Soda shops and bobby sox
Cokes and roller skates
Drive-in movies, back-seat hugs
"Gosh, it's getting late."

Poodle skirts with crinolines
Sweaters and saddle shoes
Penny loafers on the guys
"C'mon babe let's cruise"

Fords and Buick convertibles
Chevy Impala's too
Were the choice of the in-crowd
Like mine, pink and baby blue.

Wrought-iron tables in
Drive-in places
Juke-box blaring
The latest crazes

Jitterbugging, Rock-N-Roll
Painted fingernails
T-shirts tucked in tight blue jeans
Swinging pony-tails

Bomb shelters, what a scare
But our spirits never fell
We're called the "baby boomers"
But why? I'll never tell!!!

Who went to war because his country asked
And stepped onto the shores of unknown land
To live in constant fear of not returning

And to this day you still are gone from here
Forgotten? Never for your sacrifice undying
In bravery, Marine unto the very day
You fell...you lost your freedom's ring

In giving of your self for others O my son
We still can do and say what's in our hearts
For freedoms ring remains through out this land
Because you cared to go and fight for it

In doing so you gave the very best
Your life what more could any other ask
Our hope is that you will return some day
Back to the land that sent you far away
