Im in forming for T school right now in Camp Johnson, NC to become a Motor T Mechanic, I was just wondering if there were any Marines out there that could tell me what life is like for a Motor T mechanic. Example: Daily Rotine, PT, what kind of trucks I'll primarily be working on, exct. Thanks

i'm not a mechanic. i break what you fix. i believe you'll be working on 7-tons and humvees. not quite sure. since your in forming, you could probably ask your NCOs what you'll be doing

You will be a grease money. fix flats, wash vehicles, change spark plugs, anything else will be done by some civilian working for the for the Motor Transport section. The civilian Arm Forces.

Is is possible to change MOS's from a MT Mechanic to an operator? If so, how?

I got out in '97 so it sounds like alot has changed. Probably should ask your class commander, or wait to re-up. When I was in there was 3 echelons of Maintenance. First was completed by the operators. 2nd and 3rd was the Mech.'s. I was a Q.C. for my Company as well as an operator. Hummers, M813's, M923's, and LVS's are what we had.
