When in doubt check the guidebook.

To be stamped in the center of the bottom side... or at least that is what the BST tells me.

I'll have to second Dragon Air and Echo_Four_Bravo. What it says in the guidebook is in the center of the bottom side.

Also, rare was the seabag I saw that didn't have it's owner's name stenciled across the outside also. Nobody wanted their gear to get lost!

I just graduated boot camp 3 months ago (3rd Bn. Mike Co. Plt. 3025, MCRD San Diego) and the seabag is to be stamped in the center on the bottom. At least thats how my Senior told us.

Stamped in the center bottom. But, how many of us Stencil the sides in 2" letters then on the other side with a sharpie write down all the countries that the seabag has been toted to?

Stamped in the center on the bottom of the bag with black ink from a marking kit. At least thats how we did it.

Our Drill Instructors told us to stamp it according to regulation, which is ont he botom of the seabag in the center, but when I got to the fleet I was told to wirte my name on the inside of the carrying handles aswell, theat way if the marking did rub off before you coulde remark it, if someone tried to steal it it would have your name in three other possisions. But I think that was just my company

Leroy, I had a couple of the BIG sea bags done exactly as you stated. However for "inspection purposes" we had to have one with just the required marking. Of course, once I discovered that "two sea bags" meant bags of any size I went and got the large ones, cleaned my issued one, folded it, and never touched it again until I hit terminal leave.
