The Miami Herald had what might amount to a 3/4 page fill-up regarding Mejia. I believe this is because he has family down here. This week should be interesting.

This is insane. First it is oil driven, now he was forced to abuse prisoners. He is YELLOW and should be jailed for being a deserter. He and his panty waste lawyer are attemting to find a sympathy vote.

Isn't desertion during time of war still punishable by death?

Shouldn't he have applied for conscientious objector status BEFOR he joined the military or was it that he liked the benefits of being an AMERICAN-until he had to go to war to fight for the right to wear that uniform???? He has disgraced that uniform, his and our country and embarrassed his men. Men like him aren't fit to wear the uniform let alone command. I have no sympathy for cowards!

What kills me is he had to have been "in" for some time to be a staff NCO. Unless the Army just gives away rank. He knew he may have had to go to combat someday. He did not like seeing civilians getting killed. None of us do, but we never deserted.
