it will be easy on us, because I hate this damn cold and snowy winters.....
All have a good day..........

For many of you it's afternoon coffee by now! Well, Mornin' folks! Damn puter went ape **** on me! Go ahead and laugh! It wasn't you! Coffee's on! Get some.
Drifter emailed me and asked me not to critize his coffee. Guess I been hurtin' his SNCO feelin's huh! LOL! Then turned around and told me to give him twenty! OK, Roger, just as soon as I get back from gettin' that flight of birds ready fer that mission! Workin' in hydraulics, that might take all day! By the time ya get one flight ready, ya gotta start on the next one! ( In the Wing, they always fergot about the pushups after a hour or so!)
I was thinkin' about respect last night. Alright, alright, I'll do the bloody pushups!....................................
There! Are ya happy now!
Had a FNG wannabe tryin' to tell us how it is ...AGAIN! LMAO. If it wasn't so aggravatin' it'd be damn near cute! I had trouble gettin' to sleep over it. I was far from being a poster Marine, but I had respect for my superiors and for my elders and I knew enough to be respectful of folks with more experience than I had. Even when I "knew" they were wrong. From what I've seen the last few years out in the burg and more recently, around the internet, a lot of younger folks aren't learnin' this
I get concerned, for these folks'll be votin' in a few years or already are votin'!
I get concerned for some of these folks'll be defendin' my country.
I get concerned, for some of the FNG's don't seem to want to listen. In their ignorance, they know it all or they don't care to know any more!
Somebody out there ain't doin' it better today. Somebody out there don't care to get it right!
It's a new day folks! Let's se if we can get them to start payin' attention!
Coffee's still on! LOL. It's time fer a coffe break! Join me when ya get a minute!

my take on the reason the society of the new generation iz what it iz...cuz of affirmative action, quotas for dumb-ass unqualified minorities, the spare the whip routine Americans have been forced to adhere too. Welfare to almost any friggin ass-hole that wants it, citizen or not and here In Michigan we have Quite a lot of people/families that have been on welfare for 4/FOUR generations and they ALL FAT and happy, never worked a day in their life. Start Makin these maggots pay for their play Like WE have too. I don't cut nun the muthers NO slack. I speak my Mind and **** off all the freeloaders. and the ignorant idiots also.
Semper Fidelis to the Corps the only sanctuary I have from the reality on the Civilian scum. and sum the Marines I have seen need a attitude adjustment also.
GOOD friggin Morning !!

*pours a cup* ahhhhh lifer juice. Yah, speakin of kids and such - I stop into the bar and have a beer with Ken - my Korean Marine Vet bro yesterday. Nuttin exciting, just shootin the breeze..... this yutz doin homework sez ' hey can ya pass me the remote' (sports bar - like 25 TV's in the joiint).... I slide it down. Ken and I talk for a few, I have things to do, andso does he, and we part our ways....
I get back to the bar about 3 hours later...... this idiot is still doing homework, only he's got some MTV homeyball or some sh!t just freekin blarin' on the TV. I walk in and grab the remote and turn the channel and turn the sound off- and promptly say ' we come here to drink and socialize with our friends - not watch TV. You wanna watch that sh!t, watch it at home'. This idiot gets all redfaced, huffs and puffs and throws his papers around and I hear him mumblin somthing under his breath. I say nothing ( he's a social idiot to begin with) and he walks out the door *****ing. Everyone else in the bar (including the bartender) says ' thanks - we were trying to figure out what to do about that guy'. Then another buddy of mine comes in, and apparently this idiot is walkin around my truck - he stops him and says... ' what you doing boy - I wouldn't be f!ckin around with that truck cause he will kick your ass, and I have his Nextel 2 way number right here'.
From what the bartender says - i guess this guy does this on a regular basis - and nobody knows what to do about it? Well, who runs the freekin place? Don't give out the remotes? Fer focks sake. What are they - SCARED? Take some initiative - it isn't that hard to figure out. The guy is too afraid of being his own culture - he wants to be something else other than what he is. How can you be fearful of someone who doesn't even know what they are to begin with? And, what happened to asking people to leave?
Maybe I will take Dixie (the Manager, who's on vacation) up on the bouncer job offer this winter LMAO.
I'll get some stuff squared away around there. It'll cost them tho..... Man, I thought this was coffee? lol
Yawl have a great day!!

Coffee's good. Ben getting my work-out room all set up, didn't get a chance to sign up for that free month exercise at 24 hour fitness, yet. Have the coupon around here someplace. Heck might get my exercise just looking for the thing. Did enough exercise this past week moving al those boxes out of storage for my daughter's.
Wm's and Marines will always be at it for some reason, guess its tradition, or a love hate relationship.
Some women you just have to kiss once or twice before they likes you. Others just irritate you, and remind you of an ex-wife then nothing can be done about that relationship no matter what. LOL
I always looked at a woman with suspicion, knowing they wanted something from me, dummy that I was, I didn't realize it for along time till a woman showed me that they wanted the same thing I did, but just want about it differently.
Well dropped off my daughter at the trains station already, everyone gone today so I might get some work done around here.
