He is there on the Bears sideline during the playing of the national anthem, a little straighter than most, seemingly a bit prouder.

It could be Mike Sweatman's background as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps or his 26 years in the Marine Corps Reserve, where he retired as a lieutenant colonel.

Or it could be that the Bears special-teams coach can't help but be thinking of his sons, Tom, Chris and Dan, all three of whom serve in the U.S. military.

As the thoughts of Americans focus Wednesday on the horrible events of a year ago, Mike and Teri Sweatman will be doing the same. But like the families of all of those in the military, the Sweatmans have some different emotions working as well.
