This is something to think about!

Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam & Bin Laden should have read
up on their Muslim passages...

The following verse is from the Quran, (the Islamic Bible) Quran (9:11) --

For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The
wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while
some
of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the
Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

NOTE THE VERSE NUMBER!

In order to get your story straight , Do as I did ad go to cIslamic Bible verse 9-11 and read that .
What you are saying started as a hoax circulainig since Feb 03
If the Marines on this site want to read garbage there,s better place,s to go In the qur"an there is no mention of the eagle as the Eagle is an Americian symbol. Anyway before you write stuff like this please do a little research to get a basic knowledge of what you are talking about.
Thank you

Claim: Quranic verse speaks of the "wrath of the Eagle cleansing the lands of Allah."

Status: False.

Example: [Collected on the Internet, 2003]

Quran (9:11) -- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

Origins: No, this isn't a legitimate quotation from the Quran (or Koran), the sacred text of Islam. The chapter and verse citation quoted above is a leg-pull, an obvious play on the USA's (the Eagle) launching of military action against Afghanistan and Iraq (the "lands of Allah") in response to the September 11 terrorist attacks on America organized by Osama bin Laden (the "son of Arabia awakening a fearsome eagle"). That the chapter and verse selection match the date of the terrorist attacks (9:11) is another giveaway to the joke.

Depending upon which translation of the Quran one uses, the section corresponding to chapter 9, verse 11 actually reads something like this:
But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.

There seem to be a lot of references to "the poor rate' in the Quran. Anyone know what it means? Paying the poor rate seems to be the only way they abide infidels.

"Only he shall visit the mosques of Allah who believes in Allah and the latter day, and keeps up prayer and pays the poor-rate and fears none but Allah; so (as for) these, it may be that they are of the followers of the right course"

Payment of the Poor-Rate:

In the matter of payment of the poor-rate (Zakat), the Holy Prophets should also be followed. Many amongst us here are required to pay the poor-rate. The (Quranic) commandment is that the collection of the poor-rate should be centralised. If this is done much work can be organised. Just as the congregational prayer is essential for the establishment of prayer, in the same way the collection of Zakat is also necessary. For this reason Hazrat Abu Bakr (the first caliph) stated that he would wage war on anyone who would be deficient in the payment of Zakat by as little as a Camel’s tying rope.

It seems (to me, at least) it is an offering to charity (through the Mosque, Mullah, or other Islamic organization); comparable to Christians “passing the offering plate”. – TG

Screaming Pickle Investigates

Our crack team of scientists searched multiple online databases which contain the Quran in it's entirety.

The word "eagle" does not appear anywhere in the Quran, the Koran or even the Quarahnne

Our scientists then went to google.com and typed in "online quran" to locate an online copy of the book. Here is the actual Chapter 9, verse 11 of the Quran

009.011

YUSUFALI: But (even so), if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practice regular charity,- they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand.

PICKTHAL: But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then are they your brethren in religion. We detail Our revelations for a people who have knowledge.

SHAKIR: But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communications clear for a people who know.

Screaming Pickle Uncovers

sounds like pay the poor rate might be something like taxes? just a thought. wars aren't normally waged because of a charity. oh I forgot this is the Koran they will wage war over a sunny day.

OK, OK...so its not really a verse from the Quran. Seems to me like the Quran is incomplete, because that verse certainly belongs there! :emark:

This is America the pilgrims never read the Koran, the read the word of God,?the Bible! This country needs to get back to taking care of its own and build our military back the superpower it was before this administration down sized it! Let's take our country back! God will be the final representative of this world and we will be judged by His word. Come on, let the true Americans wake up and fight for our constitution and leave the Koran out of it!
