HII!! well since everyone in here is going to leave to bootcamp soon I just decided to copy dep_baumy's thread and start a new one involving piktures.... And since i'm the starter I'll post mine up first.. :) enjoy...

oh yeah man, there were so many times that the Drill Instructores would say, or do something that was soo funny that you had to literally bite your lips to keep from busting out, and alot of time you busted out anyway... so we had the honor of getting to IT for losing our bearing, but it was still great fun...

Yeah...just hearing about how some DI's referred to PT in the squad bay as "Sergeant Paterson's Disco" sounds hilarious. I also found it funny that when I asked my buddy who recently graduated from recruit training about how DI's are supposedly not supposed to swear anymore, he replied "the art of swearing is alive and well on Parris Island, trust me." The thought of a DI not cussing out recruits just doesn't sound right.

Drill Instructors not swearing!!!! abviously my Drill Instructors never got that breif!! lololol, shoot you'll find out about that soon enough... boot camp is hard, and you'll want to quit, and all that good trash, but you need to remember that as long as you move fast, and sound off, and do what your told, it'll be over in 3 months, and then you'll be a Marine, and now that I look back on it, it flew by super fast.

That isn't true. There were times I may have wished I was dead, but I never wanted to quit. It simply isn't an option to EVER quit for some of us.

I really HATE to have to reread something several times to try and figure out what the new cool way to spell a simple word is this week.

I don't like to argue on this subject because I have once argued with it before and I think it's just useless to me to argue about this... But the thing about the whole spelling and grammer issue is the fact sometimes people get accustomed or they were brought up in a way that made them say or do things a certain way. It's like a bad habit that they can never seem to get out of. As for me I wasn't from English descent so I was brought up and I spoke a different language before I even learn how to speak English. I always had an issue with grammer in school and spelling sure wasn't my thing. I guess that because I first learn how to speak, read, and write in a different language other than that of the English language made me assimilate the two cultures in together and as a result makes me write in this manner. But I would like to apologize to those who does not understand my writing.... I'm just use to writing it and spelling it a certain way and sometimes it comes out unconsciously..

The fact that you decided to mix in the upper and lower cases is the tell-tell sign that you were doing it because that is the "cool" thing to do. And really, if you want to type like that, you have that option. It just happens to get on my nerves, its a small pet peave of mine. There are times when doing that is proper for you. I just happen to think that on a site such as this one should make every attempt to be professional since it is run for and by professionals that allow those outside of their community to participate. You may not agree with me, and that is fine. Some here know that I don't always agree with them. Thing is, it doesn't matter what I think about the way they run the board, it is theirs. It doesn't matter what I think about the way you chose to type the topic title, it isn't my site. However, it doesn't change the way I feel about it.
Oh I see where you are getting at. I'm sorry.. I did that unconsciously and didn't take it into consideration... I don't even know why myself but it does get on alot of people's nerve.. especially my teachers.. To think about it, I totally agree with what you said. This assclown gets on here and starts coming up with a dozen or so putdowns for Angel's pictures she posted of herself. He said nothing productive, just a bunch of put downs.
He claims he's Capt Foster, but he posted under Poolee 2ndplacesucks account "because he doesn't feel like getting his own"
He mentions something about his hashmarks, so I doubt it was a real officer. (Officers don't wear hashmarks, young poolees - only enlisted personnel wear them)
2ndplacesucks should be shipping to boot camp this Monday the 28th.
All in all - it sounded like a 9th grader with nothing better to do than to get on here and post "your momma" type jokes.
It's Monday, June 28, 2004 - 0810 Central Time and I see 2ndplacesucks is viewing this thread. Now according to Brian (2ndplacesucks) he should be in boot camp right now.

An officer with hash marks? WTF? That's some BS! Can you say LIAR? As Sgt. Enviro said up above...only enlisted USMC personnel wear hash marks. Not officers!
P.S. About the comment mucho made about everyone wants to quit. That wasn't true for me. I never once thought about quiting or giving up during boot camp. They would have had to kill me before I gave up my right to becoming a United States Marine. I'd rather be dead then to say I didn't give it my all and I'm not a US Marine. Just wasn't something I even thought about...not one time!

well shoot, my bad, obliously not everyone wants to quit, and to be honest, "wanting to quit" is the wrong phrase, it was more like it took awhile to get motivated.
but once you do get your motivation (if you dont have it right off the bat) freakin boot gets alot easier mentally. so my advice for all the poolee's out there would be to constatly think about why you joined, and stay motivated! 3 months isnt that long, and once you graduate, its way worth it!!
I'm here at the USO in San Diego about to go to pendleton for MCT, that ought to be fun..

I would assume you get the digital cammies as soon as you get there. It would be stupid to issue you the old uniforms and then give you the new ones. But, you will wait for the name. It is an honor to wear the uniform of a Marine, so you will have to wait for your uniform to resemble that of a Marine. Of course, until you are a Marine no uniform in the world will make you resemble one too much.

After further re-evaluation, I find that humor is something that something to never be taken for granted. I have grown up way more than I ever wanted to grow up.
I have also contributed much to the poolees around here and feel that this subject is worthless to try and explain to a couple of kids fighting over who's better looking and who's not.
Censorship is not something I appreciate nor do I deserve. I have done my time like many others around here to preserve freedom of expression. I saw nothing uncalled for in my humorous picture. If anyone were to be offended, I suggest you not look too far in these boards, for there is far worse.
I'm not trying to correct myself or any of this but I just wanted to apologize for everything because I started this thread to see who's who in Leatherneck.. I didn't expect anyone to call me out onto a competition and it was uncalled for.. Seriously I do not like fighting about who looks better than who and I apologize again for any problems that this is causing..
