Read an article online this morning about a man who was reunited with a wallet he lost in 1944! Made me wonder.

Back in the fall of 1965, while serving with Bravo Co.,3rd Recon Bn., at Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, we got the order to "bug out" for Okinawa and then on to Vietnam.

We were allowed to take one seabag of clothing with us and had to put all other belongings into storage until our return.
You can see where this is going. My second seabag, which was left behind, full of personal items, uniforms, and memories, was never seen again. It was supposed to have been shipped to a facility back on the mainland(probably California)ready to be reunited with me when I got back from Vietnam. It was securely locked, as much as a canvas bag can be, and clearly identified with my name and service number in fresh dark stenciling.

To the point: what are the chances that my old seabag is still laying in a warehouse somewhere? Where would I look for it? Who would I contact? Is this all just wishful thinking 51 years later?

Your thoughts, please?

Wow, imagine if you were able to trace it and get it back ?

Where to even begin ? Archives office in St Louis perhaps ?

My second seabag, which was left behind, full of porn and girly mags, was never seen again.

Oh it was seen, passed around and wore out.

It would be cool if you were to locate it.
