i copied this down while i was in boot, saw it on the duty hut. gave me a lot of motivation when i had none. i read it every night after lights out so i could have dreams. i realize some parts have come from different quotes, but just thought i might give somethin to our poolies to keep them moto'd in boot. by the way, when i got this, i wrote it down real fast in a letter to my mom and had her frame it. it's not hanging over my desk with all my other coveted items. well, here goes....

The Corps
The Marine Corps is over 227 years of romping, stomping, hell, death, and destruction. The finest fighting machine the world has ever seen. We were born in a bomb crater, out mother was an M16, and our father was the devil. Each moment that we live is an additional threat to the enemy's life. We are rough looking, roving soldiers of the sea. We are cocky, self-centered, overbearing, and we do not know the meaning of fear, for we are fear itself. We are green, amphibious monsters made of blood and guts who arose from the sea, festering on anti-Americans throughout the globe. Whenever it may arise, and my time comes, we will die a glorious death on the battlefield, giving life to our mothers, the Corps, and the American flag. We stole the eagle from the Air Force, the anchor from the Navy, and the rope from the Army. On the seventh day when God rested, we overran his perimeter, stole the globe, and we've been running the show ever since. We live like soldiers, talk like sailors, and slap the hell out of both of them. Soldier by day, lover by night, drunkard by choice, and MARINE BY GOD!!!!
