Spain Decides to Run Away

The election in Spain that turned the government over to the Socialists last weekend sent a clear message to al Qaeda. Their bombing worked.



Reportedly, much of the population did not want to join the U.S.-led coalition to impose regime change on Iraq. Now they have decided to sit on the sidelines of the global Jihad, but they will learn some very harsh lessons in the process.



As far as the Jihadists are concerned, any show of weakness is always an invitation to attack again. Moreover, on March 11, an al Qaeda dispatch published in the Arabic newspaper, Al-Quds Hafs al-Masri, crowed about having penetrated “one of the pillars of the crusade alliance, Spain.”



“This is part of settling old accounts with Spain, the crusader, and America’s ally in its war against Islam,” said the al Qaeda dispatch that took credit for the bombings.



Al Qaeda is always referencing the “Crusade” because they know that the true believers among them, an estimated hundred million out of the more than one billion worldwide, regard the Crusades as a dark period of retreat from the Holy Land. It wasn’t until 1187 AD that Saladin was able to recapture Jerusalem. The last of the Crusaders were defeated in 1291 AD at Acre.



Simply stated, one of the goals of the Jihad is to reclaim Spain for Islam. Europe, too.



In 711 AD, Muslims invaded Spain and established Islam there after having taken over all of northern Africa. They would remain in Spain for seven centuries until driven out by El Cid. An effort in 732 AD to invade France was defeated at Poitiers, halting their northward expansion into Europe. However, it would take until 1492 before Christians captured Grenada, the last Muslim stronghold in Spain.



Reportedly, after the bombings in Madrid, the French either contemplated or actually did close their border with Spain. Either way, the fact remains that there are over five million Muslims in France and they are second-class citizens there. All of Europe is in for a period of terrorist attacks and, when the tourism drops off, their already weak economies will begin to tank.



By showing the white flag of defeat, the people of Spain may think they have bought some time for themselves and that the Jihad’s show of power will end, but they simply do not understand the radical Islamic mindset.



For more than fifty years, every time the Israelis have offered any steps toward a peaceful resolution with the Palestinians, they are attacked. Despite having been repeatedly defeated in five wars, the Arab terror war continues unabated. One would think Spain and all of Europe would have learned something from that, but instead of identifying the real enemy, Europe continues to condemn the Israelis for wanting to live in their ancient homeland.



The memories of the Jihadists go back centuries. They see themselves as a vanguard of a new holy war to spread Islam. Spain is just the first stop on the conversion of Europe and America is now just a little more isolated in its effort to confront this enemy.



The al Qaeda dispatch taunted the premier of Spain whose party has been defeated. “Aznar, where is America? Who will protect you, Britain, Japan, Italy and others from us?”



If, in November, America rejects the policy of confronting the Jihad in the Middle East where it is brewed, life is going to become quite grim here. Like the Spanish did on Sunday, we will have signaled retreat and defeat.

We shouldn't grieve too much.
The Spanish are pretty close to the French in the W-L column for wars won.
It's not the people, it's mindset in Europe.
Spanish-Americans fight just as well as the rest of us.

One more comment:
The Spaniards are the same people who drove the Moors out of their country over some 700 years. They must have forgotten that or lost the toughness that made them great at one time.

Some Spaniards have succumbed to the same disease found here, Socialist Expectations Syndrome. Symptoms include a bleeding heart, jello knees and spine, loud whining complaints, belief government should run everything, and a "Give 'em what they want then they'll go away." outlook on personal security. It infects our closest friends, and restricts our rights by handing over to government what was once considered personal responsibility.

The Spaniards of today have little memory of the fighting back in the early 20th century, when communists and republicans fought for political control of Spain. Except for national separatist factions, Spain has not been involved in any combat situations since the late 1930s. The new Spaniards only want the good life, without the sacrifice necessary to retain that good life.

Radical Islam should be studied carefully, to note that it has no room for other beliefs under its influence. The Taliban regime in Afghanistan was an operational Islamic govenment. The Islamic Sharia (religious rulings), is the standard by which Islamic countries rule those in their boundaries.

In such an Islamic nation, you MUST be Muslim in order to be "free", and participate fully in all aspects of life! If you belong to a different religion, or have no religious belief at all, you are an "Infidel" or unbeliever, and are "tolerated" only as long as you accept your second class citizenship and the oversight of Islamic law in all aspects of your existence.

In the news recently, there was an incident in Egypt, where two Christians were killed because a Muslim, who was riding his donkey down the street or road, had his animal slip on the roadway. It happened in front of the house of the Christians. He, in a righteous snit, killed the owners of the house. He WAS NOT ARRESTED, because of Islamic law. Is this what the people of Spain want to live under? It will be the end result if the Muslim terrorists have their way.

The Islamic world has always considered Spain as its territory, taken by infidels, and a prize to be re-won by future believers. Do the Spanish people think it will stop because they became socialists? If they do, then they are deluded. They are viewed as tresspassers on Islamic holy ground. It is part of the intent of Islam to conquer the entire planet, putting all under the banner of Allah.

I won't live to see that day, because I will die fighting against it. For such a victory to become reality would require the death of the United States of America, the Republic for which we stand. I swore an undated oath to defend this land. I will honor my oath.
