Deep Thoughts.
I don't believe that one size fits all.
I don't believe in one 'right' answer. Even the most dogmatic will stutter if you respond, "Yes, but what if......?
Sometimes death is the easy way out for those who can't face the consequences of living.
A philosopher made history because he said, "I THINK, therefore, I AM." I disagree. I THINK, therefore I THINK I am.
When we disagree with the actions of others, and say, "He should have ...." or "I would have ...." I think in truth, what we are saying is, I hope I would be the kind of person who would ....". Because we never KNOW.
And when I answer myself and point out that I DID act in a particular way before, a little voice speaks up and asks, "Yes, but can you guarantee the NEXT time?"
A man can never stand in the SAME river twice. (Both he and it were changed during the first encounter.)
I believe that situational ethics modifies performance. Some will ask, "is anyone watching?" before they do something. We should ask, "Is anyone counting on, relying on, or depending upon me?" before we take the 'right' course of action.
Never criticize someone until you walk a mile in his shoes. THEN, when you turn around to give him the finger, he is a mile away and barefoot.
As good as you are, and as bad as I am, as bad as I am is as good as you are. But, as good as you are, and as bad as I am, I'm as good as you are, bad as I am. (I think.)
