Is it Pop? Soda? or Coke?

I don't know if anyone has seen this, I just found it myself, but there has been an ongoing, 8 year survey by Caltech to see who says pop, soda, or coke, and where they say it. Its part of a linguisitcs survey. Here's how it looks nationwide.

soda = Any of various forms of sodium carbonate.
pop = To burst open with a short, sharp, explosive sound.
coke = A trademark used for a soft drink.and a drug
other = Different from that or those implied.
cola = A carbonated soft drink containing an extract of the cola nut and other flavorings.
yet another diversification in our society.. Language..Ya would think $$$ could be spent on more beneficial information to the education of our society. But what more can ya expect from the diversified, multi-national, multi-sex society of our most liberal State..
wonder if they have done a survey of who pees in the Ocean.

Pepsi
A&W Root Beer
Dr Pepper

Mountain Dew
etc.........

Soda here. But maybe I shouldn't be postin'! LOL. Shaffer says it don't count if I don't post but one liners....maybe I need to post a thread on a poll for that. Don't have the cash for a nation-wide survey. I wonder if I could get a grant for that.......

Its soda where I come from, kinda frustrates me at work when somebody asks for coke and when i get them coke they're like, I didnt want coke I wanted {insert soda name}. I dunno, just my opinion.
