A year ago, Marines watched many of their comrades leave for an expected war in Iraq.
On Wednesday, it was their turn to go, this time for a six-month deployment to relieve Army troops who have been trying to keep the peace in the Sunni Triangle near Baghdad.
"We're ready to get it started," said Sgt. Billy Adams, 23, of Dewitt, Ark., who works as an aerial observer aboard CH-46E Sea Knight helicopters for Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 261.
"During Operation Iraqi Freedom I, we were the only Phrog squadron left on the base, and we got to watch everyone else leave."
