Get one thing clear, IF you do get injured make damn sure that you tell your DI. You won't live to regret it if you don't. His ass is on the line taking care of a bunch of wet behind the ears kids, you screw up and it's his ass as much as your. Don't get on his bad side if you want to finish Basic.
As for ash, who give a sh!t if she is a girl or not, I liked my first poster. LOL

The "Rose Garden" poster is the best recruiting poster of all time!!!! If a picture is worth a thousand words, that one in Rose Garden is a novel!!!

I don't know why the Rose Garden poster isn't still used by the Marine Corps in a major way. The first time I saw it I was awe struck, and I was ALREADY a Marine. No reason today's younger generation shouldn't be seeing that image everywhere they turn.

Rose Garden's message is still effective today. The idea is we make you no promises, we don't sugar coat the training to become a Marine. The point is it is tough and it's not all roses. Even as a recruiter I kept a copy of this poster in my office and framed for all to see. It was a stark contract to the Army and Navy signs and posters that offered $30,000 or $50,000 for college or the specific job skill training etc. It is a very direct and honest slogan! MAybe we should ask CMC and MCRC to bring it back!!

Thanks Gunny, sorry but it's one that I made up. That was what I was trying to get other to do, make up their own posters, not post ones that the Marine Corps used, it didn't work, only a couple were made be those that viewed this post, see what you can do, OK?

I like the one that says something along the lines of "we'd promise you pain, sleep deprivation, etc. But we wouldn't want to sugar coat things." Its at my OSO office, I can never find it online though. Where is everyone getting pictures of the posters from?

That poster was supposedly never authorized for circulation. There is on at RS Seattle in the Liason's office. I know the one you are talking about. They said they wished the had more of that same one so they could hand them out but its the only one they managed to get their hands on.

The above uniform plate, released in like 1987 should bear the caption: "The only U.S. military uniform that embodies the colors of a proud nation -- Red, White and Blue!!

I thought it to be quite interesting that our Dress Uniforms have the same colors as our nation flag. No other service can lay claim to that one!
