Update: Marines in Iraq, Spirit of America news
The 1st Marine Division is now in Iraq and completing the transition from Army forces. The Marines Spirit of America has been working with are based mainly in Ramadi. For those familiar with Iraq geography this is near Fallujah in the "Sunni Triangle" area.
The six containers of goods - Frisbees, school supplies and medical supplies - donated by Spirit of America have arrived in Iraq and are there way to field commanders who will be distributing the goods. As a reminder, you can read about these donated goods here:

At the bottom of this email is a letter of thanks to Spirit of America donors that we received from the Commanding General of the 1st Marine Division - Major General Jim Mattis (excluded from thread). In it he says, "your gifts will reduce adversarial relationships and bridge cultural gaps. You have significantly impacted our ability to do good and, I fervently hope reduce the potential for combat." You can also read the entire letter here:

With our support of the 1st Marine Division, Special Forces in Afghanistan and the America-Iraq School Partners program there will be lots of news in the next two months and we'll be in touch more regularly.
