Did anyone see The Commandant's Own and the Silent Drill Platoon last Saturday at MCRD San Diego???
Oh my goodness! It was amazing!
Is there anyone on this board that has ever played with the Marine Band? Whether it be The President's Own or the regular Marine Concert, jazz, marching, etc. band.
I was at 8th and I for 5 years!!! Had the time of my life. Was also on Drill Team.

Aww Sgtj that's awesome! You guys are soooo clean it's amazing. After I graduate from bootcamp this summer, I'm making my dad go on a week or so tour with me of the east coast. We HAVE to hit The Sunset Parade.
Did you always perform the same show or did it change often?
What's the difference between the Evening Parade and The Sunset Parade?
"Uncommon Valor was a Common Virtue"
The Sunset Parade is a lot shorter then the Evening Parade and less waiting around for the crowds.
The parads are pretty much the same and has been that way since the mid 50's. Yes that long ago. Both are a great thing to see, although I've never seen one from the other side of the Parade deck. I would recommend going to the Sunset Parade. Its at the Iwo Jima memorial and its just an amazing thing to see. There wasn't a parade in all my time there that I didnt' get chills when marching from around the monument and seeing the crowd in awww.
Good luck
