Went to the pistol range today. My targets looked like I'd taken s**t, put it in a sock with a hole in it, and swung it in a continuous circle. Yeppers, its Friday the 13th.

I do recall we were superstitious of some flak vests in Nam. The ones with holes and dark stains on them. One vest I saw, had the copper jacketed projectile fused into the ballistic cloth collar. It belonged to one of my men, and he had originally gotten it with big blood stains on it. He was the one who was hit by the bullet fused to the collar. Call it superstition, but guys just nodded and said "See, ...I told ya." when they saw what happened. I've always wondered what the next man issued that jacket thought when he saw the damage.
