When I enlisted I signed up for infantry, now I wanna change it to MP. I was wondering if I could still change my MOS? And as well i was wondering which MOS would some of you prefer?
Hi devildog_13,
With my current knowledge, I believe you can change your MOS. See your recruiter for more information. As for myself, I'm planning on going Aviation Electronics. Most of the people here were infantry or are going infantry. From what I've read... most. But I suggest not going on what others want, and doing what your heart wants to do.

Not if you already signed your contract. And your really going to **** your recruiter off. Besides being in the Infantry is better for you, when in the Infantry you can lat move after so long to be an MP, but if you go to be an MP then the only way you would be able to get an Infantry billet would be to join Recon. Besides almost every base you go to, all those guards at the main gate and some on cruiser patrol are Infantry Marines fap'ed out to PMO anyway, so I suggest you go Infantry, there's no better place in the world to be.

I thought about Security Forces but how would i go about doing Security Forces. What would my Primary MOS have to be is it like a secondary MOS of Infantry or Military Police or what.

you have to be an infantry mos to get security forces then you have to be selected

Bn Recon, USMC: 3 months boot camp, 8 weeks school of infantry, 10 weeks
Amphibious Reconnaisse Course, 3 weks jump school, ~6 weeks dive school
(can't remember exactly) Throw in some waiting around time there, between
schools, waiting for school seats, and you have: about a year or so.

You can enlist with security forces in your contract. You will go to boot camp, SOI, and then to Security Forces school. You will spend two years being on Security Forces (or Barracks duty as it is often called) and then rotate back to the Fleet Marine Forces (FMF) and spend the last 18 months or so of your contract being an infantry Marine. But then, infantry guys can get FAPs (Fleet Assistance Program) assignments to the MPs, but if you're an MP, you won't be going to the infantry.
