Marine corps ball date

I am a marine, and I plan on attending my units ball. My boyfriend is a marine from another unit and I'm wondering if I attend his ball as a date will I have to be in uniform? Or can I wear a dress? I've looked in every order I can think of and I can't find the answer. Thank you very much for your help.

Just a simple question. If you are a Marine and you're going to the Marine Corps Ball, why not wear your uniform? Just saying.
