It's Tuesday morning and while the battles goes on with our warriors fighting for the freedom of others across the world, we have another beautiful day back here in the real world.

Sitting out on my porch, this morning doing some editing, for my editor. Heck I thought this was her job. LOL


She started to try and teach me some English grammar yesterday, can you believe that. I stopped her and said; Lady, I write you correct, that's why I am paying you. If I wanted to learn English structure, punctuation, and all that stuff, I wouldn't have hired you. She laughed and agreed.

Margarita comes in today to clean the house, six women, in this household and I still have to hire a cleaning lady to come in and clean the house at least once a week. Wait till she sees the mess I did in the kitchen, forgot to put the coffee pot under the coffee maker.
Hey, I cleaned it up, some. LOL


It's a beautiful day; having my cup of coffee and watching this humming bird zoom all around me, pesky fellow, just zoom and stays suspended in the air only a few inches away watching me, probably trying to figure out what a lap top is. LOl

As we used to say in Nam, back in the real world...

It's A Hot Humid Day here in Philly but it been that way for over a week.....Got up early in the morning when my oldest son goes to work...(That's 5:00 EST)....Don't sleep much....but I never did.....Roger could never keep up with me...Always needed his sleep....;)

Day didn't start out to good....other son comes running down, Mom take me to work....I shut my alarm off went back to sleep, and I'm going to be late for work....So you know what I had to do.....LOL...Tried to place in posts again when I got home.....Then youngest daughter comes running down....Did the same thing as her brother.....So back to Walmart...to take her to work.....(They both work there)....Tried again to place posts in again Now my computer decides to say...I'm too old and tired..Give me a break....Well I been telling my children to buy their new computer, that I will take theirs....Hey I'm paying for theirs..LOL...So at this time I'm running from two floors working with 2 computers.....LOL....All the info I need is on mine.....

Had to take a break in between...other daughter did the same as all the other two....At least I didn't have to see Walmart again.....LOL...Now you can see that their is one child that takes after me, and the rest take after their father......LOL
Nothing never changes.....LOL

Now Im going to sit a rest for a bit, and have some of my coffee in peace.....

No so sunny on this side of the state, Miss Ellie. Not as hurried as your morning, but the weather here in the Center of the Universe, Pittsburgh is ok. A little chill this morning based on the dampness, but nothing an 03 isn't used too. Finally got a nice night's sleep. My 3 1\2 year old son has been sick with a stomach flu this past week, and it was getting him up at night. My 15 month old daughter is getting up sometimes with him making it an even shorter (or should I say loooonger) night. God bless all of you Marines and Marine families both foreign and domestic.

Good After Nooooooooooooooon Marines from a damp and chilly Hammond, Indiana, thirty minutes from downtown Chicago.
There's a sea story behind Chicago and Hammond but it best be left back in time but Marines that went through boot camp in the late 40's and 50's possibly the 60's will know what I'm talking about.
It wasn't abuse because we all got the same treatment.
Just back from taking AJ to school again, was there at 0945 than back at 1200.
Tuesday's he goes to what is call "Storytime" for an hour.
Monday-Thursday's he goes to headstart.
I than go back at 1530 or 3:30 P.M to bring home or to his mother house, if she isn't working.
My youngest son, AJ dad works Monday-Friday, so that why grandpa is left to take AJ to school.
Several days a week I have to pickup Rose at 1445 or 2:45 P.M
Than at 1600 or 4:00 P.M, I'm off to the fitness center to workout.
Need the sauna and jacuzzi at the end of my workout and from having to do the above.
This cold dampness reminds me in ways of Vietnam during mansoon season, when we were wet all the time.
Few days of sunshine, if I remember correctly...

Would you believe that I don't drive.
Family was dirt poor and cars were hard to come by when I was growing up.
Later I drank too much, so it was lucky that I wasn't driving.
Now I'm too old.
The school is only a few blocks from my house.
Everybody else in my family drives but this old jarhead!
I do get around on my mountain bike!

Porn switched with high school's morning announcement

CHAMBLEE, Ga. - Some high school students expecting to see the usual morning announcements instead glimpsed a hard-core prank.

Chamblee High School administrators were trying to determine who swapped a pornographic videotape for the school announcements tape Tuesday, sending the images out to several classrooms.

"A couple of the classrooms - fortunately not all of them had it on - got a very inappropriate feed for a matter of some seconds before a teacher could fly up here and alert us," said assistant principal Becky Chambers.

One parent who complained characterized the tape as hard-core pornography, but Chambers said she didn't view the tape and couldn't confirm its contents. Administrators were watching security camera tapes to try to determine who made the switch.

Chambers said that with this being the last week of school, a senior prank "would be my best guess at this point."

My youngin' is now into braces and the latest and greatest MP3 players!

Today we had a local veterans meeting on how we are going to host the National meeting, in another four days! Everything is fine and dandy except that the VP of fundraising is suddenly in the middle of a two week drunk!

We can afford the banquet and transportation, but we don't know if we can afford real servers or a bagpipe player. Then our technical advisor, an old Colonel says, "Your're a Marine, you'll figure it out!"

Anyway that sums up 8 hours of meetings, except for the 6 rounds of beer in the 'after action' meetings. That part wasn't so bad. But the stress of letting down the unit was still there. :marine:

Got the sprinklers on, actually have one of those you have to move around the lawn. Put in the sprinklers last year, but enjoy watering by hand or seeing the little thing-a-magig swirl the water and spit it out. LOL

It's going to be in the high 70's around here.

Got one daughter off to the train station for her trip to work, one is turning 19 today, another 22 in a week so they like to celebrate for two weeks straight. LOL

Taking them out to dinner tonight to celebrate, then this week end they are throwing a combined birthday party, a sort of a costume party so they invited their friend to dress differently, some of their friends they told it was a Hawaiian theme and to others a pirate theme party.

I told my in-laws to dress in the style of the sixties and when they get here are they gona be surprised. But without telling them, I’ll just tell everyone else attending, that’s the way they normally dress...

Good Morning Marines

Cloudy and Foggy at this moment....The sunny should be out later this morning.....At least it won't be as hot and humid that it has been for the last week or so.......

Finally broke down last night and ordered Roger's bronze plaque...for the grave......The children wanted to be involved with designing it with me....So we finally decided on one....It will have the Marine Emblem in the Center.....2 Roses on the sides...It will show his Rank, and the saying Devoted Dad and Beloved Husband....They said it should be done by late Summer.....It took a lot of strength for me to do it....To me it is the finally closer which I have to do.... I do think Roger would approve of this....His main motto in Life was God, Family, Corps.... in whatever order came first......

The children ordered the computer finally...it should be here in about 2 weeks....Which means I will get the old one(only a year old).....I don't need all the things that they use....and if I do want to....All I have to do is borrow one of theirs......I think it is about time to get something from them after all these years.....LOL

Had two, count them two Twinkies this morning and two cups of coffee.

Sitting on the porch, using my laptop to write, I can see I need to get a new flag this ones getting a little faded.

Neighbors gone to Hawaii, the two across the street are off to work, the red hair lady hasn't gone to work yet. Her husband plays gulf on Thursday, is I expect him to get going anytime.

Invited them all over this Saturday for my daughter(s) birthday party, you all invited, just bring your own drinks, food, and stay to help clean up the kitchen.

Humm, anyone out there that can cook Carne Asada?


This is getting out of hand. We got people coming over in pirates , 60's, and Hawaiian costumes and we're cooking Mexican food.

Own a few cats in my life but after awhile I found out the had me trained. Feed them at a certain time, let them out when they wanted, but they always brought their scavenger hunt trophies home to proudly be acknowledged for their deeds.

Never could train the last one I had to go get the paper or my slippers, each time I tried to do that, they would just look at me, like, hey, that's not my job.



There's no truth to that story about me and cats, that you may find posted here. None what so ever.


I do miss my two dogs I had for awhile, Boots and Windy, good watch dogs, they would take turns at night being on watch, all night long.

Sunflowers gone grazy, never planted them, and they are growing all over the place. I think that no good neighbor of mine that keep giving me beer came up and planted them in my yard when I wasn't looking.

Neighbors love them, been giving them away as center pieces.

Been running around...all morning doing my friday ritual...Get Money, Spend Money.....LOL...and No I don't like shopping....I just have to go to get the food that somehow disappears in my house......LOL...Just like the gas....Had to fill up and thought it was my food bill.....;)

Cloudy day here, but the humidy is coming back.....I guess it is better not to have the sun come out today....All it is going to do is get hotter out....and I don't want that yet...Don't want to put on the air yet.....I just get tired of high bills all the time.....

The men at Roger's old work place and my son...are going to put a 200 amp curcuit box and breakers in my house tomorrow....Roger was going to do it this spring, so the men decided to treat me...and do it for me.....All I have to do is supply some food and drink.....Now I can't pass this up.....

It's going to be a HOT HUMID day here......mid 90's....and summer even isn't here yet.....

Got the new circuit box placed in yesterday...I have Power again....Plenty of room now for the future......Since I had not power I decided to go out and do some gardening....It was hot but I haven't gotten to it yet this year.....I'm a little slow this year and my oldest son sounded off to me....It's about time mom.....I just love kids....;) :D......

I see Cook running around here this morning, so I guess he was safe from yesterday's birthday party....for his daughters....I was waiting to hear that he was the main event...."Cook got Roasted at House Party"...... LOL...

Planning on going out and looking for a TV.....Need another one since one is going bad in the house....the children are trying to convince me we need a 55 inch one....Since I'm getting old and can't see as good as I use too....LOL.....

The weather in this part of South Florida is projected to be in the 80's. After spraying the entire inside and outside of the house this week, the bugs have seemed to take a holiday (on their backs) Now the clean up begins. LOL I'm still trying to figure out why I have to cut the grass when the grass isn't growing? Maybe my eyesight is getting bad.

My kids must be growing up, it was a nice birthday party for my two daughters, even had one of my sons show up.

That is until I woke up this morning and my youngest daughter and her friends had teepeed the neighbors house, two of them. Wait til they get up I'm sending her and her friends over to clean the neighbors house. Can't believe they are in college and they are still doing theings like that. Neighbor across the street came out, looked at the mess and said;

"Well, if that's the worst tehy do, we ahve a lot to be thankful for."



The party gave me an excuse for buying a new patio set as well as a new BarBQ.

Now, I'm set for summer.

Well better go get on my Sunday-go-to-meeting clothes on and repend of all my evil deeds, maybe get a head start repenting for what I will probably do this coming week, maybe that's why they call Sunday, the first day of the week. So that we can start it off right.

We are getting a break in our tempertures today only going to be around 84.....and least humidity....Now these are the temptures I like.....The last few days were to hot for spring weather......

Have been having internet server problems for the past 3 weeks.....All tests have been saying everything was fine, but for some reason....we could not get on and stay on.....Finally the sent out the tech to look into the matter...(Only Reason hitting into their pocket(Free Internet for 2 months))...Found out even though the tests say everything is alright, the tech saw that our modem was losing power....Well getting a new one soon....The fine art of technology.....LOL...

Well my children talked me into buying a new TV....Receiving it today, Sony 60 in. wide screen LCD Projection TV.....They didn't like the 50 in...so the put in the extra money to get the 60 in....I don't go out much, so they wanted me to see the movies, like the theater....LOL.......My children are always thinking of me.....;)

Well need to do a little more things around the house.....

Fixed up Freddy's (the cat) grave this morning.

Putting down wood chips in the gardens.

Had a real nice weekend on Long Beach Island (NJ) Fri, Sat, Sun.
Did 15 miles on the bike on Sat.
Walked around alot on the beach.
Ate, slept and ate some more.
Got together with my friend Sharon on Sat night for dinner.

Have not seen or heard one 17 year cicada yet.

Pittsburgh, PA looking good. Hot this past weekend, really hot. Got the fence done. Just need to finish painting it, but all the "work" is done. Painting is the fun part. (I liked the whole project!) No cicadas yet, thank God. Not as hot this Fine Tuesday. Only about 75 or so. SGTED, we just adopted (kinda) a stray cat. Named him Vic. All black young thing. Plus we found a rabbits nest under my bushes. Animal central.

Received my TV the other day.....it didn't look that big in the store....:eek:

Received from the White House...a Presidential Memorial Certificate...in the memory of Roger for Serving in the Armed Forces......When I read it...my walls came crashing down again.....I was glad my daughter was home......

Not much going on this Memorial Day weekend....Heart isn't into it....Will be going to my brother's Sat...for BBQ...and having our own on Monday.....Will visit Roger's grave to place down the wreath I bought....His flag is already on the grave.....made sure the cementary put one on.....

House already has the Flags up.....I never taken down the Marine Corps flag....just have to get the POW flag up.....Next on my list.....
