That incident was not hazing. That was an "attitude adjustment" by his peers and is normally quite effective.

Nothing will get a politician to get something done like when it affects someone they love.
Anyone sleeping while on watch not going to get my sympathy. Do you all see this happening: a military person gets into trouble; "independent" civilian investigation initiated. Guess we -- the military is going to be micro-managed beyond what McNamara and his klondikes used to do.
Tragic he took his own life but the actions were not "hazing". More like saving lives, falling asleep on post once in country is almost unforgivable, let alone multiple times...
