I hold Veterans Day with a very high level of respect. To many of us, the day before Veterans Day, November 10th is equally important as it is the Marine Corps Birthday. Established in 1775 in Tun Tavern, Philadelphia, (a bar), the Marine Corps is now 243 years old and is celebrated throughout the entire world (Marine Corps Ball) by both active duty Marines as well as Marine Corps Veterans. To all my Marine Brothers S/F.
The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!

Dave, can you tell us what the Corps was like way back then? Were you all still using muskets?

Have celebrated many a Marine Corps Birthday's in my time on this planet and this one will also be celebrated. A little quieter than most though.

Dave, I am right there with you I went in Aug 61 so we have seen a lot of Marine Corps Birthdays. In my younger years there were a lot of hangovers the next day!
