Gee, I don't know. Kerry is taking the lead this month. I think if he harnesses that Navy SEAL competitiveness he might have a decent chance.

It would depend on if he listened to himself or his handlers. I don't see much imagination in him. The sound bytes I have seen makes him look like Herman Munster on Zoloft! At least Al Gore had a glimmer of personality.

Dean is gasping for air and funds this week. We're going to have an old money Yale grad for President either way, it looks like.

Looks like Kerry is the choice for the Dems, but he isn't locked in. The Dems have a chance to win if the national news media continues to tear away at President Bush until November.

By the way, yellowwing, John Kerry was a PBR (patrol boat, river) commander, not a Navy SEAL. You have mixed him up with Bob Kerrey. another Democrat, but one who is not running for the Democratic Party nomination.

Its interesting to note that no one argues about President Bush's "Gravitas" nowadays.

Oh crap, thanks for the correction! I guess we won't see Jesse Ventura as Secretary of State.

gravitas.
grav·i·tas n.
Substance; weightiness: a frivolous biography that lacks the gravitas of its subject.
A serious or dignified demeanor: “Our national father figure needs gravitas, [but] he's pitched himself as the kid brother” (John Leo).

I don't think there is anything frivolous about an American President.

Am I the only one that thinks that Kerry looks a lot younger now than when he began the campaign?

Plastic surgery? Quick Botox treatment? Look at photos from before the campaign and those taken now.

It still does not change the fact that he was one of the most virulent anti-war demonstrators after his return from the Nam - or that his record in the Senate shows more flip-flops than the side of a swimming pool.

Unfortunately, I think the ticket will be Kerry-Clark - Edwards does not have the juice to get wide support in the Norhtern states - and the incumbent will still win.

After all is said and done, who will be number One.
Does King John Kerry really have a chance, his running mate Ted Kennedy the so call American Prince?
I know that John Kerry is a want-to-be, So we will just have to wait and see.
No matter who wins this bid, even Edwards the SC Liberal Kid,
They would loose this war like the ones before, What happen to Vietnam Veteran poor Albert Gore?
The Clintons want George W. to win, so that they can run in 2008 again.
Then you would get Hillary and "Slick Willie" with his open fly, they would take us back to the beginning so he could continue to lie.
No mater who's you are for, get out and vote Nov 2004.
George W. may not be perfect in all he said, he had the guts to move us ahead.

Let put our faith in God above, to protect this land that he so loves.

Vote for George W. Bush, he's our man, hecan do the jog to protect our land.

Kerry still looks like the shoe-in. Now the jockeying starts for the VP's office. I've already heard on the radio that Hillary is high on that list, along with John Edwards.

I shudder to think of her in the Presidential line of succession. I think I'll let that dog lay (no pun intended).

If Kerry shows up with ribbons on his lapel, or wearing his old Navy uniform with awards and decorations, I'll puke. He has no use for veterans except to get votes.

I'm rooting for the other side of the fence.

I think you,re wrong about Hillary, she wants to be #1 not #2.
The way I look at it, the Clinton's want George W. to win so that she can run in 2008. Reports was that Kerry's ribbons was thrown in some river or lake when he protested the Vietnam war, also that he has them hanging in his office, seems as if he replaced the lost ones. I keep hearing about veterans for Kerry, Cannot understand why any Veteran would vote for him. George W. may not be perfect, then tell me what past President was. I voted for Truman the hat salesman, JFK the America prince and Carter the peanut man. I was a Democrat until my cousin George.H. ran. Now if the democrats had anyone that would put the country ahead of his/her personal desires then and only then I would consider them for my President.

Gunny

I know Hillary wants the catbird seat. However, the country hasn't fallen that far down yet. If she were "offered" the VP spot, on a ticket which CANNOT win, she will be able to add a campaign run for the Executive Branch to her political portfolio. But, since she wasn't the top on the ticket, she would be able to deflect the defeat onto the shoulders of her running mate.

I can just hear her, on the campaign circuit, in 2008. "My fellow citizens. We lost the last race because Senator So&So misread and mishandled the opposition. I won't make his mistake. I will blah, blah, blah, ...etc. etc." She would point out how the disappointed Democrats had an opportunity to get even for the terrible beating they took (will take) in 2004.

I don't underestimate Sen. Clinton one bit. I'm sure she has copies of all 1000 FBI files, which were "misplaced" in the White House for two years. Their convenient re-appearance means she had finished with them, and was armed with the most "convincing" tidbits. She is a lawyer, and accustomed to getting around the laws we mere mortals must abide by.

I too, was a solid Democrat, until I saw President Reagan's leadership change the downward spin we were trapped in, and pull our country back to a smooth steady climb. I remained a Democrat, but began finding myself on the other side more and more. When Bill and Hillary dumped on the White House and the Nation, it was the haybale that broke my political affiliation. I feel sorry for the servicemen who had to endure their administration.

That doesn't mean I vote blindly for someone because they have a big (R) after their name. It does mean I'm right more than 65% of the time on most issues. Democrats in positions of national leadership has come to mean a weakening of our Armed Services, and a loss of techincal superiority in the a world where we still have powerful enemies.

I think of the access the Red Chinese had to our leaders when Al Gore was accepting "donations" from Buddhist Temples in California. Classified technology then was released from restrictions and sent to "modernize" the poor backward Chinese masses. Horse Puckey!! They modernized their missiles, and now loom hungrily over Taiwan, licking their chops.

Okay, I'll shut up. I'm not running for any office here. So, you really are related to the CinC. I was wondering, after I saw your name on bottom of the messages. Well, its a pleasure to electronically shake your hand, Gunny. (I'm not good at using smilies yet). Be talkin' at you again.

Although the Republicans are outspending the Democrats, I have to give President Bush credit for making an example out of Saddam, as did President Reagan of Khaddafi, so that puke Third World nations never use WMD/nukes against their neighbors in a border dispute (eg Pakistan & India)- or worse. Even China has called off its North Korean dog and has started to think twice about attacking Taiwan. The Democrats lately have done nothing to demonstrate American solidarity against these evil nations, but prefer to detract from President Bush's attempt to take a stand against a previously escalating morass of nitwit nations who appear to have nearly tapped nuclear and/or WMD capability. Democratic politicians should take note that a staunch Republican isolationist against entering the European war, Senator Taft, was FDR's worst detractor until Pearl Harbor. He then sucked it in, shut up, and went to work supporting the nation's effort to rid the world of aggressive nations who thought nothing about killing civilians in their quest for power. I know we are in for one hell of a recession and horrible inflation period not unlike the so called Arab Oil Embargo during the Carter years because of our heavy spending in this war against terrorism. If you recall, President Johnson never taxed the people during the Vietnam war ("We can have guns and butter" ......ie fight a war and have a Great Society...) and 10 years later the recession was conveniently blamed on the Arab oil embargo when in fact money was printed wildly for over a decade. We are headed there again. But there was a similar problem after WWII and we survived.....there was no alternative. Whatever it takes, we will prevail....no thanks to the Democratic Politicians, who want to give the vote to ex-cons and illegal aliens and curry favor to the ethnic and fringe ("Save the Whatever..") groups AND to remove the FOURTH check and balance from our Constitution, the 2nd Amendment! I am wary of any group that would undermine their standards so brazenly in order to expand their voting base. They also want the UN to supercede our soverign right to our own destiny. I am not happy with the fact that Turkey cost themselves $83 million dollars in lost aid because they refused our troops access to Northern Iraq and our government failed to go one step further and thank them by stating that we will just use that money to support our own rural hospitals that are decaying and closing down, etc. In fact, the amount of money given to foreign countries overall might be better spent on Americans! Let corporations go to the world and bring progress, not our public money handed over by crooked politicians. Any intelligent Democrat will eventually leave the Democratic party IF he/she is patriotic and truly believes in the USA as a soverign nation. But all politicians regardless of party have one motivation that supecedes America's best interests.....that of their remaining in office for just 12 years in order to qualify for the greatest thing since royalty...their government pension. They log roll with each other regardless of ideological hatred and vote for each other at critical times in order to ensure they all satisfy their consituents enough to remain in office for TWELVE years. The answer to our future is not Democratic or Republican party affiliation, but changing the retirement system to be commensurate with a normal American's 401k benefits over the same time period. That way, they get in, make laws to FOSTER successful business and social programs so that they can soon get back into society themselves where they can benefit from laws (that they heretofore exempt from themselves in Congress). For now, George W. is the best leader for the sheeple.

This will get you in a lot of trouble, no proof than Johnson had anything to do with JFK assassination.
