the 1st Engr. Bn, in Korea 1954/1955 time frame?

You could try the Marine Corps Historical Museum. I believe you can reach it thourgh the "official Marine Corps website":

In the left hand column of the home page, you will see a category for History and Museums. Another choice would be the Heritage Center. That should get you started to where you can find out or possibly even order publications with the info you seek.
