Wanting To Join The Marines.

I am a 22 year old male and I am very interested in joining the Marines but I have a problem I don't have a diploma. I am in the process of getting a GED now and hopefully by next month I'll have it if everything goes as planned. Now I know there are only so many slots available to those of us that have a GED, so what I want to know is anything that would give me a better shot at getting one of those slots. I would like to know what they are looking for so when I go to my recruiter I can give myself a better shot at being one of the Few that get in! I appreciate any help you can give me!

Thanks for the help drifter but now I have another question about what I read. Is earning the college credits enough or do I need the GED as well. If the credits alone are better then getting a GED that's the way I'll go.

hey just letting u know it can take usually 6 to 8 weeks to get ur ged( ive got mine)........so if ur planin on going right away u may have another 2 months to wait.....

I think you need the GED, I know a couple guys that made it in up here with them. You should probably just go talk to a recuiter.

My advise to you get your GED....Not for the Marine Corps....but for Yourself...Stay Focus....It's your First Step accomplishing Your Goal......
Talk to the Recruiter....

Remember Earning the College Credits...is an added Bonus in Your Life.....

i said i got my ged but right now im in my first semester of college (granted the reason i got my ged isnt the same as most people but all in all i got it)
