I am an up and coming active duty marine and I was just wondering if anybody knew where i could buy actual marine corps gear, such as the new daypacks and other things, other than a surplus store. Any help would be great.

What is an up and coming active duty Marine....
You either are a Marine or you're not.

if you live in oceanside, go to this website: http://store.tacticalassaultgear.com/info.html

as you will see it's just under a mile of the main gates. i've been there myself and they have everything you can possibly need. up and coming active duty? make sure your a Marine before you go in..... they love your money.....
right there is another store across the street from this one, i'll find out the address and send it along. you can also order from both these stores and they will custom fit your gear for you. not a bad deal i plan on going down there in a few days to buy myself a new patrol pack.

heres another store you may go to and either order gear or just go straight to the store, if you live near oceanside or in the southern california region. www.botach.com. about a mile from the main gates. small, but great store.

Well first of all I won't trust anyone with the name of kokane(cocaine). If you want information get it for yourself and not from real Marines. You are either a Marine or you're not. Do not abuse our graciousness towards members of our family. You would know to find out from the Marines you are working with who have been around awhile to get the best information.

Good call, SgtDvlDog3.

I was about to put in some info, until I read your post. That screen name does semm pretty unworthy of a real Marine.

( yeah, I know mine is silly, but hey! I grew up in the 70's, and love star wars, so sue me.)

Waiting on someone to answer about 'Siagon Sam's'. Last I heard the whole town of J'ville had a make over.

Used to be a place at the end of Court St. by the bridge, had a lighthouse out side. Was called 'The Castaway', was run by 'Buffalo'. Drowned many a brain cell in there with some Bro's. Was within stumbling distance to the bus station

But, that was a quarter of a century ago (Fk I'm old !!!) in '79

SgtDvlDog3, you nail it right...no Marine worth his or her salts would ever spell Marines or Marine Corps without captializing the "m".
Than why would he or she need to buy gear.
Make one wonder...

Kokane or is it cocaine,

That name is inappropriate for this site. You should change it before ever posting on this site again. We are a special breed, a cut above the rest. If you want to keep that name then you should think about posting on an other site and joining another branch of the military.

Mrbsox,

As for Saigon Sam's, yes, it is still there as of 1997 serving us proudly.

Saigon Sams has been gone for awhile now...The original one that is. Lost due to the widening of Hwy 17. There's still Saigon Sams II on Western Blvd.
As for Court St...thing of the past, mrbsox! I was lucky (unlucky) enough to catch the last gasp of that gut in the late 80's. Blew many a paycheck there while I was a Geiger Tiger buying watered down :Lady Drinks"!
