Brothers and sisters,, we have received the visit from the Marine Corps that no parent wants,, we were informed at 15:00 hours that our Daughter,, Sgt. Bobbie Sue Chesbro had passed away..

She missed morning formation so they went to check on her and found her in the barracks unresponsive they tried CPR to no avail, they, of course are conducting an investigation and an autopsy to find the exact cause of her death,

as you know this is extremely hard on us, you children are supposed to out live you not the other way around,, their will be many tears, anger, and if only's in the near future..
prayer will be greatly appreciated..

She is now guarding the streets paved with Gold..

Rest In Peace my Baby Girl.. Daddy will miss you greatly..

thanks to you all, very much,, we really do appreciate it very much, I just got off the phone with the coroners office in California, and it looks like she had a heart attack shortly after the PFT and in her barracks room.. they found her on the floor and he said that she was probably dead before she hit the floor,,

well as you all know we will be having a roller coaster ride with emotions for a while..

again thanks to you all,,

As already stated, words are woefully inadequate in this context.

I feel terrible for you and your family's tragic loss.
With great sincerity I echo all that has been expressed by others.

I can only imagine the grief felt by all.
I'll sign out with a Semper Fi to Sgt. Bobbie Sue Chesbro.

Horrible news.

As the I-I Admin Chief, I went on all the casualty calls in our AOR with my Inspector-Instructor and a reserve Navy chaplain. Assisted the NOK with the SGLI application and all other paperwork. Can't feel your pain, but at least have an idea of the process you're going through. Wish there were some way to help brother.

a bit of an update,
they will be releasing the body to us next week, and SSgt. DeSlva said that we should have her home next Thurs. or Fri. then she will be taken to the Funeral home in Cedar Spring Mi. by police escort and we will be riding in the Gov. veh. in the precession..

I truly hope and pray that no one else ever has to go through this,, Rocky I know you have far to many times and Old Marine, I know you have as well,, and I think you both and anyone else who has gone through this will join me in praying that no one of our Brothers and Sisters ever has to go through this,,

again thanks to you all for the support and all of the prayers..

We thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
and days before that too.
We think of you in silence,
we often speak your name.
All we have are memories,
and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake,
with which we will never part.
God has you in His keeping,
we have you in our hearts.
A million times we`ve wanted you.
A million times we cried.
If love could only have saved you,
you never would have died.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
But you didn`t go alone.
For a part of us went with you...
the day God called you Home.

the Marine Corps has been nothing but fantastic during this time,, they have keep us apprised of of everything,, we are still waiting on the Body, but with three agencies investigating it, they need to make sure that A matches B and those two match C.. so ether tomorrow or Fri. is the estimate, then we can get closer...

Pat,
My condolences for the passing of your daughter. She's a beautiful young woman. With a son currently serving, and my daughter getting married soon, this really hits home with me. Still cannot even fathom what your family is going through, no loss is a good loss especially that of a child. (fully aware she is an adult but of course still always your child)

Did they tell you the actual COD besides just heart failure, did she take pre-workout before the PFT? I dont ask to sound rude or insensitive, but following the thread since it was posted that question of how has been running around in my head.

A few years back. My old man had a blood clot on his leg, fell, had to have paramedics take him to the hospital. Seemed like everything was under control, then I get a phone call with the bad news. This after he was released from the hospital and going for therapy at another hospital for scaling on his legs from diabetes. Heart went, but he was 83. Buried at the VA National Cemetery in Houston. Was an E-5 USMC 1948-52.

Prayers are with you and yours, Pat. Like Rocky, my wife and I lost two of our children. The twins died shortly after they were born. Although they weren't with us long, I still find myself thinking about them and what could have been. There's nothing worse as a parent than losing your child. Relish the memories my friend and take Peace in knowing that one day you will be reunited.

thank you all, we will remember very well all of the 25 years we had with our Daughter, it is a club that no one should have to nor want to be in,, to loose a child that should out live you.. we are doing better, we just did some more paper work and hopefully that will be it, the rest of her things are coming next week, (her Jeep and other things) we will be in Arizona to help our son pack up and move back here to Michigan, the SSgt. that is handling everything for us will be here to unload the Jeep and call my sister to come and get the keys from him..
