I know my jaw dropped when I saw this
as long as the onboard computers are working this plane can do some amazing things, without them as I understand it, the thing is so unstable that a human cannot control it... that instability is what makes it so maneuverable and allows it to do those amazing things.....

Reminds me of the first time I observed a Phantom F4 practicing landing and take off at Iwakuni, when it kicked in the afterburners it looked like a rocket ship taking off and extremely loud. In 64-65 they were something else, extremely fast for that era. It is hard to believe they are now a relative antique compared to these Raptors. I know, I am showing my age.
