One of my piglets is in Navy boot camp and will graduate the end of September. Piglet number 2 just signed a Navy contract and will ship in July of next year. I'm surrounded by squids LOL.

Well, actually, the navy has been awfully good about giving us a ride whenever we need one. I'm glad they are serving.

Graduation is Friday so I'll be in Chicago Friday and Saturday. If anyone in that area wants to share a beer let me know.

The Navy and Air Force don't give rides for free, they are paid for form the Marine Corps budget for all deployments, rides....:)

I have to confess when I was deployed at sea with them, they were the hardest working SOB's I ever knew. While we slept between field operations, those guys were always doing some kind of labor on the ship 24/7. If they were not sweating in the boiler room, they were sweating in the kitchen at 4:30 AM or in the laundry room at midnight. When we pulled into harbor, they were painting the ship, loading supplies or scrubbing off sea crap from the water line.

As long as they're serving honorably, they get my respect. Stark contrast to many of the teen/twenty-somethings i encounter every day.
Not everyone can be a Marine, which is why we are the few, and the proud.

Don't feel bad, as I have a daughter who is at Dago right now in MCRD but also have a son in BUDS.... It all works out.
